and actually N0valyf3, unless you actually know how to deal with people like this, you wouldnt want to mess with ANY martial art style kicks. even though i practice korean style martial arts, my side kicks are based on mostly strength, like japanese martial arts such as karate andishinryu. and i think that's because of my size, im 6'2 and weigh at least 250 pounds

@Maneater623 it depends on the type of sparring. in normal competitions, the primary target is the red/blue circle on the chest guards. if they head for anywhere else, its a penalty. i know this because ive actually competed in these competitions. not in sparring but in forms, breaking techniques, and weaponry. my school has yet to even start a demo team, which i would have joined.

The clip around :25 is actually Hapkido. But essentially Taekwondo and Hapkido are the same martial art, just different core philosophies. Hapkido is more defensive and relaxed. Taekwondo is more structured and aggresive.

certainly them are not the same... i practice both martial arts too, and not just the philosophies are different.Since both are korean martial arts them have some similarities, but taekwondo has the focus in kicks and some hand techniques, and hapkido in twists and immobilizations.Taekwondo is more hard and hapkido is more soft.

In essence it is a good mixture of both martial arts and Koong Joong Mu Sool, the Korean royal court martial arts. A fantastic martial art which I am currently practising. How long have you been learning Taekwondo and Hapkido?

i heard korean styles are also influenced by chinese & japanese styles don't no if that's similair for every korean style but i did tangsoodo in the past & it had some karate influence (i know karate comes originally from okinawa but much people refer to japan with karate).
