  • Ruairi was right in 1986, the provisional movement were duped and should have stuck to the Republican position.

  • Ruairi is psychic - he knew what way the provos where going in 86 - thank god he had the common sense to not be party to it.

  • O'braidaigh is a bigot. There is no difference between him and the bearded bastards who send forth misguided muslim martyrs wearing suicide vests.

  • A united Ireland without doubt is a just & noble goal, but many Irish work in the UK & have done for years. It seems to me implausible that you would want to come & live as millions of Irish people have in a land that staunch republicans despise so much but, most of them do it. Stange but shite! That said good luck. Alba gu bràth

  • @Gersroolz And many, many British people live and work in Ireland. People in Ireland don't have a despisal for Britain, they just don't want to be constitutionally joined with it. What worries me is the number of young people on here who buy into the hard-line, uncompromising militant view of the C/RIRA when a completely peaceful and democratic alternative is available to them.

  • @Riiye Hi, no disagreement with what you say Sir, as a Scottish Nationalist & SNP member I am of the opinion that we can have good relations with England without having London rule.Ireland has a massive advantage in that it has water between it & England, in days gone by we suffered nearly 300 invasions & still we were not conquered, I'm pretty proud of that. I would hope these days are past now, but I also don't believe the British State can't be totally trusted, they have a sleekit streak!

  • @Gersroolz What I've always wondered is why Scotland never had IRA style rebellions? The PIRA obviously came about because of partition but the Irish War of Independence for example, the equivalent never happened in Scotland as late as the 20th century. How come?

  • @Riiye Probably because Scotland had been fully incorporated into the Union by then, not that ordinary Scots got a vote back in 1707. Scotland was not oppressed in anyway & because the working class developed at the same time as England & Wales it made it difficult for Scottish Nationalists to win the case for separation, that & the British States conditioning process. What Westminster has done is to undermine Scotland & make us feel wee wouldn't make it alone.

  • @Riiye They hid the report by the economist Gavin MacCrone's report into the worth of Oil & Gas for an independent Scottish exchequer in 1975 in the official secrets act for thirty years because they new we'd be minted. They did the same when Scottish fishing waters were handed over to the EU by Ted Heath as the deal for getting into the Common market. Under traitor Brown they further bloated the public sector so as to make people dependent on government. A shower o sleekit wretches they are!

  • @Gersroolz Yeah, it's shocking how most people in the UK, outside of Scotland, don't have any clue that the UK / Scotland is an oil nation. What annoys me more is "self-hating Scots" who support the union simply because they believe Scotland couldn't survive without England due to unionist propaganda. The same applies for a lot of people in NI - they have effectively been told that there is something wrong with being Scottish or NIrish and they swallow it hook, line and sinker.

  • People voted for good friday agreement. End of story. Even facists can come up with a rationale. Any rationale can be logical but in the end the people decide if its WORTHY. The best of the republicans went with SF. The rest seem embittered and fast becoming irrelevant. Your time has past. Please f**k off. You're no more true revolutionaries than the blueshirts were.

  • There will never never be United Ireland because Irish population will commit suicide if they took in Northern Ireland.

  • Yea lets all join sounthren ireland and let our economy get worse, lose all out money, lose our free health care, lose our benifits and turn into a 3rd world country. That sounds great

  • @nollieking12 To hell with your free health care and benefits... Tyrants are born when the Government can offer your more for free than you can earn for yourself. How dare you deny freedom and liberty for the assurance of something given to you that has been taken from those who have earned it. For evil to flourish, all that is needed is good people to do nothing.

  • The opposing republicans need the MATERIALS to succeed, if they did the war will be full scale as it did before.

  • A living breathing talking fossil. Put the guy in a glass case in a museum.

    Let's move on.

  • CIRA

    ARMY OF THE PEOPLE

  • @32Paul81 Bollocks!

  • A wee Provie!

  • the real IRA AND the continuity IRA should become one to fight against the occupation force and unite the country

  • don't forget the INLA, the one with the greatest history out of the 3.

  • WHO

  • Irish National Liberation Army

  • @yingyangsang1 Costello's trotskyite's were only formed in the 70's and after a signifigant percentantage of them were involved in drug dealing. So I dont know how you can say they have the greatest history

  • @WOLFETONES92

The Brits are the least of our worries. Globalization is what's truly threatening our sovereignty now. Fuck the EU, fuck the banks and big business, and fuck the corrupt Dublin government. Nearly 90 years and there's not one sign that we're steering Ireland on to the right road. Death to the traitor! Onward to a Gaelic Ireland! Curb immigration and the apathy of secularization! We shall finally honour our dead!

  • @WOLFETONES92 Aye, That would really work, I could just imagine the Protestants uniting with these charming characters. Work at peace, reconciliation & creating common ground, get rid of apartheid schools they're just an excuse for stamping Prod or RC on a child's foreheid. Killing people is for egos & hatred, it won't change the basic desire of unification, it'll just make it even less likely.

  • Its time to stop the enemy within and start the war with the same old foe. Tout after tout and at the highest levels. Gerry you have been taken for a mug too many times and should now do the honourable thing and resign.

All the SF/provos might have laughed before, made fun of INLA and CIRA/RIRA. When the touts were in their beds and at the work. Its the brits who laugh louder. And the scum who took the english gold.

  • what in heavens name would somebody called pride of Ulster know about democracy.

  • Northern Ireland was set up as a direct response to the 1919 election in which the people voted overwhelmingly for a break with Britain. When we protested we were threatened with 100,000 troops. Then there is the Gerrymandering u lot did. No i know more about democracy than u.

  • Bodenstown Sunday

    June 10th,2007

The Republican Movement's Annual Wolfe Tone Commemoration will be held this year on Sunday, June 10th, in Bodenstown Churchyard, Sallins, County. Kildare beginning at 2.30pm .

    MAIN SPEAKER: Cathleen Knowles McGuirk

    Vice-President of Sinn Féin Poblachtach

Support true Republicanism - Be there!

  • The verse with the title The Misunderstanding should be read first.

  • violence will never free Ireland. The re-establishment of the Irish language and culture and reaching out to our protestant fellow Irish people will.

  • As a pacifist republican person I feel worried by developments in the north, however I can in no way condone any violence. Human life is sacred, be it Irish or British. My poem is about ideological sell-out not armed conflict.

  • yes

  • We really love our country

    You know our words correct

    We hope for peace progress

    but feel you can't connect

    our actions with our statements

and all that we hold true

but we haven't really sold out

Now would we lie to you?

    NO VIOLENCE BUT NO SELLOUT

  • The Misunderstanding

    We haven't really sold out

    It really isn't true

Those lessons that are doled out

    by that rebellious crew

    are made to mystify

the likes of me and you

but we haven't really sold out

I'm sure you know it's true.

  • maybe we have, but then I have too.

  • TO RIGHT Ruairi.NEVER GIVE UP THE FIGHT

  • A revolutionary movement cannot succeed unless it has the support of the majority of the people. It is impossible! We will only get a United Ireland through peaceful democratic methods and until that time comes we need some form of policing in the six counties. Isnt it better that Sinn Fein are on the policing board to prevent the PSNI from going back to their old ways.

  • It still shocks me how correct Ruairi O Bradaigh is at predicting events. He has correctly interpreted Irish history for decades now and its about time he was listened to.

  • CIRA and RIRA pack of fucking hoods doing fuck all up da provos

  • Martin & Gerry your ceasefire is way past the sell by date. Your time is up, please stand down!

    RIRA CIRA

  • Ruairí's got it right, as usual.

  • hes spot on

  • here deighan u fucking moron níl aon rogha timpeall seachas an proíseas síochanta. Is fuath liom R.I.R.A agus C.I.R.A.

  • Fuck off Merseyshite.

  • i thought they had a mandate from the majority of republicans to take forward the peace process, what about europe, brussels have got more control over ireland, making laws telling us and the irish what they can and cannot do,making laws on immiigration, just about everything, britain isnt the danger ,europe is,we havent hd a referendem, your obsessed with a united ireland,do you really think itll be that great,if it kicks off again, itll be the south what.ll have to pay,can you afford it.

  • No U F-off ebeneezer, Merseyside is RIGHT.

Europe is making all the decisions now, with or without mandate from the common people.

    ITS WRONG!

Britian out of Ireland, yes. But the EU is the greatest threat to soveriegnty and democracy that our nations face today.

  • too right ruairi i agree fucking sell out bastards

  • @deighan01 Don't you mean SPLITTERS! Lol
