  • ha face book ha

    a worm

  • i build and sell package and fix and other bullshit that comes with the jobs and make over 250 a year. and when i watch this you say malwarebytes i can fight with that i recommend that to my members always the best anti virus. Thumbs Up FAB !

  • Just a quick question FAB.

how much would it be for a HP laptop to get cleaned out professionally?

  • @hardy495 $90 at my shop mate...

  • how bout a condom

  • my girl had a laptop and she took it to her ex's friends computer shop to check for a virus and she got it back with them saying your better off buying a new computer and she turned it on and it was fucked and she found out that someone had fucked with the motherboard or something shes got no more memory on their the laptop has nothing on it anyway but she still cant download anything what do you reckons happend

  • @PowdeRade sounds like u got shafted...

  • Good stuff. Thank you. Fortunately, none of the three programs found any threats on my machine. A couple ideas for a future video: What you recommend for a personal firewall and what you think of peerblock (blocks communication to/from lists of IP addresses of known spammers and malware sites).

  • Nice one m8 will try these

  • do you know if Sophos Protection works??

  • i have something called Microsoft Security Essentials, is that any good?

  • @DemonShadow9 ...no..

  • @TheFatAussieBarstard what would you say the protection percentage is for that?

  • great vid, simple and helpful

  • lol

  • lol

  • Yep, once or twice a year you should pack up your computer and take it down to your local PC professional and let them rifle through all your personal data.... brahahahaha that's farkin hilarious.

If you can't manage firewall and antivirus on your PC ask your kids or grandkids to do it- not some stranger that says "Trust me I'm a professional". My local PC professional uses an unsecured WiFi that half the suburb war drives through on a regular basis.

That being said- I still love you FAB.

  • @BradFrosted ..I only rifle thru customers porn....

  • I just use mc Afee its does a good job of protecting my computer norton is good to

  • Iv got a reeaaallllllyyyy annoying one, and it works like this.

When i go to open a link from google, it redirects me to another page, and then i have to go back to google, and open the original page again. I think this happened when i went to download Java Jdk a while back.. as i have a java jdk icon on my desktop, unable to be removed.. My virus protection doesnt even pick it up when i run scans.. Any ideas?

  • @e15s Malwarebytes fixes all known google hijackers mate...

  • Thanks for the info! Look forward to the next computer tip vid! Thx FAB

  • One thing i would recommend for everyone to do is search your computer and see if you have the virus "system32" if so, delete it immediately and restart your computer. You will see an immediate performance upgrade.

  • @killerkure321 ummm...thats REALLY bad advice...lol..

  • msconfig .... tyvm .... here's 1 keyboard shortcut everybody should get into their heads ... Windows / Pause Break will bring up Basic info about the computer including Device Manager where you can right click any device to get an update for the device from the net ... thnx FAB ... KISS me weekly with this stuff please .... there's a name for your updates... KISS something or other ...

  • Pete, got a video driver related problem that has had stumped for weeks "ati2dvag infinite loop". Seams to be fairly well known on many pages via google, but as of yet, found no reliable cure. It most often triggers, when a large load is put on the video chip side of things.

  • @stanmarsh14 I have an XP AMD AM2 based system, this problem has been going for much longer than before AMD brought out ATI, so I think it is an ATI issue. Short of setting fire to my rig, any ideas how to tackle this problem? Have even tried manualy installing drivers via Device Manager > Update Driver.

  • Yes do some more as not everyone is tech savvy, along with it being better to hear it in your terms. Nothing worse when salespeople / experts bombard you with terms only industry people might understand. Good one would be what should only be running when surfing net, best methods, and do things on taskbar/ desktop use power/ memory when just sitting there?

  • I'm sure I asked if you were going to do computer videos a while back, so I must be a little bit illiter...ilitorae....oh fuck, little bit stupid which is good as it means I have achieved something ..lol So people that say you can get a virus from toilets, door handles etc are all wrong..doctors?!

  • One anti-virus you never mentioned was Avast which is also free and has a 98.2% hit rate and has one anti virus software of the year numerous times. It also comes with alot of features like P2P protection, Phishing, Malware, Email etc protection built into one program and its database is updated daily.

Great video BTW keep it up FAB.

  • great video FAB very informative!! make as many as yah like love all your stuff!! about a moth ago there was a virus runing around facebook sent to me as a video link from my nephew so called!! it went thru my coplete friend list sending itself i had'nt even been loged on for 2 days!! it was called " total pc protection 2010" popin up tryin to sell it to me!! A.V.G. found it & wiped it out thanx k.c.

  • Great Vid. mate Cheers

  • u really work in the IT industry ?

  • I had that stupid 2010 antivirus program thing, and used spyware doctor, its good as well.

  • ubuntu and transmission ftw

  • ESET Nod32 4.0 is ok for me..

i have the paid version, it has a really good detection rate.. you can get the trial.

if a unsecured/unknown internet site pops up. it will dissconnect you from the net.. its awesome

also.. some virus's can be hidding in mp3's, and rouge programs

  • lol @ working in the IT industry

  • Great vid Hun! have learnt heaps!

  • Professionally cleaned... but they'll find my porn :P i should be charging them for it lol

  • You forgot that proven facts show that it isn't uncommon to get attacked randomly. If you read the research, the average unprotected computer is attacked within 50 seconds of connecting. So saying that it is mostly from emails or downloads is a little foolhardy.

Norton has a strikerate actually 86% and AVG is sitting at about 72%. You sir are over paid, and under skilled.

  • @Jyadore1 You stick with your Norton while I start coding a virus for you. You want a good protection suite then go with Kaspersky.

  • @Jyadore1 .."YAWN"...yer wrong...simple.....

  • you dont seem the type to know much about IT lol

  • thanks!!

  • What do you make of the program nod32?

  • @BSJenko It's shit.

  • FAB- Every try Deltree *.* on a 98 machine or RD C:\ /S /Q in Command in a NT Machine? lol

  • great video fab, tho I would say torrents are the new limewire and I would like to see more.

  • when I got that virus, I brought it to a preferential. my step mom happens to be said pro lo

  • Great info Pete!

This will help alot of people!

  • FAB, how would you suggest handling a keylogger? I'm sure you know this already but basically by keylogger I mean a program that watches what you type on your keyboard and uses that information to steal passwords and stuff. My mate has this problem now, he took his computer to a lan party and we think some smart arse there put it on or sent it to him without his knowledge. Anyways, any tips or advice on these sorts of viruses?

  • @IMattee ...blow away and reload....

  • i think u work for the record companies and kazza is still alive u bastard

  • Thanks for all the useful info, Pete.

A word of advice re the previuous video, where you talked about your views being down:

If you're going to be posting "useful" videos (ones that might contain information that people might actually need, rather than just vlogs for entertainment purposes) you would do well to put in a more complete video description and tags. Only takes a few minutes. Certainly takes much less time than the filming, editing, uploading etc.

  • I usually type in the description & tags while the video is uploading (which probably takes longer over here because we have really pokey broadband), trying to think of all the search terms that people might use if they were looking for the information.

Even though I only have about 800 subs, the videos in my "101Ways to Make Fire" series are getting many thousands of views.

Because we don't have a partner program over here, I can't rely on any "most watched" lists etc. Most views are searches.

  • This video of yours is one of the most useful I have come across, simple advice, well explained, etc. even for the layman.

I'm sure that there are many thousands or even millions of people who would find the information useful.

If you put a bit more infor in the tags and description, you would help them to find it more easily.

You'll also find with these "informational" videos, if they are easy to find by searching, that the views keep coming long after the initial subscriber surge has passed.

  • Sorry for writing a whole book here, Pete, filling up the comments section again with my 10c's worth.

I have the same sort of verbal diarrhea thing, once I get started talking it just goes on. And on....

But hey, you DID say "Drop us a comment, gang".

Anyway, great video. Thanks again for the very useful information.

  • I've used AVG for years and more lately BitDefender.

    Haven't had a virus in 10 years....

Of course, I don't open attachments or spam and I don't surf porn.

    Well, not much porn....

  • thx for the advice FAB! I had tried AVG but it bogged my laptop down terribly!

  • I've found AVG to be the worst actually... MSSE (Microsoft freeware - not defender - MS Security Essentials). It's much like AVG but is even more light wait, lets me do what I want (I can easily disable it when need be). AVG was doing all sorts of fuckery on my systems, so I ditched it when MSSE came out. I haven't had any viruses for a long time to really compare, but it did find a heap of things on my father's system when I put it on over AVG.

soln; 'nix. I only use windows for my games :)

  • Cheers FAB!! really useful info!!

  • bring it on FAB!

  • @masonstheidiot not irony advertises will put ads that relate to the video, because the people watching the video are going to be interested in it.

  • Norton's not worth shit, i personal prefer McAfee.

    Great Video FAB.

  • ahh love ur vids man, i hope to see more :)

  • Call ur IT/computer Series "FABit" .... Pronounce it as one word. (Rhymes with Rabbit).

    Good Stuff! Informational & Entertaining!

    Keep on YouTubin!

  • lime wire is the virus king, steer away from it!!!!

  • No shit mate, Trend Micro just expired on my PC and i havent had time to get another one. So, today i was surfing and i got a few annoying pop-ups and my PC became sluggish. I knew i had a virus, earlier today but i couldnt do shit. So i asked my incredibly computer literate friend got me onto AVG (the free one). As soon as it finished installing it was like "you have a virus". Really good. I am not a computer-illiterate (i have a cert 3 in IT! haha) but i do look to him for advice.

  • buy a mac

  • Brilliant advice m8, I think you should continue to do tech talks. Superb m8

  • I know how to sign into things, watch into porn and work my itunes... kinda. (: if you uploaded shit like this, it would be pretty good. Cheers mate.

  • hi fab what is your opinion of trend internet security pro?

  • does anyone know of a free software program to make vids. Not the one given on microsoft

  • @imlordbrennan ...I,ll email ya kiddo...

  • @TheFatAussieBarstard I LOVE YOU !!! LEGENDDDD:DDDDD:DDDD:DDDDD:DDDDD:DDDDD

  • You are a legend...

  • Even Professinal Spyware or virus stuff, Can still get infected Everything in this world is able to get a Virus or Hacked into...

  • i use Microsoft Security Essentials

  • Dammit FAB!! Now I have to stop using Limewire! :'(

  • @AngristisLord Get VDownloader and download Youtube videos into MP3s

  • Thanks Pete! Helpful as always. ;-)

  • MBAM, SAS are great and also use a thing called Rkill its great for stopping those fake antivirus programs from preventing the said programs from running

  • VIRUS = FORMAT !

  • class vid man, some great info and tips in their, id be intrested to see more tech vids. cheers for the info.

  • Really well covered. Keep up the IT episodes.

  • the only real way to get rid of a virus of any kind on a computer, is to reload the OS.

  • Malwarebytes is amazing

  • this sounds like a cool idea

  • Keep em' coming FAB, loved the info vid with some good sound advice. Had to watch it wice (second time with a VB in hand). Great stuff. All the best from your neighbours in Kiwiland. Cheers. PS...The VB was to handle laughter control....nearly pissed meself, f******** hilarious mate, but great words of wisdom. Keep up the great vids FAB!

  • you deserve more publicity

  • The reason why I don't use Lime wire (and like) is because it hogs alot of processing power and system resources from your computer.

  • If you have OS-X there's never any worry... LOL

  • FAB why are you wearing sun glasses....at night?

  • ur fairly retarded

  • cheers FAB i ran malwarebytes no infections but with superantispyware it found 39 adware-tracking cookies!!

  • FAB, i have a question. I have AVG, and after numerous scans i have no virus. BUT after using my computer for about and hour and a half, it will start to freeze every 7 seconds for about 0.5 seconds.

Im considering just buying a new computer, annoying when im trying to work.

What do you think about this?

  • Wow you are raking it in!

  • install linux / buy a mac and never have a problem with viruses again (posting this from a PC rofl)

  • Gotta love ya!!!

  • You don't have a sweet FUCKING clue what your talking about do you FAB! Ha,Ha just joking mate, hey what about porn sites I bet you get many different types of viruses from those don't ya,even ones that are painful don't go away! Take care buddy.

  • fab i got 2 nasty trojan virus's and a bloodhound one (couses porn to pop up) and my teacher who is a computer wizz whiped the memory and killed the virus and ive had no problem since

  • I don't know what to think =/

  • but on lime wire, you can turn security settings up. ive been using it for years and ive got no problems

  • This is totally awesome, thank you Pete! Best Regards

  • FAB, please do continue with this topic! :D It's a great idea!

  • I've been waiting to use the 'bird flu' thing! one day. . .one day.

  • I don't mind 'nerding' out with the customer, because, it really helps when the customer can be as specific as possible.

  • I love this. As a 10 yr. CATV technician, among many other things, I deal with customers who are having 'speed problems'. I catch a lot of undue shit because of things like this. I usually do the 'msconfig' thing, and then inform the customer about all those other things. I'm not supposed to tell them to download or install anything, or suggest a specific repair shop (wtf?), but I do. We throw business your way! ha!

  • I think you could do a vid or two every now and again just go all techy on us.

  • thanks fab, you rock, youre always uploading stuff we can use in real life, like the how to knock a big man out video, useful in real life, I knew about spybot but had never heard of the other programs, thanks again and keepem comin

  • thank you so much FAB for this. you have helped me so much. thanks for going into great detail it really helped me to understand what exactly a virus does.

  • I use Avast!, it's perfect.

  • Here's the better version.

Use Common Sense 2011, BEST antivirus EVER!

Also, I don't mean to be mean, but the shit that I've seen working in the I.T. industry.

I'd just leave this to the pros.........

People can be REAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYY stupid, as I'm sure you know.

Anyway, that's my opinion, I'll be off to tafe now :D

Also, should of mentioned RATs, and I might recommend getting Zonealarm, for the more tech savvy, get noscript for your browsers and a few other security programs.

  • We'll i'd love to see you do a video on the Australian internet censorship bill.. Would be interesting to see what you think about it! Great video fab.

  • keep posting fab that was interesting ^^ but lol rather just take it to com shop for 100ish bux lol

  • Please do this once or so a week.

    You rock

  • Comment removed

  • Great Job! Great information!

    Scott

  • wow, you work in the IT industry? And you struck me as a man who types at 4 words per minute.

  • @mh4777abc ...hahahah...I get that a lot...lol..

  • WTF makes you think I have this kind of attention span? 16min vid? Not bloody likely. I'll just bring my computer to you lol.

  • I got that son of a bitch virus you were talking about FAB!

It led to the blue screen of death, and now it wont boot up. I think a format is in order.

  • more--- and once a week

  • so some sick fukcers sit down & write these deliberately, just for fun & to bugger some poor sods pci had 2 nasty viruses last year, had to go to a it shop & wipe my hard drive & start from scratch & i had norton 360 installed, this virus posed as a anti virus program, my laptop went ape, in the end it cost me £62 in the it shop, FUCKERS

  • A start menu folder doesn't cause the program to start at startup. It simply puts a folder in your programs menu which has a link to open the program lol.

Good vid, but you shouldn't be giving these tips out seeing as its now something that you are selling lol.

  • Remember the old days when you could just get a virus the old fashioned way... by earning it. ; )

I fix my friends computers as a hobby, if I see they have limewire, I tell them strait up I'm loosing it, don't like it, go pay someone to fix it... see what they tell ya. Most of them don't argue, if they do, than they're gonna pay for either the tech or a new computer... Told a few people, "I've been called worse by better than you" lol

The get it for free people can get nasty sometimes! ; )

  • "I'm making about 150 grand a year at the moment...how much are you making?" lmfao ! that made my day, great vid too!

  • I got one of those "windows antivirus software" viruses on a VM I set up on my computer... it was so aggressive I couldn't open a webpage without it shutting everything down and requesting credit card details. Very, very annoying, interferring and cleverly disgusted. I had to delete it manually. :)

Excellent vid... a bit long... but suuuch good advice in terms anyone can understand. Loved it!!! more more more!!!

  • Fat aussie bastard, your pretty awesome

  • And yeah i think that doing more of these videos would be awsome, keeps me entertained at work. (IT tech)

  • the Hiren Boot CD has a stackload of tools for cleaning out computers, has all the applications you mentioned and a fuckton of other handy applications.

  • @LinkMyBoy ...yep...I,m gunna have a chat on hirens soon...

  • Good info, nailed it on the head.

What you think of the free verison Spywareterminator?

I dont think its too shabby, but as you said i dont really worry about it, and wipe my comp every month or so..... for my comp, its like a shower after a camping trip! LOL

  • Thanks FAB !

  • thank you fab! great advise! can you do a vid on firewalls pwning someone els computer hijackers or is pwning the same as hijacking a computer?.

  • Keep helping us! lol Thanks FatAussieBarstard, can you do some mac help stuff for my friends?

  • @Abridgedcritic ...no....lol....best advice for them....buy a PC...lol..

  • I originally subscribed because you were funny, but now all this IT stuff is giving me a geek high.

    Please continue!

  • This is awesome timing, by the way, since I literally just found out a few minutes ago that my friend got a virus on her computer, and I am going over to help her in a few minutes. I knew most of it, but good tips are good tips. :)

  • cool vid. I use Avast, is that any good?

  • @manicdemise ...personally...I dont like it...hogs system resources....

  • last week some random added me on msn and i didnt see anything of it. this week they came on and told me where i live, all my bank details and so on.

  • please make more but please dont spruke about what you earn as some of us are going hungry at times thanks to being pumped in the bum cheeks by over zealous bankers

  • @TheUnDeRGRouNDHoBo ...you took that the wrong way...I wasnt braggin....my overheads are a shocker..lol..that was just to shut the haters up....

  • @TheFatAussieBarstard ... (in reply to your message to the undergroundhobo).... taken the wrong way.... yep... may I suggest cutting down the internet budget in favour of feeding yourself? Sounds to ne that eating would be a higher priority than watchin Youtube vids, No? LMAO!

  • FAB, question related to music dls, wherre can I get ringtones for my tracfone? Btw, I don't mind paying for them, I just don't know where to get them.

  • thanks for the msconfig! fat shit

  • i love how u know anti viruses dont do shit. tbh all u gotta do spreading a virus is crypt it with an FUD crypter and their goes any chance of an anti virus stopping u. most of its common sense

  • great info Pete, hope there's more

  • is a IT a person who fixes computers and builds them etc.?

  • @TheMarkyMarkos IT Stands for information technology, so that just generally means they deal with computers, although they don't necessarily build and maintain them.

  • Now that was One Informative Video...Please keep them coming!

  • Hell yea keep it up FAB

  • My god FAB good info very good video

    keep making these FAB

  • oh wow.. now i officially love you. interesting and now useful also and to think that at first i didnt like u at all

  • Found this helpful. Keep it up.

  • Oddly enough, I download music from torrents or direct downloads all the time, and yet I've never had a single virus on my computers, besides the ancient ones I downloaded with old 80s DOS programs that couldn't harm a fly at this point. Comodo Firewall + NOD32 (Avast! in the past); I've never had a problem. Malwarebytes works great too.

    Oh and it's Kaspersky lol.

Btw, how'd you get into all this computer stuff?

  • @metaleggman18 ...I knew I spelt that wrong...lol....

  • Good stuff. Very useful.

  • Cool..Thanks Pete. Put this in my favs.

    Peace

  • hey there more blogs bout stuff on computers would b a good idea. id like 2 c more plz

  • i honestly did not like most of your videos bc i subscribed from subscriber survivor but i actually really like this because I need better protection on my computer I have McAfee and its alerted me to a trojan (some of which are not trojans) I was wondering if you knew the best and safest place to get a computer cleaned??

  • @bukwurm16 ...bring it to me..lol.....take it to your local PC repairer mate??

  • @bukwurm16 ... go to Google and type in "PC Repair" and your town name. You should be able to come up with something on the first search page. Any IT person who can't get his name to show up on the first few pages of a google search probably isn't worth his cost. ;o) Good luck you ya! (If you are in or near Selden NY, give DJR Computing Services a shout, lol)

  • Great video, on Virus removal!
