I don't have any advice because I don't play any instruments, but I really appreciate the grace you display in asking for and accepting critique. Keep it up!

Count, don't roll every chord, and for the love of pete move your hand away from the bridge once or twice: about as monotonous as it gets here. Otherwise every note is there but the point is to turn the notes into music; and most importantly adhering to the rhythmic values instead of a 200% variance in tempo in one musical line. It is no longer rubato at this point but error.
Bombastic What?? For someone with such rude choice of user names you swing a startling critic bat! I disagree with you on the effects of over enthusiastic encouragement. I'm sure he won"t lose his head over it. He plays very well and he has suffered many hours of practice to get where he is. The guitar is an exceptionaly difficult instruments to master. Sometimes, for instance, a guitar just does not want to play and things like that can be very discouraging. Rambunctious Weinie
Don't pay any attention to these jeolous assholes. I am a guitarist, and you sound great! A grand professional performance. how I admire you to play so relaxed and confident. Keep it up. With all the recordings made of that beautiful piece, I would buy your's!
You're obviously trying to encourage which is excellent, and there is nothing worse than non-constructive negative criticism, but it was very far from a "grand professional performance." Such comments can be just as damaging. It was out of time, the phrasing non-existence, and there was no attention paid to melody, bass and harmony. There were many things to describe this, and "relaxed" was a million miles off the mark.
Please ignore the play I made of your name on my other reply listed below. I admit that "Grand professional performance" was a trifle exuberant. I guess I was carried away. I have my own opinion concerning music and I think some of you take it to a ridiculous level of nicety. Music is to belistened to, not analized to death An artist should always add to any thing he or she does if they feel it sounds better. I'm a musical slob. I loved this video. Carry on and much luck, Briscocreek
I'm recounting the days when I was learning: I could smell disingenuousness and patronisation a mile off. Of course, if your feelings regarding this are truly sincere then who am I to argue?
"Music is to be listened to, not analysed"
The only way for someone to mature as a musician is to analyse. Analyse, analyse and analyse. You have to be aware of the minutiae. Analysis, self-awareness and self-critique are one of the most important tools in the box for an aspiring musician.
I cannot express myself with 500 characters, but you continue to take a single sentence anyway. I meant analyzation by others, the rest goes without saying. I am a product of innovative Jazz and Rock. Flamenco, which I play, is somewhat the same, improvization on a theme. Do you think Mozart payed much attention the wishes of critics while he was learning his craft? Nor Should any other young musician warp his genius to others opinions. talking style here. Not very clear. Sorry.
I know, the hindrance of expounding and clarifying by a little box! I understand where you're coming from though. And yes you're right: the bottom line is that music is to be enjoyed, and we do live in an over-critical society where an arbitrary measuring stick is utilised far too frequently when all that matters is the pleasure music brings. I've suffered from the same problem of not being able to express myself that clearly either, and sorry if I've come across a little abrasive.
This variation by Sor is one of the most difficult pieces for guitar ever transcribed. I think anyone who has posted a negative comment obviously does not realize the complexity of the piece, and are fools. I think Mozart and Sor would have smiles on their faces.Brilliant playing, keep it up and surely you will be a master. Bravo- five stars for having the balls to even attempt this piece.
Nice. I'm not a music teacher, but I do know what I hear. Was the plucking too harsh? and I think your guitar wasn't in tune. Your playing was good. I'd work on the rubato a little, perhaps it could have been smoother? Hope this helps at all? :) Oh and I've found playing other instruments and learning how they work greatly contributes to how you play your main instrument. So I'd advise trying to learn another instrument if you haven't already, e.g. piano or organ.
Suck dick. I advice you keep playing that skin flute, as i'm sure everybody else agress that's about the ONLY instrument you're a VIRTUOSO at, fucking talentless critic!
yeah! I agree that there is a promising structure to your music, and when u 'll be able to follow lessons I'm sure with a good teacher u'll learn to play very smoothly! Keep it up !
Hello! Congratulations for the effort. You know you must do a lot more of practising. The basic structure is there, now practice the Tempo and the phrasing. Good job until now and is for sure you will get what you dream:)
Sounds good. I read above that you appreciate helpful comments. So, please don't take this as criticism so much as advice. You store a lot of tension in your right hand. Try just letting your r.h. relax and fall down toward your knee. This will make it easier to play as well as improve you tone. If you want some more pointers, you should watch the Kanengiser video "Effortless classical guitar". It's full of pointer's that will help you a lot. Best of luck.
Thank you Jjfatts for pointing me to Kanengiser video. I will try to get it now. In the mean time, I will try to relax my right hand to make the tone sound better and the play easier. Thank you again my friend.
Hi Harley. Yes I did realize my mistakes and will try to play this piece better next time. Since I can't afford a teacher now, I think I will just use YouTube to get comments on my playing. Comments like yours are as valuable as the ones from a teacher.
Hey i haven't watched the whole video yet, but it looks pretty promising from the start, apart from the fact that every single chord you play is a roll. I mean if that's your style then ok i suppose, but maybe you should play some of the chords unbroken instead, or it sounds like there's alot of movement and it kind of obscures the melody.
Hey bboy2388. I know exactly what you mean. Yes, I somewhat abused the music by playing chords the way it pleased my ears while it may not necessarily please others. Since this is the video for others to listen, I should have played unbroken chords and only mix one or two broken chords in it. But sometimes I was just carried away but the music itself.
