evryone knows 6 was a train wreck. but it was the first (main) 360 game in the series (5 empires was a port) so they were testing their abilities. 2 only had 9 musou modes but everyone at the time loved it. 7 is true class, however there is room for improvement. roll on empires
I played DW6 and I have my likes and dislikes. My main dislike is they changed weapons on some of the characters that should NOT have been touched, ex. Sun Shang Xiang her chakrams are her main thing and now it's a frickin bow?! EW! The same thing with Yue Ying. Now I love the whip weapon for Diao Chan but I hate they also gave that to Zhen Ji, I loved her flute. But I like the mount action of calling them to you so you don't have to go chase them everywhere. So it's a toss up.
@ladyaya01 historically speaking Lady Sun or (Sun Shangxiang) used a bow & not the chakrams but I can see where you could be upset. I couldn't use Xiahou Dun after they took away his Chinese broad sword or Dian Wei after loosing his axe. Pretty much DW 5 & 6 were garbage 7 turned out pretty good but really the games are so simplistic there all the same game but with different strengths & weaknesses.

ohh people are just afraid of changes :D i 1st played the dw5.. and not too impressed on it because the combo and special musou are suck ass.. X_X but after i played the dw6.. i say it 10x better than dw5.. dw6 has great renbu and the musou special is f@KING AWSOME!!

Huang Gai is old as fuck, Gan Ning is a gay Pirate, Zhang He is so damn flamboyant it isn't funny. Dong Zhuo.. no comment. He looks really ugly. Lu Xun is quite flamboyant in here too. Xiahou Dun.. they give him that stupid ass weapon... Sun Ce, Tonfas are what made him.

Dong Zhuo is protraid as a fat gluttonous womanizer historically that's not far off. The only thing i'll give you is Xiahou's weapon change was stupid.

Zhang He has been flamboyant in all of the DW games that I know of like I said I didn't play DW1 I don't even know if ZH was in it I doubt it though. Wasn't SSX supposed to be a tomboy? They made her look all girly. Da Qiao isn't even in this game. They left out characters. They can't have this game anime style. It isn't true to the older games. I hope KOEI realizes this for DW7.

Wu was my favorite, cause they had most of my favorite characters on it. like: Gan ning, Ling Tong, Zhou Tai, Lu meng, Lu xun, etc. but i don't like their character designs in dw6.

..., I really enjoy playing DW but I was a bit frustrated at 6 because characters Like Sun Shang Xiang and Yue Ying have almost same moves T_T same with Diao Chan and Zhen Ji and the others... People, come on. The series was begging for something new. I love the old games as much as anyone, but you're lying to yourselves if you say you weren't starting to get bored with getting more or less the exact same game every time, plus an extra couple of characters.
They tried to revamp DW6 and failed badly! Some of the changes i like, but mainly hate it, the horse system is ruined, they should let you have ultimate weapons aswell but the renbu system is still good but they have ruined the characters i mean Lu Bu's weapon....whats going on there and Xiahou Dun my two fav characters ruined! and the characters without musou mode are ruined. If they make DW7 the same as this one them im going to have to start looking elsewhere :(

They just made Dong Zhuo look worst in the 6th one. To be honest, when I first played the 6th, I stopped in like 5 minutes..... It was horrible. If you like it, good. But to me, in my opinion, wasn't that great. I like number 5 better :3. Everything that's new, doesn't mean it's always better. That's why 5 will always be better than 6. And dynasty warriors 3, will always be the best out of all of them! However, this is just my opinion. :)
@reversingmemories I would agree sorta. I just think DW6 has lazy effort put into the fighting and battlefields, 5 is still just bases and stuff but has the most characters but still enjoyable in other ways. the think i LOVE about 3 was the battlefields literally packed with red and blue

I love Zhen Ji, but when i heard about Cao Pi forcing her to suicide, i got angry at him and that she was buried with her hair covering her face [ to not let her see anymore sunlight ] and filled her mouth with rice grain shells [ to not her complain even after her death ] That's just stupid! I dispise Cao Pi.
I can stand for new weapons and outfits (except for SSX, Zhou Tai and Xiahou Yuan theirs really suck), But what bothers me is new battle system, where only think you do i costantly pressing swuare button, sometimes constantly pressing triangle. In DW 2-5 you had different power attack for every combination, thats the only think i miss.
Overall I really like what they've done to the *looks* of many of the characters in DW6. The weapons are a mixed bag, but at least a good handful of them were remedied in DW6XL/ Strikeforce (Taishi Ci, Zhang He). Cao Ren looks like a Megaman boss in DW6, especially in his Strikeforce fury transformation, and I really like how Lu Meng, although still generic by all means, has an almost ninja-esque look and demeanor. Let's face it, Up through DW5, there was almost nothing likeable about him.
sucks that ma chao is using a two hander and not a spear and he doesnt have the sexy ass dragon armor and gan ning is boring with 2 daggers funner with the sword running like 20 miles per hour

they ruined dynasty warriors 6....dynasty warriors 6 doesnt have variety in each character anymore... all the other characters like sun ce and guan ping had their weapons changed to spears and all their attacks are the same... also only a selected few can be in Story instead of dynasty warriors 4 or 5 where everyone had a story to tell
Well, Xiaohou Dun looks like an asshole in the DW5 game but looks surprisingly hot in his potrait, while in DW6 he rocks in the game but sucks in his potrait.
They've made them look more fantasy-like in DW6. The girls...I don't know what SunShangXiang is wearing, Xiao Qiao looks like she's wearing nothing but an elusive lingerie, and Diaochan...wear that in those times and get killed for being indecent!! Oh wait, I forgot...DW6 is fantasy :(
lu bus double spears look awsome but i miss zhang liao blue wyern. also sun quan looks as youns as he is becuse the first time i played dw4 thought sun quan was the father of sun jian lol but now i know its the other way around.
1.) Stay true to the roots. I know certain changes are made for sake of progression, but heavily traditional embedded stuff like Lu Bu's Halberd needs to stay.
2.) Bring back Pang De! Seriously, he's pretty badass.
3.) Refrain from becoming too fantasy. I don't want this series to become so anime-styled and over the top. I actually enjoyed the traditional Chinese elements of the past games.
4.) Zhen Ji. She just keeps getting better and better. Keep doing that.
I don't like how change their style and weapons on majority of the characters. I do like Xu Huang new look. They really changed Sun Quan,Sun Jian. I Miss Sun Ce's Tonfas.
They removed Jiang Wei in 6. I haven't played a DW game since 4.
They fucked up so much. Contrary to all the stupid opinions so far, Xiang wasn't a -dyke-, she was supposed to be a tomboy. She went from being a badass femme fatale to being youth-inized so hard she could pass for one of the Qiaos. The new weapon's cool, but they mutilated her character.
Also, why the Hell is Liu Bei youth-inized too? He looks like a Freshman as opposed to, you know, the Emperor to an entire country.
This and Strikeforce are just the beginning of the end for Dynasty Warriors.
How to you unlock Liu bei, cao cao? On dynasty warrior 5 special .

The thing i'm gonna have to say i like between dw6 and dw5 for the characters.
Diao Chan is good with the whip, and she's more prettier than other DW designs.
Gan Ning, i prefer his DW5 but his daggers are unique and fit him a little more than his sword
Zhang Liao, i liked him either way but i like his dw6 more
Lu Bu, now seriously you have to admit his black armor is great and totally represents total power and fear. His weapon is okay.

..., I really enjoy playing DW but I was a bit frustrated at 6 because characters Like Sun Shang Xiang and Yue Ying have almost same moves T_T same with Diao Chan and Zhen Ji and the others... T_T whyy!!!! I find difficulty in handling Sima Yi and I miss the bodyguards... T_T I love DW... I started playing 4 and 5 and I guess I miss 5 T_T

People, come on. The series was begging for something new. I love the old games as much as anyone, but you're lying to yourselves if you say you weren't starting to get bored with getting more or less the exact same game every time, plus an extra couple of characters.

They tried to revamp DW6 and failed badly! Some of the changes i like, but mainly hate it, the horse system is ruined, they should let you have ultimate weapons aswell but the renbu system is still good but they have ruined the characters i mean Lu Bu's weapon....whats going on there and Xiahou Dun my two fav characters ruined! and the characters without musou mode are ruined. If they make DW7 the same as this one them im going to have to start looking elsewhere :(

It is wrong how addictive this game is, same shit over and over but I can never get enough Dynasty Nothing more satisfying that kicking crap out of people over and over.
I agree with the 6th somthing weird about it that i cnt get my head around, I rather they would just bring in some new characters its somthing thats always been lacking all the stories are to similar.

They just made Dong Zhuo look worst in the 6th one. To be honest, when I first played the 6th, I stopped in like 5 minutes..... It was horrible. If you like it, good. But to me, in my opinion, wasn't that great. I like number 5 better :3. Everything that's new, doesn't mean it's always better. That's why 5 will always be better than 6. And dynasty warriors 3, will always be the best out of all of them! However, this is just my opinion. :)

I can stand for new weapons and outfits (except for SSX, Zhou Tai and Xiahou Yuan theirs really suck), But what bothers me is new battle system, where only think you do i costantly pressing swuare button, sometimes constantly pressing triangle. In DW 2-5 you had different power attack for every combination, thats the only think i miss.

Overall I really like what they've done to the *looks* of many of the characters in DW6. The weapons are a mixed bag, but at least a good handful of them were remedied in DW6XL/ Strikeforce (Taishi Ci, Zhang He). Cao Ren looks like a Megaman boss in DW6, especially in his Strikeforce fury transformation, and I really like how Lu Meng, although still generic by all means, has an almost ninja-esque look and demeanor. Let's face it, Up through DW5, there was almost nothing likeable about him.

they ruined dynasty warriors 6....dynasty warriors 6 doesnt have variety in each character anymore... all the other characters like sun ce and guan ping had their weapons changed to spears and all their attacks are the same... also only a selected few can be in Story instead of dynasty warriors 4 or 5 where everyone had a story to tell

Well, Xiaohou Dun looks like an asshole in the DW5 game but looks surprisingly hot in his potrait, while in DW6 he rocks in the game but sucks in his potrait.
They've made them look more fantasy-like in DW6. The girls...I don't know what SunShangXiang is wearing, Xiao Qiao looks like she's wearing nothing but an elusive lingerie, and Diaochan...wear that in those times and get killed for being indecent!! Oh wait, I forgot...DW6 is fantasy :(

Some suggestions for DW 7:
1.) Stay true to the roots. I know certain changes are made for sake of progression, but heavily traditional embedded stuff like Lu Bu's Halberd needs to stay.
2.) Bring back Pang De! Seriously, he's pretty badass.
3.) Refrain from becoming too fantasy. I don't want this series to become so anime-styled and over the top. I actually enjoyed the traditional Chinese elements of the past games.
4.) Zhen Ji. She just keeps getting better and better. Keep doing that.

They fucked up so much. Contrary to all the stupid opinions so far, Xiang wasn't a -dyke-, she was supposed to be a tomboy. She went from being a badass femme fatale to being youth-inized so hard she could pass for one of the Qiaos. The new weapon's cool, but they mutilated her character.
Also, why the Hell is Liu Bei youth-inized too? He looks like a Freshman as opposed to, you know, the Emperor to an entire country.
This and Strikeforce are just the beginning of the end for Dynasty Warriors.
