  • @bbdhrggl um do you have any tips for those runs where your supposed to fit 35 notes to 4 in the bass.?

  • @SSvolksgrenadier it's not a strict count. easier when played at tempo. to figure the spacing exactly, check my tutorial "how to play 3 notes against 2". that covers all cases.

  • Great stuff. Took classical myself mostly theory..

  • WTF! lvl 6?....i'm lvl 8 and I'm having trouble playing this....oh god i clearly have a lot of imporoving to do...

  • I love this song, thank you very much!

  • I thought this piece is difficult but it is easy after learning it !!

  • Thank You

    It's great!

  • Thank you for tutorial.

  • This Nocturne is my favorite and the Movie "the Pianist" is greaaaat! Do you Know the Level of that piece? I guess 6 or 7?

  • @tellmehowtoblow yes, will add that to description :)

  • @tellmehowtoblow grade 9 actually.

  • @tellmehowtoblow How high do the levels go? I am learning this now and have never had piano lessons and can barely read music. So I am level 6 without ever taking a lesson when I learn this piece all the way through?

  • @fireballkiller my levels are just my guesses. level 6 means one who has played piano seriously for 6 yrs should have an easy time learning this piece. Learning anything well requires building a solid foundation. and that means starting with easier pieces, practicing scales and arpeggios. Sure, a difficult piece can be learned with determination and hard work, but it is a tower that would collapse with a slight nudge.

  • @bbdhrggl But there are clearly people WITH training, ↓ below me there, who say there level 8 and have trouble with this? I am level nothing and have got the first page down in a total of about 8 hours practice. I know Fur Elise, Moonlight Sonata, Comptine de un atre le mide (however you spell it) from the movie Amelie, and Sonota Pathatique. All within a matter of hours, perfected over a week or two of course. I don't eve know what a whole note is, I understand nothing of timing. and what tower

  • @fireballkiller perhaps you are exceptional. but I think it wise to keep being exceptional to oneself, for most who are exceptional believe they are not. :)

  • @bbdhrggl I just wanted to know simply because of the fact that I would like to train formally, and learn the correct way. But I don't think I am exceptional I just think I have talent.

  • @bbdhrggl Oh and I meant that humbly honestly..

  • ermm....at 2.34...the b# note....isn't it is suppose to be tr(trill)?

  • @wickweak different edition

  • @bbdhrggl oh,,,u hav the sheet music?

  • @wickweak this is in public domain. imslp should have a few editions.

  • @bbdhrggl oh ok...thnx...btw the hardest part is M59..(the 35 note) any suggestion how to play it fast (like what kind of scale i need to learn)

  • @wickweak that is an A major scale. it's a good idea to practice a different set of scales and arpeggios every week.

  • @bbdhrggl oh ok thnx :)

  • I've got some difficulties learning the 2:10 - 2:19 part. I find it hard to increase the speed on the right hand like that while maintaining the same speed with the left.

I've tried to play it really slow. I can play both hands seperately though... I've been trying for two days now, haha.

Do you have any tips on how to practice that?

    Matt

  • @Matthijs3476 I made two tutorials on playing x notes against y notes, try those?

  • @bbdhrggl Cool, I'll try those, thanks!

  • @bbdhrggl I don't want to look like a lazy person, but can you maybe give a link to those tutorials? I've searched your channel for like half an hour now. You've got so many uploads, I just can't find them!

  • @Matthijs3476 no links are allowed in comments. In the menu on the left column, click "Scales and More", the "Taking the Mystery Out of Reading Music". Might as well look at scales also. Piano students should practice one set of scales/arpeggios per week to build muscle coordination. Have fun! :)

  • Thanks

  • Hi all, I have kind of a general question. I'm a self taught pianist and i love playing this piece. for the runs in the end, how do you decide where to place the left hand eight notes? i notice that you did not break them up precisely in perfect time. it sounds perfectly great, but was there any reasoning behind where you placed them? was it where the notes lined up in the page? just what felt right? any help on this matter appreciated! thanks!

  • @audreyboles sorry, not sure what you mean. but the LH consists of 8th notes on the beat. are you using sheet music?

  • @bbdhrggl Yes the 8th notes are on beat. but how do know how many notes to play in the RH per every 8th note in the left hand. for example, at 7:50, you play the G sharp in the run with the F sharp in the LH. How do you match the RH notes to the LH?

  • @audreyboles now I understand your question. the answer is in my tutorial how to play 3 against 2 (or 4) notes, or any x against y. this counting method is exact. music however, played with feeling, is not exact. so play what sounds good.

  • hi and thanks so much for posting this video! I just have a quick question. I play the part from 4:45 - 5:48 exactly the same way as you do, which is (according to the music sheet) the correct beat and timing. But when I listen to the recordings, they seem to play that paticular section at a much faster beat. Is it just me and do you have any tips? Thanks!

  • @kasonleung there might be different versions. happens often on Chopin. that section does sound more exciting at a faster tempo. performer's discretion.

  • @95sven95 thanks. but I'm going to remove your comment because of two words I do not like to see under my videos. It was a meaningful comment and motivating to some. So feel free to rewrite. :)

  • HEY , how to discover what grade i am on piano????

    please answer

  • @95sven95 If you can sightread through the entire piece without a lot of difficulty, then the piece is your level. My Level ratings correspond to the number of years of piano playing.

  • It's very helpful, thanks a lot

  • don't listen that idiots. thx so much 4 this tutorial :)

  • Thank you, your tutorials are amazing!

  • @MrAlb0t jedi? lol. I guess this piece is about Level 6. it's intended for those who follow the sheetmusic. hope you do.

  • this is not a tutorial, she is just playing it.............i rather listen or watch it from a composer than her. waste of timeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

  • @jamshedkh yep, those who lost their mirror neurons should stay far away. bye bye.

  • ii lay my breath to your feet. tthis slow pace is hypnotizing. e v e r y sinking into the soul. pure beauté....merci beaucoup .
