I just wanted to mention how much I love your video. I can be quick to lose my confidence about my riding skill and I had some issues while riding today that shot my confidence a little, but watching all these horse and rider videos has made me realize that despite the faults and mistakes I may have with riding, giving up will get me nowhere.

I was once told that a trainer can ride the clients horse five days a week in a program, show and almost always be beaten by the weekend warrior rider. This is because the weekend warrior spends so much more "time" out of saddle with the horse and their bond is much stronger. Personally after riding for 22 yrs if you dont have that connection, when the chips are down and you need the horse to step up, pick up the riders slack they will almost always Cash out. Riding is a Partnership.

@Caliekat15 I totally agree with you that riding is a partnership that take huge amounts of trust, respect and love. But as a trainer, i'd have to disagree with you about the weekend warrior. I spend 5 days a week riding and caring for client's horses. When they are nervous, scared or sick they want the person who makes hot bran mashes in the winter, the one who wraps sore legs, the one who stays up all night with them when they're ill; not "mommy" who they only see once a week.

Well it is Phenomonal.What you said about horses that buck and rear Its not always something wrong in the connection.

We have a horse who was mistreated in his old home so he bucks and has reared, but the connection is stunningly strong and he has never done it unless he is genuinly scared because of his connection with my mum he always tries his best to please her, but nobody can completely banish fear of the past even if they can erase it with them and their horses connection.

this video is beautiful, i think the first clip really portrays something not many people show or believe, the horse in draw reins but the riders bond. people assume that whoever uses draw reins and tack aid are ''bad riders'' and don't love there horse, that clip shows how wrong they are !!

this is an absolutely fantastic video. you've done a most wonderful job on this nad in relation to your description, I was working with disabled young people and horses and the way that they interact is simply incredible. Horses do such an awful lot for us, and everyone who works with them should treat them with respect, though, as I live near Newmarket, i sadly know full well that this is not always the case.
