Dedo Risto has also made Macedonian-style gajdas in key of G - i'll send you a private video. Lately his favourite key for Macedonian gajdas is B, the old traditional pitch, which is higher than the A/Bflat which was introduced for ensembles with other instruments :) I love his gajdas in the key of B...
Awesome hearing the Macedonian style of piping on a kaba gaida. goes really nice, I always wondered if any gajdas came in the key of G. Most sound like they are in A or Bb. On a more recent recording, Stefce Stojkoski played a gajda that was in Ab. really blended well especially since it also had a treble drone as well.
@Treppengeist96 Risto Todoroski lives in Sydney and makes different kinds of gajdi. You can email him at sirulsko@gmail.com if you are interested in gajdi, kavals (wooden flutes) or tapans (goatskin drums). Thanks!
Bulgarian kaba gaida by Risto Todoroski sirulsko@gmail.com in Sydney, Australia.
Dedo Risto is actually from Ohrid, Macedonia and his style of playing is from there, not Rodopsko. His specialty is the Macedonian or Prilepska gajda, and he also makes Thracian gajdas and high pitch gajdas.
