The context in which the book was showed in the film, wasn´t, howewer sexual - it was ideological - Robbie proves himself to be " selfish individual " who does not care at all about the girl and HIS baby. The thing that always made me feel vexed about this otherwise very enjoyable film is that it is supposed to be set in the 60s, but the hair and the clothes look so blatantly 80s than there's no way I can believe the 60s part of the script. They have failed to capture the feel and look of the time completely.

"Hungry Eyes" is definitely no 60''s hit, and no one wore muscle tops or leggings/legwarmers in the 60's either. But other than that, I really do love this film, and Patrick Swayze especially...such a beautiful man.

Well the book is basically about a young architect who designs modern architecture, even though he lives in a society where tradition is king . But the big theme of the novel is about being 'selfish,' remaining true to your own ideals above the ideals of other people, which I think is a way to justify his bad behavior.
