  • Fuckin Jimmy DeGrasso!!

  • 4:53 Hmmm, Washington is Next? :P

  • @TrainOfShaggy It sounds like it, although Washington is Next was created 5 years later lol

  • This has got to be the best performance of any song, ever!

  • What the fuck its superhit even in Pakistan.

  • I find this AWESOME to masturbate to \m/

  • @MoonMoney1 .........NOT :D

  • @CoolKwstas123 No, Metallica is definitely better.

  • @MoonMoney1 Metallica are musically nowhere near as good as Megadeth, they might write catchier songs but at the end of the day the technical ability shown in this video could never be matched by Metallica.

  • @HardcoreRunescaping No, musically Metallica is far more accomplished than Megadeth. Metallica has had a larger influence on metal, they've innovated far more than Megadeth, they've experimented with different sounds and different genres, whereas Megadeth does the same thing over and over. It's easy to be technical when you practice and play the same thing over and over again.

  • @MoonMoney1 Nah, Megadeth's albums never sound the same, I can easily tell the difference between Megadeth tracks and what album they're from, they're just far more advanced than Metallica. Kirk's a pretty average lead guitarist when you look at his ability in depth.

  • @HardcoreRunescaping No, actually all their albums sound the exact same, except for maybe Risk, a failed experiment. Clearly you're one of those people who only listens to one genre and think the musicians with the hardest to play songs are the best. Unfortunately, that kind of mentality does not take innovation into account, which Megadeth fails at. "Let's do what every musician before us did, but faster!" Bands like The Velvet Underground are way better due to their innovation.

  • @MoonMoney1 How did you get that from me thinking Megadeth are musically superior to Metallica? I happen to like a range of different genres, spanning from Jazz and Swing to Drum + Bass and Dubstep.

  • @HardcoreRunescaping Proof? Anyone can say they listen to a wide range of genres.

  • @HardcoreRunescaping And I got that from you basically saying Megadeth is better because their songs are harder to play. Megadeth has never had the innovation or the experimentation of Metallica.

  • @MoonMoney1 No Innovation? Dave Mustaine helped Metallica with their first Album, which was one of the first thrash metal albums. He also created some Guitar techniques, like the Spider Chord or the special positioning of his fingers in the "Washington is next" solo. The Riff of the Megadeth song "Holy Wars... The Punishment Due" is known for its impact on other metal artists. Even if Metallica had a bigger impact on Heavy Metal, you can't say Megadeth had none.

  • @TrippleQ "Let's do what has been done a million times before, but faster!"

Also, Dave Mustaine didn't invent the spider chord. That technique has been used since the baraque period. I guess you're just falling for Dave's obvious delusion. Metallica was much better in terms of innovation. They didn't find their heavy sound until Ride The Lightning. Kill 'Em All was a classic rock sound, just faster. That sound they found is pretty much the standard of metal now.

  • @TrippleQ Also Dave's departure from Metallica brought in a more melodic sound from the likes of James, Cliff, and Kirk. Metallica is without a doubt the most melodic of the big four, and it makes them the best. Their continued experimentation keeps me from getting bored of their music, whereas Megadeth has been treading the same crap for over ten years now.

  • @MoonMoney1 I didn't say that metallica wasn't innovative, they were the most important metal band in that time and maybe even to this day, but i sounds like you blame Mustaine for holding the band back, and they could not achieve all of their success with him. But that's just speculation. Lars Ulrich stated once, the band had that vision of beeing special, groundbreaking and sounding new. They wanted to put their music to a new level.

  • @TrippleQ And their music was more new an innovative with Dave out. Cliff and James were the innovators in the band.

  • @MoonMoney1 Sorry, but I think there is no causal connection in this statement. In Addition I think James Hetfield and lars were the most important people at Metallica, when it comes to songwriting. Hammet and Burton got credit, but they were not THAT important like James in the creative deparment. Also "Ride the Lightning" got a little Mustaine Riff in it! :D

  • @TrippleQ Not really. Lars would write the drum tracks, but that's pretty much it. James has always been the main songwriter in the band, and Cliff Burton taught the band music theory, introduced different sounds and influences to their music, and did a fair share of songwriting as well. Dave pretty much had nothing to do with any of their sound.

  • @MoonMoney1 Yes, Lars just wrote the drum tracks, but you can see him also often in the studio working together with the produtcion guys (at least in the making of death magnetic videos). When it comes to Cliff Burton, Metallica had their biggest Changes in musical style without him. AJFA -> Black Album -> Load/Reload were released within 8 Years and none of them sounds like the other.

  • @TrippleQ I'd say Lulu and the change from Kill 'Em All to Ride The Lightning were their largest changes. So for Metallica's classic stuff, Metallica's biggest changes WERE with Cliff in the band.

  • @MoonMoney1 For the classical stuff you are right, and even I think MOP was there greatest album. But Metallica got their biggest breakthrough with AJFA and the Black Album.

  • @TrippleQ Whether it was a breakthrough or not doesn't matter.

  • @MoonMoney1 So I think, the most important aspect about innovation is not the inspiration. More important is the decision which of the influences you use for your music and which not and I would assign James and Lars for this kind of decisions. If you take Newsted as an example, he had big problems influencing their music and just got writing credit on three of their songs and I think he would have had an bigger impact on the band, if James and Lars wanted him to help them out.

  • @TrippleQ If you read the book about Cliff Burton, you'd know that Cliff was a huge part of the decision making in the band. When he said something, the band pretty much all went with it.

  • @MoonMoney1 I have my problems with how most of the media treating dead people. In retrospect most of them are treated like a new messiah. The latest example is the death of Micheal Jackson, if you see how the media treated him before his death (pedophile etc.) and afterwards (one of the biggest musicians of all time), I rather tend to be in doubt with statements about people, who can't speak for themselves.

  • @TrippleQ So, then do you have proof that the "media" (a member of the media didn't write the book) lied?

  • @MoonMoney1 Lie is a strong word, I would just say in retrospect most people tend to beautify and idealize the past. The other way around you could also say, that none of the Metallica members denied the importance of Dave Mustaine and his work for Metallica. Another good example is Gar Samuelson: After his Death, Dave Mustaine stated that he thaught him everything about time, rhythm and feel, but while Samuelson was alive, they didn't spoke so nice of each other.

  • @TrippleQ So... do you have proof?

  • @MoonMoney1 Do YOU have a proof? :P It's more about believing in the legend, than pure facts written in stone.

  • @TrippleQ Yeah I have a book that was forwarded by one of the band members.

  • @MoonMoney1 Also, to say that there is no melody or harmony in the added 5 minutes of solo time in this is just stupid, you clearly have no theory knowledge whatsoever.

  • @HardcoreRunescaping No, I'm actually a theory expert. But nice straw man argument there. Bravo.

Proof technicality is a huge part of lead? You should listen to John Frusciante. A far better guitarist than any guitarist Megadeth has ever had and his lead playing isn't technical at all.

  • @MoonMoney1 Nice straw man argument saying you are a theory expert when you can't even explain the song I Don't Know by Ozzy, or compare and contrast 2 peoples guitar playing styles. Bravo.

  • @RiceKiller191 I explained it perfectly.

  • @MoonMoney1 Sure you did, if by perfectly you mean not even close.

  • @RiceKiller191 Nope, perfectly. See my awesome new video?

  • @MoonMoney1 No I didn't. Do you compare and contrast you 18in throck props for the sodomization factor?

  • @RiceKiller191 Yep.

  • @MoonMoney1 How'd it go?

  • @RiceKiller191 I did it perfectly.

  • @MoonMoney1 Oh, so I'm not a melodic judge? So one of my favourite bands, Children of Bodom, use no melody at all? Pfft, bitch please, you have no idea.

  • @MoonMoney1 Okay, so you're saying that Metallica are only the best because they're more melodic? That's the same logic as you trying to say I think Megadeth are better because they're more technical. Also, the last harmonizing solo before the drum solo is amazing melodically in this.

  • @HardcoreRunescaping No, I guess you aren't much of a melodic judge, because Megadeth have never been all that great at lead. Too much focus on technical skill and not enough of melody or emotion.

  • @MoonMoney1 Also, technicality is a huge part of lead, what use is a solo if anyone can play it? A solo is meant to be something that is a great challenge for people to learn...

  • @HardcoreRunescaping Ask Moonmoney to explain I Don't Know by Ozzy, Mainly what key it's in and how Randy plays it.

  • @MoonMoney1 And also, Lars is a terrible drummer. Fair enough Rob is an amazing flamenco guitar player, but his bass in Death Magnetic isn't that great.

  • @MoonMoney1 Metallica is worse than Justin Bieber dude...

  • @thestickskiller No, Metallica's the greatest metal band of all time.

  • @MoonMoney1 So why are u watching Megadeth videos? Stupid bad ass...

  • @thestickskiller To teach people about music.

  • @MoonMoney1 You are the biggest dumbass i've ever seen

  • @arkl1t3 washington is next!

  • @konejo197666 just playing on lower frets...:D

  • @konejo197666 impossible, washington is next came out way after this

  • @CrypticSweeper yup, 6 years after this to be exact, but if you pay atention in the solos you can hear the intro from washington is next!, dave had already that beat and he uses in this long extended version of she wolf, and after that beat becomes the main riff from washington is next!

  • Degrasso reminds me of Snape somehow ...

  • scroll up bitch, you're missing the video

  • i wish there was a studio version of this exact solos and everything, its so amazing!!

  • Easily one of the best live performances of all time. Such musicianship, such talent, such fucking brilliance.

  • Damn that guitar sound is HEAVY \m/

  • Anyone get a chill up the spine after the drum solo when the original she-wolf solo started??? :O

  • @radicle23 I usually get chills whenever I hear the first part of the guitars harmonizing.

  • @radicle23 Every time.

  • @radicle23 I've been hearing this version of she wolf for years, and i still get goosebumps at that exact same part every time i hear it!

  • all you fags disputing over Megadeth and Metallica need to grow the fuck up! I used to like Metallica over Megadeth any day. But then I opened my eyes and MEGADETH RULES!!! Dave wrote Metallicas first 3 albums. and that's a fact!! So quit bitching who is better!!! Because in my Book MEGADETH and METALLICA are Equal!!!

    UP MEGADETHS

    UP DAVE MUSTAINE

    UP HEADBANGERS \,,/ \,,/

  • this is awesome, how the fuck can u seriously not like this!?

  • man u can barely hear the crowd but theyre singin too!! and with the solos and shit, this my favorite live song from megadeth. sure peace sells and holy wars are great but this was once in a life time performance!

  • @baranataman1 Make that 3, Chris Poland

  • 4:55 to 5:50 best part, i had to change my pants, after going to the hospital...

  • oh this is THE STUFF !!!

  • okay lars, your move

  • This is the best live perfomance of a song ever

  • ya the world had 2 awesome bands, now we have the great megadeth, and the has-been sellouts metallica, with james's blown voice box, kirk saying he doesnt wanna do solos, and no more good heavy music like in there first 10 years

  • For those who insist on the Megadeth v Metallica issue (let it fucking rest for gods sake), the best thing Metallica did was kicking out Dave Mustaine. Instead of one awesome band, the world now has 2 and if you cant see past your Megadeth albums or your Metallica albums to realise this then you need to take your blinkers off

  • fuckin' awesome version with extended solos!!!

  • 7:26 I cum my pants.

  • Ahh I loved this when I first got the double-cd (7 years ago) and I still got eargasms every time I listen to this. Bass, drum, guitar and vocals are just perfect in this version. I do like other versions of this song also, but in my opinion this has the best guitar solos, best drum solo and impressive bass solos of all the records of this masterpiece. \,,/

  • this is why dave mustaine is god

created such a great song and implanted such a great extended solo

    all hail MEGADETH

  • I love De Grasso"s drumming and fill-in on this one. he's much bolder than Drover and I wish he rejoined Megadeth cause he's much more powerful than Drover. Drover's very good and tight and all but he sounds weak.

  • @Fabcfab Drover sounds less outright heavy and more progressive. I like it, he's an innovator. All of Megadeth's drummers were. Especially Gar. But it's the Rush influence on Shawn Drover... There's never been anyone who sounds as deliberately progressive as Shawn Drover in Megadeth. He reminds me of Gavin Harrison in that aspect. It's a beautiful thing he's brought to Megadeth, I think. Not the most technical, but the most undeniably original. Innovator.

  • @xTheWorldNeedsAHerox u bring up good points. why not menza? i always thought he was great technically AND somehow convinced dave to switch up the drum patterns in a lot of their songs (train of consequences, trust, sweating bullets) i like what ive seen from drover on endgame but id say hes closer to behler

  • @twojemytoes

bullshit, they searched for shakira shit.

  • esto fue, en su tiempo y ahora una patada en los cojones a Metallica ;) hehe AGUANTE MEGADETH!!!!!!!!

  • 25 felt the bite of the shewolf
