  • i just switched to virtualbox...WOW fuck vmware

  • hi, i want install it , i maked all as you , but when i click on START it show me: FATAL : No bootable medium found! System halted... Man please say me what i doing bad :) tnx for answer

  • thanks

  • @FuzzyGuidesVideos Thanks

  • @FuzzyGuidesVideos Whats your computer specs?

  • @andobkny

    The PC I used had:

    Motherboard: Asus P5N-E SLI

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 OC to 2.6GHz

    RAM: 8GB DDR2 800MHz

    GPU: Ati Radeon 2400 PRO 256MB GDDR2

    HDD: 1x250GB SATA II + 1x500GB SATAII

However, this spec can easily run multiple VMs at the same time, a build half as good as this could still run Ubuntu in VirtualBox well.

  • hi. which program/theme are you using at the background(which shows cpu usage and memory...)? can u share how i install/get it?

  • @mustafa817 Look for my video called "Rainmeter Install on Windows 7", that shows how to install it and set it up. I'd link but YouTube doesn't allow URIs in the comments.

  • Very well done! Your video was very helpful. Thank you

  • Fixed that but now i have a new problem!

    I can't logon into ubuntu!

  • @v1Broadcaster The only thing I can think of is that there is something wrong with the ISO image you're using, check the MD5 sum with winMD5Sum, if it does work make sure you're using the i686 iso.

  • What version of vmware are u using??Im using 6.5 and cant configure the video memory like you.BTW what do u mean by upgrade before installing??What are u suppose to upgrade? Please help =)

  • @MoHaWkStReEkErZ This is not VMWare, it is VirtualBox, which is a free alternative to VMWare, and better at certain stuff. As for your last question, I you will need to install Ubuntu in the VM, and then perform a full upgrade (as demonstrated in the video) in Ubuntu. After that you will need to install the VirtualBox tools so that Compositing can be enabled. If you install the tools and then upgrade Compiz will break because the kernel will be upgraded and the tools will not work.

  • @FuzzyGuidesVideos Hey thanks alot for a quick reply, really appreciate it.Cool im a look into using VB,one more question though,Do u think Id be able to use aircrack-ng with VB?I can use it on VMWare but i cant type "SU" or hide my mac address cuz I keep gettin a message saying permission denied or Im not authorized to use it,Weird huh??

  • @MoHaWkStReEkErZ Hi. aircrack-ng needs a compatible wireless card chipset to be able to monitor and/or sniff packets, being that VirtualBox does not give the guest direct access to the card, and instead creates a virtual NIC, I doubt that this will work.

As for "hiding" your MAC address in a guest, this seems a little pointless, as you're behind a NAT by default anyway. And to become root you can use "sudo -s" in a vanilla Ubuntu installation.
