Surely the best way is to strike low - the higher you strike, the smaller the number of people trapped above. Not only that, the "terrorists" flew over a nuclear power site which, if they had crashed into it (it would have been a lot sooner on their journey than WTC) would have ensured the death of millions of people. If they'd waited an hour, WTC would've been filled with 50,000 people. So Bush and Silverstein blew the WTC at a time and heigh to minimise deaths - I'll grant them that.

@WhatDeFrock Looks like someone has their eyes shut,videos clearly show the building turning into dust as it is brought down.Photographic Evidence clearly shows a pile of rubble no higher than half way up WTC 6 an 8 story bldg.First responder Battalion chief Richard Picciotto emerged from being trapped in a stairwell reported in an interview 6 days later the pile was no more than 30 or 40 feet high.
This is from TWO 110 story high towers.
The pile should be 10 storys high at least.

Other steel buildings have collapsed due to fire Windsor Madrid 2005, Mumbai high north platform 2005, Dogwood Elementary School Virginia 2000, Kader factory Singapore 1997, Interstate 580 2007. So why is it so difficult for people to accept that a building hit by a 200 ton bullet that severs 15% of it's support columns, damages others and blasts off fire proofing can collapse too?

@Spindry96 - those other buildings burned for over 10 hours...the towers were made to withstand an impact from a jet....the engineer who designed the building stated that once the stresses were distributed the buildings would not have fallen....most of the fuel was burned outside the buildings and by the time they collapsed the fires were burning black, meaning they were oxygen starved....NIST and the Underwrites both stated in their final reports that the "pancaking" theory was not adequate

@fowzie777 - to explain the collapse....the buildings fell basically straight down INTO the path of MOST resistance...girders weighing tons were ejected over 300 feet from the buildings....explosions were reported on the eighth floor and in the sub levels under the buildings...overpressure ejections can be seen 20 stories below the collapsing column....building 7 was not hit by a plane and fell straight down...you probably think OJ was innocent too...

@fowzie777 No one claims the impact of the jets caused the towers to fall but they did contribute by severing strucural beams, starting the fires and most critically blasting off fire proofing that was already deficient. Areas in the towers did burn very hot. Just before the collapse of WTC 1/2 and 7 areas of the faces of the towers near the fires are clearly warping. This is not caused by explosion.
