  • Question for people talking about, I'm this religion and that religion but I love Loreena's music. What has her music got to do with religion?

  • Seeds of love and snow get's me everytime

  • @ gawain259 It's "The holly and the ivy." It's a very, very old English Christmas carol that is still sung today during the Christmas season.

  • there is no religion on earth that inhibits listening some other cultures or religions music or hymn....so stop with that muslim/catholic/atheist thingies..she is not compoisng her lovely music for some religion, she is a genius tht composes heavenly songs

  • this is a nice way to promote an album. :) really presented nicely.

  • wow!!! what for a ♥beautiful voice♥

  • lets all just agree to dissagree? she has amazing voice and her songs are beautiful why cant we just appreciate what shes giving us without letting our silly little fights take the focus off the music shes bringing to our lives?

  • I loveeee this women,she is wonderfoollllll...

  • What was the tune at the star please man?

  • beatiful album

  • @Wolverinegirl83: Why not? thats what all the cool kids are doing. How's about you and I go bake cookies, and by cookies I mean babys....and by bake...I mean bake. D= Itll be fantastic female bonding.

  • i was lucky enough to attend a concert of hers in Thessaloniki,Greece.on,no ,'lucky' is a small word...I was stunned,I was excited by her music before this,i am completely mystrified afterwards. And these songs, came to intensify my devotion to her musical intelligence...My xmas soundtrack without any doupt :)

  • Toujours un bonheur d'écouter Loreena Mckennitt !....

  • wats the first soing called? the one that is backing the titles at the very beginning with the violin in it

  • I'm an atheist and I love Loreena's music. I think it trascends religions and hate

  • I agree completely!

  • I agree. I like her singing, even though I find Catholicism really abhorrent.

  • it is "Breton Carol" from "A Midwinter Night's Dream"

  • whats that song at the very beginning? during the presenting etc..

  • hmmm... I just noticed it isn't repeated in the vid with its name.... oh well.

It is called Breton Carol :)

  • ahh thank you so much!

  • lindaaaaaaaa

  • I've listened to her Noel Nouvelet song, and i LOVE IT!!!! Is this song a Christian hymn?. Anyway, i love the Noel Nouvelet song she sang and the arragement was great. I'm not a Christian. I'd love to purchase her songs but, I don't know where, coz i'm a Malaysian. Moreover, I'm a Muslim....

  • :D That is my favourite song on the album *so far* :) I believe it is a Christian Hymn because it means "Sing We Now of Christmas" I can remember the lyrics right now. Most of the songs on this album are Christian, I think, because most songs involved with Winter/Christmas are predomanately christian.

Can you purchase via post? If you go to her website you can order there and I think that it will work. I'm so glad to have met you! I don't know any muslim people. I'm a Pagan Witch and that...

  • I've looked around here website, but i'm quite chickened-out whether to purchase it or not. I'm afraid if my muslim friends ask questioned me about the CD...I'm glad to meet you. Here in Malaysia, I've never met a Pagan Witch....

  • I'm sorry about your friends... Hmmm... Have you heard Loreena's album "The Mask and Mirror"? She is inspired by Islam in that quite a bit! I think you should buy and if your friends find out just explain beautiful music is beautiful music! It doesn't change what you believe. I personally love listening to "Choir Music" and especially chants by catholic priests. And Islamic ones as well! They are so peaceful and spiritual!

  • Tats a good idea, but to these kind of people, its hard to find a perfect answer...

I noe that listening to song doesn't change our perspective in life, but it could change wat people thought of you...

I love those chants as well, but i don't really understand wat they're saying, so, heheh...:P

  • i'm not really sure what kind of muslim friends you have, that would object to listening to loreena's music. i'm muslim, and i love loreena and her music. i don't think God is going to strike me down for that...it's not like i am out listening to a song about killing babies and eating them in some stew..........

  • their just too narrow minded...thats why...

  • LOL!

  • Right on! I'm Muslim too, and I think that this is beautiful and has nothing to do with religion, as het up as ppl seem to get about her music.

  • @benzackry

Since I don't live in Malaysia, I don't know where you can physically buy a copy of her music, but you can always try Amazon or the like. (Do they deliver to Malaysia?)

However you get the music, it's awesome that you listen to it. I love how Loreena McKennitt can bring people from different cultures, religious backrounds, etc. together through her beautiful music and angelic voice. Keep on listening Benzachry. Enjoy the wonderful sounds of Loreena McKennitt. =-)

  • @celticwolf98 i'm really sorry. Hard to say. I've never buy things from Amazon. haha..

  • Well done!

Loreena McKennitt ist wunderbar! Ich liebe diese Musik. Gerade zu dieser Jahreszeit! Perfekt! Super Album !!!! Wenn auch alte Lieder (das kennt man ja). Aber es ist wie es ist und es ist gut so! :-)

  • But she re-recorded also the old songs!Or did she?? That's amazing! :D I met her in Brescia (italy) she's great

  • :D I'm glad you also love her! She didn't re-record the old ones, but they were remastered so they sound even better! :)

    Blessings!

  • wow everyone! :D I'm glad this has so many views! hopefully that's 1013 people who will purchase this enchanting album!

  • Ordered it when it was made available for preorder on Amazon. Dispatched today, arriving tomorrow (after crossing the entire length of Europe from west to east and from north to south). I just can't wait!!!! :)))

  • Listened to it this morning on the train. Loved it. Her rendition of God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen and Nouvlet Noel are my favorites. Saw her twice in 2007 (Boston and Montreal) and loved it both times. The lady has talent beyond measure.

  • Absolutely agree. But i cant call myself fair, because i adore her music.... In adition to those songs you mention, i also adore The Holy and the Ivy, Conventry Carol and the beautiful Snow.... I also recommend her documentary, A Moveable Musical Feast. Her perfomances of The Gates of Istanbul, The Highway Man and Never-Ending Road (Amrán Duit) are a must....

  • do you have the OST from "tinkerbell"?

I read Loreena mckennitt will sing the theme song from the movie (and also the voice of one of the fairies)

  • You are correct! She will sing in the movie! However she will not voice any faeries. She is the Narrator! :D That's very good I think!

    Blessings

  • This'll be the most pagan christmas ever!

  • Aye good sir, pagan it shall be, and christian alike, in such a wonderful combination that only Lady Loreena knows how to bring about. Awesome compilation video *****

  • Although, technically christmas was a pagan celebration before it was a christian one, so I suppose every Christmas has echoes of times gone past!

  • Lol, that explains that strange lyric off of that classic christmas song... "we'll talk of ghost stories, and christmas' beyond!" (ya, i don't fully remember how it goes) You know the one, right?

  • Actually, I don't know that one... =/

But I know that the '12 days of Christmas' song comes from the 12 days of Yule =)

  • The Lady of Shalott, Thank You, my sweet, for

sharing with me. You know I love her!

    LOVE, Penny

  • Thanks for this, LadyofShalott! Beautiful, like all her music :D

  • You are welcome! :D I do as well!

    -CelticMusings

  • superb. thanks Lady for sharing this gem

  • You're welcome! I wanted to sort of make a promotional video for the wonderful Loreena's new album!-CelticMusings

  • Thanks for posting mate!

  • :D You're welcome!!! *hugs*

  • Greetings Dear Friend!!!

Very nicely done!!! The only downside is that this is just a tease. Even though the video is over 6 minutes long, I long to hear each one in it entirety (did I spell that right? My brain is not working correctly). I am not blaming you sweet heart, that is all we have to listen to until the cd is released. It's great to be able to hear all the samples at once.

My favorite? Oh, I can't decide, that are all so wonderful and delight my head and my heart. Love, G

  • O totally fell in love in this song I must have that CD!

  • Me too!!! :D I hope to get it when it comes out! What's your favourite? Mine is probably Noel Nouvelet... But they are all awesome! I need to calm down lol

  • my are: Un Flambeau,

Jeannette, Isabelle, Emmanuel but your Noel Nouvelet it's good too =)
