  • Hi Lenny, great site, good review, nice to see fellow modellers on You Tube!

I've had a couple of these over the years, impressive when made but by god it eats filler! Checked and the kit was first produced by Airfix in 1983, probably to cash in on the 1982 Falklands War & Black Buck operations. The latest release is Vulcan to the Sky XH558 which you have reviewed.

Word of warning, the air intakes are a real pain to sort unless you buy an aftermarket resin kit. Overall a good kit though.

  • @73JohnnyD Thank you fella for your comments and the heads up. I've seen the resin replacements on the Hannants website and they're nearly the same amount as the model. Will have to save me pennies I think.

  • what about the JU 88 and HE 111 in 1/32? They have the best cockpits around

  • the music in the background that is rammstein isn't it

i like the valcan and have seen it 2 times and riat 2010 and 2011

  • @spitfire12able You have excellent hearing Sir!! It is indeed Rammstien.

  • Very big model kit!!!

  • Could you do a video about re-scribing panel lines? It would be useful to me and people who build older airfix kits. Thanks.

  • @110samec That's on my to do list of videos.

  • Good review of the Vulcan Lenny, as you say its a filler magnet which kinda puts me off. Like you i saw it at the southport air show and man it was awesome. Was there with a friend of a friend who was in the falklands and he said it saved thier bacon by bombing the airport

  • @Ryker45 I t was awesome in everyway. I could stand and watch the lady fly all day.

  • Airfix produced this kit in 1979. little tip when you come to stick the wings on you will find a gap between the wings and fuselage and when you stick the canopy on you will not see any of the inside. The bomb you get with the kit called Blue Steel but it never drop on port stanley in 1982 the Vulcan drop normal raf bomb.

  • Good review Lenny, it made me want to start my Vulcan (1989 on the instructions) :-)

  • Enjoyed the review, As it is I need to expand my display shef space, a model like that would requre some serius space extension.

  • There's nothing like a big Delta to beautify any model collection.. :) £30!! Ouch... just as well I've already built the MPC reboxing of this kit, which somebody gave to me for free.. :) It takes a fair amount of filler.. but it builds a jolly nice model! Enjoy the build... I did! :)

  • @BasicModelling Yep!!!! £30. I nearly fell over when I saw it.
