  • Thank you Richard, You have done a great job putting all of this together. I cant tell you how many times I have watched these videos, But when I want to hear music that I love I go right to your videos. Thank you very much. They ought to make you the Mayor and Head Historian of Mamou La.

  • What a Great version of Joli Blanc. Who sings that version ?

  • @ballinameen : Bobby (Guidry) Charles.

  • What a Great version of Joli Blanc.

  • Change the names to Polish or Slovenian and this could be Cleveland in the 50's.

  • @JtrasherUA : That surprises me because this cajun town of Mamou had a population of only 3k during the '50's. One would think Cleveland would have been much different. Interesting.

  • @JtrasherUA Cleveland, an industrial citiy, is made up of ethnic & racial neighborhoods built around the factories who employed the workers & supplied company houses for the families. People walked to work. Like Johnstown PA, you literally see a diff. ethnic Catholic cathedral every 2 blocks. Even today, few people will own up to being from Cleveland. You are frrom University Heights or Parma, etc. It ID's you as to "who are your people" as the Cajuns say.
