  • you can tell MJ had not started lifting yet. it was not until he got pissed after getting pushed and beat up by these guys this year did he start pumping iron

  • Pippen got hurt and the ref dragged him off the court?!?!?!?! That shit would never happen today.

  • What a Class act Jordan was in defeat, unlike Isiah Thomas

  • Thats how you do it.. at the end... great sportsmanship.

  • fuck jordan

  • jordan went in but john paxson was a beast!!!

    \

  • this is bs one sided video

  • The respect that they gave MJ was amazing. Damn near everybody from both teams gave him his props for his performance.

  • I've got a question. How is 1:17 not a travel on Jordan. I'm not complaining or anything like that, I'm just honestly curious how three full steps while carrying is not a call?

As I've said I'm not an avid basketball fan. All google/wiki definitions say more than one step with the non pivot foot. Doesn't this count? and if not, why not?

    Thanks

  • @fiftypercentrick what in the fuck do you mean how is it not a travel? jordan gives the ball up catches the ball back. then jordan dribbles the ball back on the ground, he then does a hop step and, he's in the air.....are you fuckin serious?

  • @fiftypercentrick after Jordan received the pass, he dribbled the ball once with his left hand, then proceeded to attack the basket with a two-foot gather/reverse lay-up. He is allowed to use a "two-foot gather" (kind of like dunking the ball off of two-feet) after a dribble. A 2-foot gather or commonly referred to as a "drop step" is allowed after the discontinuation of a player's dribble.

By the way..... I am a life long Pistons fan too.

  • Collins would've won championships had he stayed. Jackson is no Genius, just always walked into great situations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @burbonboy I agree that Jackson did get to coach some great teams, but if you've ever heard interviews with players that played for him when they won (Chicago & LA), you hear the same thing over and over - that Phil Jackson was very instrumental in their success. Also, I think Doug Collins would have won at least 1 title had he remained with the Bulls. There was just too much, budding talent on that team. That, coupled with Michael's amazing drive to win would have produced some titles.

  • @burbonboy Jordan even says that Jackson was the missing piece that led them to win. Jordan could have willed them to win a championship at some later point with Collins as coach, but they could never have gotten past the Pistons with Collins as coach. Jackson and the Triangle was one of the main reasons the Bulls finally beat the Pistons. I don't think Jordan had faith in Collins, and you know he clearly respected Phil.

  • they stroke him 2 years in a row in the EC finals, and he came back first clinched in 1991, and swept detroit in the EC FINALS! OHHH HUMILIATION!!

  • Good point. Had Jackson been the Head Coach and the triangle had been inserted, perhaps Pippen & the others would've come around sooner. I believe the Bulls were more talented than Detroit in '90 (not '88 or '89), but the Pistons were more experienced, had endured the playoff wars against Boston and Los Angeles, and as returning Champs, were much better positioned to take the Bulls out. If Jackson would've taken over in '89 & brought the triangle in then, perhaps they could've done it in 1990.

  • @ilovegod300 Umm i'm gonna have to disagree with the bulls havin more talent in 90 than the pistons. Yes Pippen & H.Grant improved the yr b4 but they weren't at their full potential yet in 90 & those 3 were the only good players for the bulls. The 90 pistons had Isiah, Dumars, Rodman, Aguirre, Edwards, Laimbeer, Vinnie, Salley, etc. That team was deep & the bulls were not.

  • @hangtime23ful You are correct from an individual player standpoint, but in overall talent as a team, I think the Bulls were a notch higher. Part of that was certainly their youth, athleticism, and as you correctly mentioned, Jordan, Pippen, and Grant. Regardless, the Pistons were more mentally tough, playoff tested, and driven to repeat. Only MJ could match the Pistons mentally at that point, with the exception of maybe Cartwright. As history has taught us, the most talented don't always win.

  • Collins wasn't the reason the Bulls didn't win in 89&90. The Pistons were hungrier&more experienced. Michael could match their intensity & drive, but the rest of the team couldn't. In 91, the TEAM was ready. Keep in mind - when the Pat Riley Knicks came along a few years later, the Bulls were a veteran, playoff tested team and could overcome the bully tactics & bad boy style. The 94 Bulls WITHOUT Jordan, just about knocked the Knicks off. Pippen, Grant & gang had emerged like the 89-90 Pistons.

  • @ilovegod300 True, but keep in mind that after Collins was fired and Jackson came in, Phil brought in the triangle offense, which was fundamentally different from the sets that Doug used to run, because it gave a lot more responsibility and involvement to the other players than MJ. This proved necessary in order to build up the supporting cast against the Pistons. Who knows what would've happened if the Bulls had the triangle (or some other equal opportunity offense) since 1987 or so...

  • This was Doug Collins last game as Bulls Head Coach. The question I always ask Bulls fans is: "Was it Doug Collins' that kept the Bulls from the NBA crown in the late 89 & 90 or did they just run into superior Piston teams?"

  • after the bulls lost the series Michael should have left and signed with the lakers to join forces with magic and Larry bird to win tons of CHAMPIONSHIPS YES oh wait...... thats Lebron sorry

  • This is when Pippen was soft! Mike saw the potential and helped mold Pippen. Google the "Breakfast Club" and I aint talking bout the movie.

  • That move at 7:50 on Rodman was pure basketball poetry...

  • skinny Jordan was a phenom, unbelievable offensively and defensively, Bryant was never anything like this & never will be he's too old I know we're the same age

  • Chuck Daily's (R.I.P.) face is priceless @ 1:28...haha...he's thinkin how the hell MJ beats his patented 'Jordan Rules'...haha...MJ is the best!

  • Unlike Jordan, Dumars and Laimbeer had the heart of a champion.

  • @WVDave26 What defines the heart of a champion? Cause whatever heart you're describing I know I don't want lol

  • Thank god Jordan didn't bail on us like Lebron.

  • fouln does not mean the defense was bettr.a SG(jordan) gettn fould goin 2 da basket by a PF(rodman, lambier) does not mean tha Dfense was tuffr or bettr. it jus mean they gameplan was 2 foul. Now a PF(gerald wallace, lamar odom, kevin garnatt) can stick wit playrs a little on tha perimeter. id rathr b matchd against a slowr PF any day and KNOWIN ima get fould! eventually im gonna go 2 da line nd they will foul out! Especially wit tha JORDAN WHISTLES tha refs had.

  • PIPPEN ACTED LIKE A LIL BTCH THIS GAME. HE LET DETROIT GOT IN HIS HEAD.

  • 1989 was the start of a great rivalry between the Bulls and Pistons

  • Yeah, so classy. Forcing Team USA to keep Isiah Thomas off of the Dream Team. What class. What a fucking cry baby is more like it. He's the greatest basketball player of all time, but he's also a horrible person.

  • @holygoat MJ could be worse like costing his team 11.6 million bucks in a lawsuit for sexual harassment and tossing his daughter under the bus claiming she OD when it she didnt but dear old dad did, so MJ all by himself forced USA to keep Zeke off huh thats interesting cuz according Magic "Isiah killed his own chances nobody wanted him on that team" also concoting a freeze out of a rookie I wont cry for him Argentina great point guard a worse person than MJ could ever dream to be

  • Kobe Fantards listen up. Kobe is a overrated superstar in the NBA. KObe Fantards thinking kobe is better than Magic Johnson, Larry bird, Bill Russel, Kareem, Wilt, Jordan are delusional.

  • @earnnest82 overrated?????????? ima jordan fan from the 90s but ur so fukn stupid but ur not the only typical mj fans cant get over that mj is done and its kobe time now kobe is on his way to goat status

  • I wonder if the 1989 Pistons or 1986 Bulls could beat todays Lakers

  • they would not beat but sweep

  • @tatomuck18 I'm sure Pistons and the Bulls will make the today's lakers will beat and look like a fool. Kobe will cry and will call a help from david stern against the ferocious defense by the 1989 pistons and 1986 Bulls. Kobe Fantards at it's best tsk tsk

  • @earnnest82 dnt get kobe confused wit lebron and mj with help from stern!! cuz if u didnt kno Tim Donaghy and mj were good friends!!!!!!!!!!! and he reffered 5 of his finals esp. game 6 in utah!! dumbass

  • RegEJr i was reading your comments and i respect you, not trying to start anything but i disagree. From 2004-2007 Jordan would of been pretty much in the same position as Kobe. We had players such a Kwame Brown who was a bust and smush parker. The only decent player was Lamar Odom, and Brian Cook would wake up every now and then. In 2006 the Lakers would of made it to the semi finals against the Clippers but it was game 6 that screwed us. They didnt defend Tim Thomas well at the last second.

  • 1:20

I've seen this shot 10000000 times.....

  • A couple things about Jordan.

    1. he inspires me to get off my lazy ass and replay certain plays cuz of how goddamn quick and agile he is. absurd.

    2. in today's no hand check era he could average 45.

like simmon's said, look at steve nash's stats when handchecking was allowed. he was average.

  • Lmao at how the tall white guy is running at 1:15

  • If you put Jordan on the Laker's teams of 2004-2007 the are atleast conference semi finalist if not conference champions. Kobe is GREAT but doesnt bring out the best in his supporting cast the way Jordan does in the way of having his teammates play up to his level. Kobe is great on teams that are already good. And btw Magic is the greatest Laker of all-time.

  • In other words, I think the NBA has been watered down. It's just not as competitive anymore... A few years ago I heard some even say T. McGrady is better that Scottie Pippen was. I wonder how many people would say that now. The difference between Kobe and Jordan is this... Jordan makes his team better and wills victory. Kobe wins when he has other stars around him ( I mean they already have to be All-Stars before he plays with them).

  • I hate that Kobe is even mentioned in the same breath as Jordan, Magic, or Bird. Kobe is GREAT but plays in an era where the defender cannot touch you. If Jordan could not be touched while defending him he would have easily scored 40+ pts per game. I also think that dunks and athletic ability don't equal better player as people seem to think about players today vs 15 - 20 yrs ago. The guys today have a more difficult time hitting the open jumper and lesser ability to play good team basketball.

  • 0.21 fuking crazy!!!!

  • I can respect that opinion. Magic wasn't as individually dominant as Kobe and MJ , but winning is what Magic cared about. Kobe knows something about that too.

  • And Michael doesnt seeing as he has more rings than both of them?

  • Pause at 1:29. Hahahahaha!!! That's classic!!! R.I.P. Chuck Daly.

  • @The NAMETHEBEST: You are absolutely right! NOBODY will be so good like Michael Jordan. He is just a legend. Kobe Bryant is, how you said - far far away from him...

sure, kobe bryant is very very good, but not good enough for Michael Jordan

  • Magic is the best of all-time. He could play all 5 positions, and score 3 points and still dominate a game. Michael is the greatest shooting guard of all-time, not the best player of all-time. He epitomizes the individual aspect of basketball. Magic epitomizes the teamwork concept. Michael couldn't even win a single game against Larry Bird in the playoffs, 0-6, and is 11-23 against him all-time. Magic beat Bird twice in the Finals, and is 2-1 in the Finals against Birdman.

  • I agree in some aspects but look at this way, Everyone is playing agianst different talent and athletic levels. Now a days i would have to say there are better players and better athletes than when michael was playing. There both great but im gonna give the edge to Kobe. Magic was just an all around great player but he wasnt as dominate as Kobe is. All amazing players and excellent defenders.

  • All that says is that the Celtics of the 80's were a better team than the Bulls of the 80s. Michael didnt pick his teammates management did. Larry got lucky coming to a team and then being surrounded by 3 people on the 50 greatest team with Larry being #4. Michael only had Scottie who came into his own in the 90s. Your comparing apples to oranges. If you put Michael on the Lakers or Celtics of the 80s & put Magic or Larry on those shitty Bulls teams then what would u say? ur argument is bullshit

  • And Michael is the greatest of all time period. Magic, Larry, DrJ, Oscar Robertson, Wilt, Jerry West, Bill Russell are all in his class but Jordan is the GOAT!!!

  • fuck joe crawford

  • the only guy who can play similiar to mj is dwyane wade. similiar offensive moves as well as defensive intimidation

  • 89 pistons was the greatest team ever

  • air jordan was so great, so good. i dont know why they compare kobe to jordan. kobe he need to watch this game before talk to the champ. kobe far.. far.. far.. away

  • He's so dominating and at the same time is able to do it with such grace and smoothness. He's simply the greatest and THE king.

  • Damn 20 year anniversary

  • Jordan shakes hand after, not like sore loser Queen James

  • lol queen james ...i like that...brings me to a question...can u tell me y the fuck he is called king james? what the fuck is lebron king of? just wondering if u knew bc i sure as hell cant figure it out..MJ 4 life

  • With Scottie,it would be their first ring....

  • baaaad boyyys baaaad booooyyyyyyss

    '89 pistons= world champs

    good series though

  • I think 89 was Jordan's best non championship playoff year He had so many memrable moments like The Shot the shot @ 1:35 the entire series vs New York. It was unbelievable and i think Chicago was the 6th or 7th seed that year

  • yeah michael had to suffer disappointment against the pistons for 3 years in a row before he was able to beat them in 1991

  • Bulls had no chance against the bad boyspippen and grant were string beans, Cartwright and sellers were garbage, Hodges hated MJ and corzinewell corzine was corzine!

  • Hodges didnt hate MJ they were very close

  • Everytime I see a vid where Mike splits a double team....and with such grace and effortlessness...makes it look so easy....just beautiful!

  • Yes the Pistons were a great championship team at the end of the 80's probbaly one of the greatest defensive teams that I have ever seen. Plus the three guard offense and defensive attack that they had was a little too much for the Lakers in the end as well. Jordan was big in this game because he kept them in it and carried them as far as they could go.

  • what do you think about Jordan shooting form , pretty?

  • i just love hubie brown as commentator very imformative and fun to listen too...who was the other commentator does anyone know?

  • The other commentator was Dick Stockton.

  • thanks

  • he sounds the same today as he did 20 years ago

  • Hahaha, how great was it that the ref just pulled pippen out of the court instead of blowing the whistle. I miss the old nba... Today is to much bling, tatoos and attitude. This is all about the game.

  • starks 23 couldnt argue with you at all. fine performance and great fact about those 89 Pistons. they were no joke. the steal and finish by mj is my favorite moment. unfuckinreal

  • dat spin move by jordan was nasty dumars got it

  • how classy in defeat, unlike the piston bitches

  • lol...pistons went out like lil hoes..didnt even congradulate the way mj did...hahaha

  • Yeah, so classy. Forcing Team USA to keep Isiah Thomas off of the Dream Team. What class. What a fucking cry baby is more like it. He's the greatest basketball player of all time, but he's also a horrible person.

  • @holygoat Actually Jordan wasn't the only guy who didn't want him on the team. Know your facts. The majority voted not to have Thomas in the dream team. Get your facts straight noob.

  • @holygoat

i'm not holding up the merits of them as overall people here. this isn't the moral police here. I'm just simply commenting on how they respond to losing, at this moment in history. and wait, you're defending isiah thomas? you want on mulligan on that?

  • @victorjulio15 your mom

  • @thenintendogamer well played....

  • @victorjulio15 How dare you critisize... critisise... however the hell you spell it.... the Piston's desicions and moves! off with your head

  • @thenintendogamer spellcheck bro....

  • @victorjulio15 Internet Explorer doesn't have that

  • 13 asts and should've had more just off dropped passes and missing bunnies

  • I remember this series like it was yesterday,"The Bad Boys" were just too deep for Michael and The Bulls that season and the next. It just shows how great a player MJ was, he still averaged 30+ against one of the greatest defensive teams of all time. The NBA needs to put some of these great playoff series on DVD and let these youngin's see how great the NBA Playoff were.

  • Joe Dumars had a fucking J'

  • Pippen was a wuss in his early years. If he wasn't so intimidated easily the Bulls might have gotten past Detroit a year or two earlier.

  • i would say otherrs were wuss

  • and i don't give a shit bill laimbeer shoulda been ejected from this game. Inadvertently? ARE YOU SURE. Who brings their arms down when tryin to volley a rebound? Never saw Rodman try to do that in all the years of watching him be the best rebounder of all time.

ok it's most likely an accident, but still.

  • the pistons swept the lakers that year and 9 guys avgd 20 min, but you failed to mention that magic did not play in the finals, he was injured, so it was a blowout

  • magic did play in da finals.magic played in game 1. in game 2 in about da 3rd/4th quarter datz wen he got injured

  • jordan should have had atleast 19 assists his teammates weren't hitting the easy shots he found for them that's why they loss

  • Dat move at 3:20 where he split the double team before getting hammered....graceful! "Like he was in slow motion," as Hubie Brown would say.

  • when people think of jordan they think of a 35year old player with that last second shot against the jazzz in 1998 nba finals, but people are forgetting jordan as whole career perspective and when u really think u know he was the greatest of all time!!

  • That move at 2:20 was freakin quick

  • damn! it's been 15 tears since this game was on

  • i mean 19 years

  • growing up and being able to watch michael from his rookie years up til he retired it was a real privilege that i am happy to have had. after watching last night how Kobe dismantled the spurs and hearing the commentators make the jordan comparisons it really made me laugh. kobe is nowhere near as good as jordan was, against the physical defense of original bad-boys, kobe would probably sit in a corner and cry. same with bronbron. nowadays the NBA is full of pansies and its not the same game.

  • pistons suck ass...

  • Agreed. It bothers the hell out of me how easily some people (ie. kids and idiots) forget MJ's dominance throughout his career. It doesn't help that media idiots like Greg Anthony, Mark Jackson, etc. try to assert that Kobe is on par with MJ. What a bunch of clowns.

  • Anyone who thinks the defense in the 80s and early 90s wasn't as good as in today's game doesn't know anything about basketball, and they know they know nothing about basketball. Plus, you want to talk about real crybabies? How about being so pissed off you lost, no got SWEPT by the team you thought you controlled you just walked off the court with your heads down in your chest. That's the worst type of cry baby. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them held their breath in protest too!

  • If bron were to play in this era he would just sit on the floor and cry to the refs for calls.

  • Yo blackadam06! That was beautiful research, man. Teach those HOBE lovers who the real KING is. And i ain't talkin' bout Lebron. LOL

  • cool, this was beer drinking good!

  • MJ's WIZARDS avgs: 21 ppg, 4 apg & 4 rpg "42% FG"

KB FINALS avgs: 22.1 ppg, 4 apg, 5 rpg, "41.6% FG"

KB CAREER avgs: 24.4 ppg, 4.3 apg, 5.1 rpg, "45% FG"

Again, MJ at Age 40, on a BUM Knee, went out & in "2 YRS", vs these SAME Pseudo Zones, put up AVERAGES that R virtually IDENTICAL to kobe's CAREER averages!

As previously stated, kobe's production didn't pick up until AFTER they changed the defensive rules! That ALONE, is what's ALLOWED him 2 even be MENTIONED in this conversation!

  • wow that was a lot of information

thanks for that, and sorry for my wrong opinion

too bad for me I saw jordan only in videos

ok after that I change my opinion and say jordan would have 40 ppg today

but my opinion that he is the best ever is the same ;-)

  • wow, playing against jordan is like "ok let him play, there is nothing we can do against it. let's see if we could cool down the other 4 guys"

    @zodiiak:

Kobe would be able to score 30 ppg in that time, because there was no zone defense.

jordan could not score 50 points a game nowadays, the defense is much better than in the 80's

  • r u kidding me? the defense is better now? wow man. i would like to know how you figure that. defensive 3 seconds? give jordan a wide open lane? phil jackson said himself if jordan played in today's league he'd avg. 40 a game.

  • you just have to look at the points

in the 80's there were at least 3 players that had over 30ppg

I think jordan would have much more assists today, because his game was based on one on one, but against that barricade today in the zone it's not possible anymore.

    look at iverson

  • watch?v=kp53zWynjh4 <--- Breakdown of MJ vs 80's defenses

PPL who claim MJ never played against zones, R liars & SERIOUSLY UNINFORMED..For starters, MJ ripped up & trained AGAINST them in college! We don't have REAL Zones in the NBA today! The 3 sec Rule prevents it from being as such! There WAS no 3 Sec Rule in '89 & Big Men could stay planted in the paint to defend the rim, as LONG as they WANTED!

Want proof? Past that link in your browser & educate yourself. MJ faced that EVERY Night!

  • "his game was based on one on one"

What?! MJ, THIS SAME YEAR ('89), got placed in the pt guard position the last 24 games that yr. He wound up AVERAGING 32ppg 8apg & 8rpg & was coming off his 2nd yr IN A ROW, with OVER 200 steals & 100 blocks & had wound up with 15 triple doubles!

Magic's BEST season for that was 18, MJ almost bested that & he'd ONLY ran the pt guard position the LAST 24 games of the season! No one, who's game is "based on 1 on 1" play does that! WTF R U talkin' about?

  • "Kobe would be able to score 30 ppg in that time"

U fool! his #'s didn't pick up until "AFTER" they changed the Rules!

    KB when handchecking was legal:

    561 games - 21.77 ppg on 42% shooting

KB the last 3 yrs of legal handchecking:

    227 games - 24.59ppg on 43% shooting

KB "SINCE" the new Anti-Handchecking Rule:

    223 games - 31.75 ppg on 46% shooting

U think ALL of this is mere coincidence? Please! They changed the rules to aid these fundamentally challenged guys of today!

  • "jordan could not score 50 points a game nowadays, the defense is much better than in the 80's "

It was in 2001 vs these SAME pseudo Zones he scored 40+ pts, 6 times after a 3 yr layoff & on a bum knee & "WELL" past his prime! Wasn't it after turning age 40, MJ AVERAGED 23.2 pts, 7.2 reb. 4.1 ast, 1.5 stls, 1.0 blks on 46.2%? There R ONLY 5 perimeter players TODAY, that avg at least 18+ ppg 5apg & 5apg & they are kobe, T-mac, A.I., the other A.I & Lebron!

What the hell R U smokin?

  • This is the real deal. NBA today don't have nothing on this. wow. I've forgotten what real basketball looked like. Not this watered down crap they're feeding us today thats for sure.

  • Do you think Kobe could even break 30 in a game like this? Are you kidding me man. They feed today's NBA players points by sending them to the line all day. Jordan would drop 50 a game in today's NBA.

  • Too bad they lost the series

  • Real NBA. None of this 2008 bullshit. Wusses.

This was the era that real men played. 1989.

  • I agree w/ you totally on that b/c today's NBA is pure bullshit.

  • Yeah dude. And all those born yesterday is think that the zone is much harder than the defense in the 80's. These are the myths of Kobe fans:

    1) Zone is much harder. (wrong: how about punching and elbowing without penalty and ejection)

    2) Always think of the Bulls when Rodman was in that team. They don't realized, Rodman and Jordan were nemesis.

    3) kobe is better than Jordan.

    4) That Jordan was a 90's man(I thought Jordan was baptized in the 80's).

  • When Rodman came he was well over his prime

  • Real NBA. None of this 2008 bullshit. Wusses.

This was the era that real men played. 1989.

  • no9 mamen estos weyes son la verga

  • wow...at 00:28 they played the game like it was Rugby (player gets hurt and play continues around him)!

In this game (Pip elbowed), '90 ECF game 7 (Pip's Migraine headache), and '98 Finals game 6 (Pip pulls back)...all decisive games of their respective series, Pip always seems to get hurt...

  • In 1998, Pippen hurt his back early in the series from taking all the charges from Karl Malone. He was incredible until the back gave out.

  • ilcapo92 fuck you and fuck anyone else who can't stomach Detroit.

  • how dare they compare kobe to MJ,not even close...

  • please kobe is the closest thing to mj ever. kobe is the second best player in nba history jordan #1

  • kobe is a sucka compared to MJ

  • stop lying to yourself

  • umm....how about no...2nd best behind MJ (yes its capitalized bc he is the GOAT) would be Magic Johnson or Larry Bird at the least....fucking kobe hasnt even accomplished what they have, so how the fuck can u say he is better than them

  • @ilcapo92 He's got fiiiiiiive! But Kobe is Kobe and Michael is Michael. Michael wouldn't win it all without Scottie anyway. Michael didn't even post a winning record without Pippen.

  • @Rucks90 And kobe wouldn't have won his rings without Shaq Horry Gasol Bynum Odom Fisher Ariza & Artest. Kobe 5 wins and 2 losses 2 finals mvp. MJ 6 wins 0 losses 6 finals mvp all without a domiant center. MJ would have been 8 maybe 9 wins and 8 or 9 finals mvp if he didn't quit those 1st 2 times. MJ's the undisputed king of his 6 rings. MJ's the GOAT PERIOD....................................................................... deal with it.

  • @hangtime23ful He's the greatest. But he had alot of help. Jordan had Pippen, Kukoc, Paxson, Armstrong, Grant, Longley, and Harper to win 6 total. Scottie helped him win those titles in addition. They almost reached the conference finals one year without him. Kobe on the other hand won 5 titles with a different lineup, with and without Shaq. He's a great leader, but different from Michael. I always thought he was a better shooter than MJ, my opinion. But Kobe is Kobe, MJ IS MJ. Both are Top 5.

  • @Rucks90 OF course he had help, it's called basketball. It's not a game of 1 vs 5. But Jordan made a lot of B-ball players on the Bulls look like All stars.

  • @Rucks90 Kobe? top 5? no merit for that whatsover. top 20? yeah. he has had too many hit and miss performances to be top 5. he is not better than jordan. magic. bird. kareem. wilt. oscar. olajuwon. duncan. shaq. and west. all were played through conflict better and came through in the clutch better. kobes clutch performances are overrated when compared to others. shoots less than 40% in game winning situations. this past season he actually shot the ball well in game winning situations

  • @Rucks90 jordan had alot of help? harper was way past his prime when he came to the bulls. longley is a average center. armstrong struggled playing with jordan. grant was solid but not exceptional. kukoc as well. shaq counts for at least 3-4 of those players by impact alone. kobe struggled in alost of situations that jordan would have thrived in such as the game in this video against a superior team. how many times has kobe choked against superior teams outside of 01 playoffs?

  • @chitownmo Um, what about Scottie? He is in the hall of fame right? He had a lot help.

  • @Rucks90 he is but he is not shaq neither. pippen developed over several seasons. shaq was dominant from day 1.

  • @chitownmo yea yea yea right! lol.

  • the pistons are fags...GO BULLS!!!

  • don't know what the hell happened with Cartwright in this game, 1 for 8?

  • For the jackass below who is complaining that you are only showing bulls highlights, no fucking shit! He's a Michael Jordan fan, therefore he is showing Michael Jordan highlights! What about that don't you understand dipshit!

  • I like the comment at 4:26 "he's playing his own game", which i think is what michael did, everyone else was playing basketball, while jordan was always on another level of the sport.

  • MJ is THE BEST.PERIOD.

  • chuck daly was an amazin coach espically on defence, shame isiah was injured durin the lakers series in 88 or we would of been 3 times champ then.

  • Isn't it funny how this could've been the greatest rivarly ever? Isiah got injured badly twice and Dumars was worn out in the '91 playoffs and Detroit never threatened again with that group. The group Detroit has now underplays to their potential. But, Detroit did beat Chicago in last year's playoffs. And, we should appreciate the players we rooted for. None of them play now. Athletes come and go so quickly.

  • As a Piston fan, it's funny how all is shown here is Bull's Highlights the Pistons were the "Bad Boys", but at least they were not the "Cry Babys". Also BTW - Doug Collins was driven out of Chicago by MJ.

  • well duh, this is a bulls and michael jordan fan posting this video, what else would a bulls fan, a michael fan be posting videos of.

  • the real cry babies were the dirty playing pistons, when they finally got their asses swept in 91,they showed their true colors by not shaking hands with the opponent in defeat, classless assholes all of them who walked off...isaiah,their leader sucked back then and sucks today as the soon to be fired knicks coach, fuck detroit

  • Jordan was so gracious in defeat, shaking the hands of almost every Piston player after the game. Its important to remember that when Detroit finally lost to the Bulls, they refused to shake Jordan's hand or any of the Bulls players. That play at the 1:23 mark was off the hook.

  • So this was the game where Jordan made that famous move, up in the air and over his head. "One for the books indeed!"

  • Michael gave his heart on this one..It was heartbreakin. Who knows what could have happened if they forced it to seven. Not even MJ could take a team like the Pistons all by himself, but he sure died hard. The greatest.

  • yeah Jordan was rejected three years in a row by the Pistons, but this story has a happy ending

  • It's 4 years in a row. In the late 80's, the real championship game was actually Bulls vs Pistons. The west didn't matter anymore. Although an ankle injury by Isiah allowed the Lakers to repeat in '88. The west wouldn't win again until '94.

  • i thought it was 3. Wasn't it 1988, 1989, and 1990, and then the Bulls swept the Pistons in 1991? And yeah the Lakers won in 1988 in 7 games, even with Isaiah injured

  • The rivalry started in '87. Just one season after MJ's legendary 63-point outburst against the Celtics. Detroit failed to deny Boston their 4th straight finals appearance row that year.

  • paydog23 means playoff meetings, they started to match up in '88.

  • That look on Daly's face after the blind 360 layup is priceless, especially while hearing the crowd's reaction. LOL

  • Unbelievable clip yet again. This reminded me of Leonidas in 300. Jordan single handedly kept the Bulls in the game all the while playing 1v5.

  • Man, I remember watching this as a kid. While watching it here now, I was hoping that the Bulls will win this game, then take game 7, then go to the 1989 Finals and win it all. Same feeling I had in 89. This Bull playoff run started with the Cavs, then Knicks. They were underdogs throughout. Thanks Starks23!

  • (cont) I don't think people really understand the difficulty of what he did there. His footwork was immaculate, and he did it so naturally -- the game just flowed out of him so purely.

  • The play at 3:09 is incredible. He gives like half a dozen jukes and fakes with the dribble, then splits the double, then has the presence of mind to gather himself with a slight hop-step and measure his steps to jump off his LEFT LEG for what was going to be a lefty finish before they fouled him. All of this in perfect rhythm and with perfect form. Sorry folks, but that is NOT easy to do. Wow. (cont)

  • jesus, that play at 1:20 is so amazing. I can't imagine anyone else in the history of the nba puling that off with so much ease.

  • Since Pistons swept the Lakers in the finals, do you guys think Bulls would have won the championship had they somehow managed to get past the Pistons?

I'd say it's very much possible.

  • One of my favourite MJ games after the 'Van Gundy game' vs Knicks and game 7 Bulls Knicks eastern conference finals as uploaded by Hoopsencyclopedia where Jordan was on a mission to prove a point...

I have this one on tape also.. At 2:20, the baseline spin is lightning fast. Not just the physical movement, but the ability to read the defence... just too fast... The best 1st quarter effort ive ever seen.

  • Jordan's elevation is phenominal. It looks like he's deciding what to as he rises! I hurt a groin running, it took months to heal. The pain is paralyzing. I appreciate Jordan's heart!

p.s. their four off the bench either started in the past or could've started anywhere.
