  • head

  • why so loud dick

  • "Fylon Cider"

That is one of my favorites.

  • @ #:52 Aww c'mon!You can see the string!

  • LMAO!

    Jman

  • This series came out when i was only 13 years old. I lived on a farm and didn't have tv. ( my mother's choice) as a result, I spent a lot of time inside my own imagination. Now, years later, my kids have almost all grown, I still spend hours in my own little world. I watched the original Battlestar Galactica on Netflix and I fell head over heels in love with Apollo. Who can resist such a strong, caring, gentle and wise man? Oh, and handsome. Thankyou Richard, for being Apollo. I love you. :)

  • couldnt have used the clean version cud u?

  • @Evan7893

Clean as in better quality, or as in no cuss words?

As for quality, this is as good as it gets. Its a 6th generation bootleg at least, and was 20 years old even when I bought it. As for cuss words, the bleeps were added by ME, as in the original cut you hear the profanity loud and clear. Dont want to remove that flavor.

  • @SpeakerForBoskone Why did you bleep it? Bastard.

  • thanks for sharing this, too funny

  • 2.57

    'Fylon Cider'

    Lmfao!

  • I remember seeing this for sale at sci-fi conventions in the 90s. They SAME guy from NY was selling them at all the shows and wanted 20 bucks for a 30 generation dub on a VHS that is so far gone the tracking adjustment is useless. Looks like you bought one lol. Seriously, why didn't they include these on the DVDS? I suppose the same reason Lucas will not include the Holiday Special on the upcoming Blu-rays.

  • @southport97

This looks about 5-6th generation. My tracking still works ;) Most of the degradation is due to that this was likely 20 years old before it was even transferred to video.

Lucas considers the Holiday Special to be an embarrassment, and he's right. I wouldnt equate these two works.

  • I went to the BSG panel at MegaCon this past weekend, and Anne Lockhart said that at 6:50 they had given Dirk and Richard wedgies, LOL. Brilliant.

Thank you for uploading this! It's hilarious.

  • EXCELLENT piece of Nostalgia! THANKS for the post! I can imagine this being played before the cast while they awaited news about a next season... I wish I could have been there. I don't know how you obtained this but it's a piece of gold.

  • i enjoy the new BSG a lot more

    much better

  • @keithblabbermouth

You should have seen the video I uploaded it from. ;)

This was never meant to be seen by the public, it was a private movie that then sat on a shelf for 20 years. We're lucky to have any version of it to watch, let alone a poor quality one.

  • @SpeakerForBoskone

    Thanks for posting this!

  • @SpeakerForBoskone I enjoyed it. I think kids today are so spoiled by good quality that they can't watch or understand the value of lost pieces like this.

  • 2:31 is how I look when I wake up to the one night stand I took home from the bar....UGH!

  • Starbuck "Lousy Faggot" LOL

  • Buy land from Baltar? Here is my credit card. :)

  • Thanks for uploading!

  • Oh! FRAK!!!!!!!!

  • there was an old battlestar galactica?...huh

  • @rpm2004 Ooooooh yes. This is the REAL Battlestar.

It begun with this one. Much later came the other.

But this one is much better and the Starbuck is MUCH better :D.

    Dirkie is great !!

    Thnx for uploading this ^^

  • @rpm2004 yep in the 1970's and 80'S

  • Damn, I remeber the scenes with the hands crushing and messing up the letters on the Universal Pictures Globe! What movie is that from? Something to do with Mel brooks perhaps? Maybe the Last Remake of Beau Geste? Help me out!

  • Commander another phylon cighter approaching.

  • Its weird that the buzz cut doesn't exist in this military, or universe in general.

  • Hilarious.

  • I have a copy of this on DVD which is hilarious, it's worth a thousand laughs! I love it!

  • Borays, funny, in the fist episode someone said they were sent from the rising star to the " Borays " of society, hmmm.

  • ey this is messy

  • Thanks for the upload that was enjoyable.

  • wow talk about old...

  • Was that Loren Green singing at the end?

  • Indeed it was Loren Green. Good stuff. ;)

  • @SpeakerForBoskone Lorne Green ffs...not Loren... get the name right =P

  • Hey at least I knew what his singing voice sounded like. ;)

(And I did use all the right letters, just int he wrong order)

  • and it's Greene. haha.

  • At least in this version the colonists use blaster style weapons that probably focus a charged particle beam. In the new version, they use shell-encased ballistic slug throwing weapons! If the enemy is a mechanical framework then bullets would certainly not be very effective, so WTF?

  • answer :cause the producers have no much money for buy beams....

  • Wouldn´t be very effective? Why? WTF?

  • Did you see Arnold Schwatzenpeger in the "Terminator" movies? Effectively the endo-frame was impervious to lead and copper jacket ballistic slugs. This is very likely to be the effect that bullets would have on a hardened enemy like the mechanical "Cylons" depicted in the beginning of the B.G. serial. Much later, in "Galactica 1980" the producers replaced the metallic opponents with more humanoid ones. this does not retrogress to the initial mecha format to justify the use of slug throwing guns!

  • Maybe the Bullets were Armor Piercing. In the new show Bullets were Very Affective on the Cylons.

  • anybody knows the old main cast list?.

    i'd love to know. thnxs

  • Loren green as Adama

    Richard Hatch as Apollo

    dirk Benedict as Starbuck

  • Thnxs!!!

  • Your reaction is most illogical, halfvulcan. Evidently you are thinking with your human half.

  • the classic was and still is BETTER than that Frackin' newer one IMO. I wish this one was out on blu-ray.

  • is dirk benedict singing at the end?

  • great! a pity there was only one season....

  • Tom Zarack was the old Apollo?!

  • "Old apollo?"

    Yeap.

    Fun isnt it? ;)

  • YESSSS, UAU. WHERE IS DO YOU LIVE?

  • Canada, lol why?

  • i completely love this video. especially the song at the end. 'I'm might get hyper in my viper'. lol!

  • So was the word 'frak' used in the old series too?

  • Yes, every bit of slag and every proper name you heard was originally invented for the old series:

    Frak, Felgercarb, viper, baseship, etc.

  • 2:46, doesn't that look like Tom Zarek?

  • The guy who played Tom Zarek played Captain Apollo in the original.

  • Are you serious!?

  • Deadly serious. You didnt know? Us classic fans were tickled that the original Captain Apollo got have have so big a role, even many shared scenes with the new Apollo.

  • I wonder who else from the original series is in the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica?

  • No one else. They wouldnt have been able to keep it a secret if they had, and we would have recognized them immediately.

Richard Hatch was chosen as he was the singular driving force to get Battlestar back on the air. He even made his own mini-film.

  • I lulz when the Borellian Nomen swore! XD XD XD

  • Usually these gag reels don't see the light of day, somebody must have burgularized somebodys home for this tape.

  • what a classic, where did you find this???

  • "what a classic, where did you find this??? "

This is a bootleg I bought at a sci fi convention that had bloopers of TNG, Highlander, Xfiles, and a few others.

  • I wish they'd show the bit from the pilot where the lights in a building on Caprica spelled out " F**K OFF " It's a gag that a SFX designer put in.

I liked the original Galactica, but too many story lines could be summed up in 1 45 - minute episode, just like with Star Trek: TOS. RDM's Galactica wasn't so neat & cut - & - dried.

  • Now that RDM's is over, I'm finding myself thinking "so what?" I didnt like the ending, didnt like the general storythread, and was subconsciously wishing the entire time for a real meat and potatoes Battlestar story.

Having the episodic format instead of the serialized had its advantages, mainly that the writers couldnt get away with weeks of filler while building up to the ONE fight scene of the season in the season ender.

  • Whatever floats your Battlestar & / or Viper. I found elements to like in the original Galactica & in the re - make of BSG, the re - make was about the characters, not about space fights & strange gadgets & guys in chromium suits.

I DID like the old Baltar who was a genuine stone - cold Mother- frakker of a villain. Gaius Baltar was merely a

( suave ) nerd who let his glands lead him into giving away Colonial defense secrets & betraying the Colonies for a piece of hot Cylon tail.

  • "strange gadgets"

    ?

You're thinking Trek. BG was never about the gadgets.

And "space fights" can be a reason all to itself. I LIKED the space fights. What I DONT like is being smothered in "character" because the writer thinks he's being clever. RDM BG had way too much as far as Im concerned. It took away time better spent on story, which is the whole reason the characters were there.

  • SpeakerForBoskone:

I'm not really knocking EITHER series, the original BSG was big on action, space disasters, fights, etc.

& of course the re - imagined version had character development & story arcs. The " new " BSG had continuity, & situations that couldn't be confined to a single episode, & comparisons to 9 / 11 here.

But the original DID use a lot of ideas taken from Star Wars, maybe Trek, perhaps Lost in Space. NOT dissing it, just making an observation.

  • Well if it were the new Starbuck and Apollo, the romance would be believable

  • Love B.S.G. and Dirk Benedict...great job

  • Shame they didn't include this in the DVD boxed set!

  • LOL! I love this reel.

  • No one can cackle like John Colicos! A-HA! HA! HA! HA! HAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!

  • The bat-winged Cylon Raider craft are based on the 1945 Junkers EF-130 "flying wing" experimental bombers.

  • Maren Jensen was the girl most likely to have nothing after Classic BSG on IMDB

  • Too bad Universal didn't include this and "The Second Coming" trailer as extras on the classic BSG DVD set.

  • There wasnt so much 70's after the haircuts. The pilot had a trio of disco divas but they were never seen again. The show has actually aged rather well. Compare it to other 70s shows such as SPACE 1999, which used disco music for its opening credits. :/ Even this show didnt do that.

  • What bloody disco's did you go to?!!!

  • "I have some land in Florida I'd like to show you. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" The guy's laugh cracks me up!

  • lol i love this!

  • "This whole show's about a joke. Thank the lords of Cobalt it's over."

    BLASPHEMY

"I might get hyper, in my viper" LOL

  • Actually it's "Kobol"...Cobalt is a mineral.

  • I stand corrected. I mistyped Cobalt. I thought it was Cobol. I'd never seen it written. Either way, I was wrong.

Besides, a show that uses microns (an Earth distance measurement (1/10 of a millimeter)) as a measurement of time (on the Galactica ~1 second) and names characters after Greek Gods, etc. why would you think it's strange they named it Cobol (or Cobalt for that matter).

    P.S.

Cobalt (Co) isn't a mineral. It's an element.

  • Cobalt is both a mineral AND an element...just like Iron is both a (metallic) mineral and an element.

I was using "mineral" as a synonym for "something you mine out of the ground, or which composes a component of various ores"

  • Very cool... I love the outtakes... David

  • but the idea of "work" usually doesn't include watching blooper reels online.

  • Everyone likes to rag on the original BSG as "cheesy," "poorly-executed," among other things. What they never say is HOW the original BSG fits those descriptors they throw at it with very little thought involved? I'm a fan of the original BSG and I've never seen anything cheesy or "wrong" about it.

  • The first one had more umph in my opinion. The fight scenes were more white knuckle, and I miss that.

  • Amen!! The new one is too emo...too much of a soap opera.

  • @EliteRanger I thought the new BSG was cheesy & poorly executed.

  • Great!

  • This was a, well campy, yet great series :P

The new one is my favorite however, cylons look freaking scary then.

  • The new BSG isn't even BSG. They completely changed the premise...the Cylons are NOT human technology gone bad, they are the artifacts of a long-dead alien civilization.

  • Man, I gotta find the pilot episode, I haven't seen it yet :P

  • I liked that concept much better, the boss cylons were a copy of their original masters (A kind of lizard like humanoid)...

  • So?

In what way was that concept intrinsic to the original series?

  • It's only the entire POINT of the original series...it would be like rewriting, say, Harry Potter...but making the wizards all elves with humans as pets.

  • This was a, well campy, yet great series :P

The new one is my favorite however, cylons look freaking scary then.

  • "...and if you believe that, I have some land in Florida I'd like to sell you!"

It's great to see these folks had a sense of humor.

  • This show was so cool it was basicly a floating disco in space! I only watched for the chicks they were hot!

  • I agree. But if she is in her late forties now, that means she shot BG when she was a teenager. Sorry. Shes gotta be more like mid fifties or even (yikes) 60's. You had to be alive in this era to appreciate what it was. It was a different time and a different capability of television. At a budget of a million bucks a show, it was the most expensive show to make. Hell, now thats a salary for one of the FRIENDS cast.

  • she's 51 born sept 23 1957 Arcadia California, I agree wow!

  • Merren Jensen is the most beautiful woman that has ever lived on planet Earth! Gods! She must be in her late forties by now. I wonder if she still looks good?

  • Very funny clips. When I was a teenager I was a fan of the original BATTLESTAR GALACTICA but even back then I was mature enough to realize that it was a wonderful idea that was horribly executed. Despite its gross flaws this show struck a cord with me and a lot of other people that eventually led to the sublime remake we have today.

  • Because the orginal was such a masterpiece, huh moron?

  • eMO? Dont forget emo is a new word.. it didnt even existed 20 years ago

  • that was funny, thanks for posting!

  • The Cylon Vocoder/Voice are the EMS Vocoder 2000W MkI (white, biege), and the Marshall 5002 Time-Modulator!!!

  • You dont see a lot of dyslixic lines in Hollywood these days

    "fylon ciders?"

  • Apparently the "narrator" didn't like the show, since he made a comment stating that it was good it was over. Jerk.

  • He was being ironic.

  • Thanx for the correction.

  • That was a lot of fun!

The thing I find funniest about this show is the fact that they blew their budget on effects pretty early on so were forced to use sets from Westerns and Medieval films.

It really gives the show something, I think lol

And I agree with the assertion that the two Battlestar series are separate and should be enjoyed as such.

But watch the original series and one of the most amazing things about the new series is that it parallels the original story almost identically.

    Genius.

  • I was waiting for the crips an bloods.

  • Awesome! Thanks so much for posting this!

  • LOL! Very funny editing and I had never watched those bloopers, so thanks! :)) Yes, I like the old Galactica! ;) I like the new one too.

  • This is priceless.

  • dont get it. they kept making mistakes all the time. what channel is this comedy show on?

  • i find pros and cons in both the new and old series and i thoroughly enjoy both of them :D they are really hard to compare since they are completely different shows

  • ditto

  • I like the old series. I can't stand to watch the new one, it makes me sad.

  • The new series grows on you. As much as we loved the old one, this is NOT a contest between the two. Watch one and like it, watch the other and like it. We arent supposed to have to choose.

  • now back to the galactacrap...lol

  • mushies yum yum yum.

  • this was better than the show

  • No, you suck!

  • NO YOU SUCK !!1!!11 LOLOL OMG!!!1!!

    ...

    moron.

  • If he's the moron Olaf, why are you the one making an ass of yourself? ;) No one is making you watch. Feel free to stay away.

  • Not a fan of the show I take it. To us classic buffs, this is white gold.

  • LMAO!

  • that was funny, thanks for posting!

  • Fylon Cighters... lol

  • BRAVO!!! Love those wrap party reels. Especially from the shows from the 70's. Those days the outtakes ended up in the garbage, now I think everything is kept to put on the DVDs.

  • Oh the irony of such comments

  • Why bother us with this shit? a third grade av team could do better.

  • Well why did you bother to watch in the first place if you werent a BG fan? And even if you are, how much quality do you expect out of 30 year old analog? Check the attitude at the door buddy, you'll find its not welcome here.

  • WOOHOO!!! Let's hear it for the REAL Battlestar Galactica and her bloopers! WOOO!!!

  • lol
