The Typhoon is not a stealth aircraft, despite various assertions to this effect, nor is it a genuine supercruiser like the F-22. Its design incorporates none of the features seen in very low observable types, nor does the EJ200 incorporate the unique design features of the F119 and F120 powerplants.
In terms of where to position the Typhoon in the current menagerie of fighter aircraft, it can be best described as an F/A-18C sized fighter with BVR systems and agility performance better than older F-15 models, similar to growth F-15 models with same generation systems and engines, but inferior to the F-15 in useful operating radius.
Vertical take off has been around since late 60's ?
Its all about stealth air superiority, With the F-22 the enemy will never know that the plane is there till the missile activates its radar, giving the enemy pilot, maybe just enough time to eject =)

dude i was at this airshow and the sound of that that is fucking awsome! The thing that was funny there though is that there were soldiers there with m16s and m203 grenade launchers :)
Nice, it can move a lot like those Russian aircraft now. But I can't help thinking that they've just stuck a more powerful engine in it and claimed that it's more 'technologically advanced'.
I was at this airshow and I must say, campared to all the demos that day, the F-22 was very impressive. Not because it's the newest fighter jet available, but because of it's impressive maneuvers it was displaying. Check this website out: f22fighter,com

not really.
this jet has been out to our military for a while now.
the future is more like vertical take offs like the j35 (i think it is the j35, not sure about hte beginning letter) even though it is out already
