End of story... "have to shoot me in the ass or the elbows because I'm walkin out of here". So Ronnie heads for the door and Gary and Allen figure that they better follow. They jump in the car and write the lyrics to "Gimme Three Steps" on the way home. They were THAT good. As I stated, Gary told this account several years ago and this was his version of what happened. He would know...he was there!

For those who don't know, Gary Rossington told the story years ago. He, Ronnie, and Allen were at the "Jug" bar in Jacksonville. This girl asked Ronnie to dance (because she was fighting with her boyfriend and wanted to make him jealous, and Ronnie looked "older"). So, Ronnie's dancing with her, having a good time when in comes the boyfriend and he aims a gun at Ronnie. Ronnie tries to talk his way out of the situation but isn't having any luck. Ronnie then tells him that he's gonna.....

It is just SO COOL to hear just the vocal of Ronnie and Leon singing this! Leon ALWAYS sang this with Ronnie. Than you so much for uploading this. It really gives you an idea of the purity and originality of Ronnie's voice. It really was unique.

Oh yea thats Leon, just heard a video of him singing and it sounds alot like him.
