Their ears are small and otter like while their toes are webbed thus showing their adaptation to water. Fascinating species and although I know of at least one domesticated one they do have a stronger hunting instinct and it would be risky to have them around a home. If you do a GIS you can see some pictures of one that lives in a Russian family home that IIRC was rescued from a private zoo.
@4emonas It's actually a species of cat that is naturally adapted to life near water and they literally catch fishes in the water when in the wild... and they CAN swim, just like how a tiger doesn't fear water -.-
This is a breed of cat that is called a Fishing Cat. They are losing thier natural habitat due to man's ever expanding numbers. They do well in a captive setting, but do not make good pets, since they do require special needs and are one of the stinkiest cats.
@BrundukasLT Why is always a tough one to answer, they just do. If I were to start guessing, I would say it is so they can mark a territory that is often wet, so the scent marking needs to be heavier. But I don't guess much.
