It was one of the most difficult things I've ever done!

But he loved that song... we always we're connected through our love for Reba!

It went really well but after I finished I broke down and never wanted to hear this song again! Now he's dead almost 2 years and I realized this song helped me to ger over it!! Thanks to Reba for that great piece!

I think a lot of us that were born before the 60s may have had a Dad like this, mine was so very Stoic, did not show emotion much.. because boys in those days boys didn't cry.. when he was dieing he was in and out of conscientiousness when I said Daddy I love you, and he answered in kind of a muffled slurred speech I Love You too, I bout fell of my chair and started to cry.. I will never forget that, it meant so much to me, and does till this day!! That is why this song means so much to me!

WOW, reading your post just now and I had to do a double take, DID I WRITE THIS? On my daddy's last night on earth, we had gone to the VA hosp with my mom, (she'd been there the nights before also, but Saturday was the only day I could make it) and as we were leaving I bent and kissed his cheek, said I love you, he said Yeah Yeah (he could never say it back) and the next morning he was gone. Mom said he waited for me. The night he passed there was one bright star in the sky!

These two songs are absolutely, well... need I say it? I really miss the Reba that would tell stories throughout her shows. It seems as though in recent years she tends to rush through the live performances with a "smile on her face and a tear in her eye.." Seriously, she no longer cares to express emotion. When my father died we were not in good terms and for most of my teen years we did not had a relationship even though we lived in the same house. Now that almost 20 years have passed I wish he was here to tell him how much I miss him and how sorry I am for giving him so many headaches. I miss you dad.
