You have to go to the game without winning any exp.

(Note: Bosses dont give exp)

Also abuse the "Firefly" Accessorie(the character that equips it dosent gain exp)

You can't, just avoid any battles until youget to the Stilshrine of Miriam, there you can get your first firefly.
