Aaaaaah this is love right here.. Man I love The Boys!!! Chica0616 you are so cool for posting this!!!!!! :) I am smiling like crazy as I sing along to this....
Wow! I was 9 years old when his came out! I remember going to school that 4th grade year and girls would sing their songs and bring their cassette tapes and posters to school. My mother took me to a concert with The Boys, Kid N Play and some other artists I can't remember. They were the talk of America at that time. They were almost the New Edition of our childhood. I saw almost cause New Edition made more albums and they're songs are still major classics to this day.
I had this shit on 12' vinyl wen i was young round 91'... i rap now. My dad threw it out in the trash tryed to get me into reggae. Fuck that shit. I wish i still had the 12'. The Boys were dope. Catchy.
They lived right down the street from my Uncle in Carson, Ca...UPSET I WASN'T AROUND TO SEE Larenz fine ass Tate in the HAPPY video...still smdh 20 yrs later...
@MsApril16th ..lol that was your missed opportunity right there..i would have been all over them and larenz if they live on my block or a relative of mines
This song just came on Music Choice. I turned it up as high as I could, closed my eyes and sang along. I was only 1 when this came out but somehow I would played this song as a little girl ALL the time. I'm speechless.... AMAZING. Just posted this vid to my FB page
I LOVED THIS GROUP SO MUCH I BROKE MY TAPE AND CRYED THE WHOLE DAY...MY MOM HAD TO GO BUY ANOTHER ONE..ME AND MY FRIENDS USED TO PRETEND WE MET THEM AT THE MALL...SO MUCH WE GOT EACH ONE WE LIKED AIRBRUSHED ON OUR OVERALLS.. LOL
OMG, I used to cry listening to this whole album. I tried finding their personal number by dialing 411 and the operator kept asking me about their last name: Abdul-Samad. When I explained that they were a boy group that just came out (in 1989), she had to break it down to me that celebrities don't list their numbers. I was young and heartbroken. I just had to settle for writing their fan club (lol).
yea i had this tape too. dial my heart was my ish tho!! lol i have me lil mans bangin these songs. i made him a cd wit all these lil kid songs from back in the day and he eats em up.lol doin his lil reject dance to it.lol
ok i was TOTALLY obsessed with these guys, what the hell happened to them?? I think I still have the tape kicking around somewhere, all beat up & shit
Wanna know what's odd.. They ALL look the exact same as when they were younger except Tajh of course. The latter three of the bros are pretty much still active doing music, but Tajh is reall heavy into it.
Two bros, Khiry and Tajh live in ATL and I believe Hakim and Bilal live in LA., but again the three have dual citizenship in USA and Gambia
@bburtonart ahh man u went way back to the tapes lmao I owned their cassette also it was carefully placed right next to Bobby Brown's 'Don't Be Cruel' album which LA/Face also produced back in the day...funky as hell!!!
I think they go by Sons of Light now...they have a website and at least one of the brothers has his own site and seems very active. I I am not mistaken they live somewhere in Africa now and have wives and children. Sill making some musicv..you can find some on youtube
This is Amazing...
