I hate seeing this stuff. Man I hope your doing well now with a full recovery. Someone asked me awhile ago what it's like to ride a Wing and do it safely and I told them that when I'm on the Wing out on the open road I just assume every else is out to kill me so I really keep my eyes open. Ride safe folks!
Had this happen to me but I was a lot luckier. Bike was smaller but principle was the same. Nearly took my leg off. Driver about the same age too. Still never understood how he could be so young and yet his eyes didn't work!
Anyway, glad you've made a great recovery and the incident hasn't put you off biking. By the way, this 'Wing you're putting together - leave enough room so you can install a minigun!
How the hell do you miss a 900lb Gold Wing with wide running lights/blinkers on the mirrors and two head lights? Oh, probably texting or dialing the phone.
I was off work for a few months. Pretty well healed up now. Chiropractor just has to get my neck back in line (my spine is actuaully moved 1.5 inches to the left !!!) I'm almost done putting another wing together, and I should be riding down to Daytona on the bike the first week of March (hope the roads are clear !!!)
Glad you survived that dude .. I'm a GL1800 rider myself .. you always have to be on the lookout for "cagers!"

Is there anything bigger than a goldwing?

Hey...thought about you yesterday! A friend and myself rode down to the beach out here in California.
He was riding his black Goldwing. He won't ride anything else.
Gotta tell ya, it looks like I'm saying goodbye to the Harley. Sick of the expense of the 5,000 mile $300.00 check up.
Yep, I'm getting a goldwing for the summertime. I'll me Harleyforever no more.
How the heck are you feeling?
Keep in touch.
