It would be tollerable to me if it was a Gigli or Caruso recording, but this is not that old to have such a bad sound. I love vintage sound, but this is not vintage, this is just a dammaged VHS video. Beverlly Sills is great anyway. She´s in the paradise of the best singers right now. We will miss her.

thanks, I have all videos and dvds on the market, except things like this, but they are from later years. yes, this was the years of her best reordings, hope they can release these clips some day.

This was a show in the early 1970's entitled "Beverly Sills, A Profile In Music" Several Scenes from Various Operas,Cesare,Barber,Lucia,Dev­ereux,Doe,Manon. At This time Beverly was at top form, and top of her career.

OMG! She's a goddess! Even through the gratingly poor sound quality, she shines!

The sound quality is not great - in fact, it's horible - but she is an astonishing singer.

The directing, the sound quaility and lighting is disappointing on the entire "Beverly Sills profile" production. However, the decision was made not to deprive visitors of the rarity in this broadcast, as certainly individuals expecting superior sound should focus, instead on the commerical recordings.

However,Sills acting abilities, her trills and runs in the various arias, is still quite superb.
