Neither WT or Delain have been world wide mainstream, WT have done well with their new album and still might get more attention as well as delain with their new album this year. And Amy did fire one band member. Either way they are all amazing artists.

....but amy is what brought the attention to these other bands, that is if you live outside of their country and were never familiar with them to begin with...and please don't say that amy copied, because the original Nightwish and Within temptation started around 10 or more years ago. when i first discovered, and that's about the time amy came out with her songs. Maybe their was an influence, but theirs alot of influence on this music. Amy's still good though.
But you are absolutely wrong -Evanescence absolutely did NOT bring any attention to either band. Nightwish already had legions and legions of fans on a worldwide scale since before Amy Lee was even signed. I'm talking '98-99 at most (around when Oceanborn came out). Ev was founded in '95 if I'm not mistaken but they didn't release a record until 2003, ex-including their demo in 2000 .
As for WT -- they were already big in the underground scene with Enter (1998 I believe -- could be wrong). When they changed their sound and became more mainstream, the band was recognized pretty much anywhere after they released Mother Earth with Ice Queen as their breakthrough song. That was in 2001, two years before Ev had an album. By the time Ev was being played on MTV, WT already had fans all over the world, and they became just as famous as Ev in the US with WHYD in 2006.
As far as commercial bands go, Evanescence is definitely one of the best, but it just doesn't touch Nightwish, Epica, Delain, WT, and so on.
The fact that Evanescence can hardly even be considered a band anymore doesn't help either. Amy Lee needs to get off her high horse and stop firing everybody.
amy didnt fire any one they left on their own accord!! and all those bands u mentioned plus after forever are all just as amazing even tho my fave r epica and after forever.Evanescence is still a really gud band and i cnt w8 till she comes bk!
