22/7 is just a rounded fraction. It's not actually pi, its just as close as they can get.

Actually, it's not as close as they can get. There are closer rational approximations, like 355/113. By the way, that equals 3.141592920346... and pi equals 3.14159265358979. No approximation can ever be exact (cuz it's an approximation), but they can start to get pretty close.
