the stay puft we see here is made from the leftover ghost residue from Citizen Ghost that made fake copies of our heroes and tried to kill them.

Then over time, the team were able to turn him good by actually communicating with the thing.

@sustelsuk A possible explanation is that this isn't actually the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man that was Gozer--it could be the one created in the earlier episode where the Sandman curses the city and makes all of their dreams literally come true. One guy was dreaming about the Marshmallow Man, so he created a copy.

Even though in GB, the "movie-verse" if you will, Stay Puft was a vessel for Gozer the Destructor to inhabit; granted when they crossed the streams, through the dimensional portal, the positive energy created by the streams closed the gate, sending Gozer back and destroying Stay Puft; However in the GB "toon-iverse", the GBs captured Stay Puft when Gozer was sent back through the dimensional portal - It was also that they could make Stay Puft toys as well :)

That's just my point of view!

In Citizen Ghost, they flashback to the Ghostbusters returning to the Firehouse

after defeating Gozer. Not only did they

have marshmallow on them, they were

contaminated by PKE energy. Maybe

the energy fused with the Marshmallow

man remains and became the Marshmallow Man we see here. Just like

the energy created those ghostly copies of the Ghostbusters. Just a theory.

I love this cartoon, but this is the one thing that always bugged me In the movie the Ghostbusters didn't capture Stay Puff, they blasted him into smores filling.

Well, they crossed the streams and sent the two of them back, the marshmallow body was destroyed but the ghost or whatever went with Gozer. At least I think that's what happened.

Well, in Sticky Business he does fight with a giant stingray-like monster, that came out of the containment unit with him, when the GBs released him to do a commercial for them for charity but it wasn't as big as Murray.

I liked Anne Lawson a lot, since Dana Barrett was never in the cartoon, I see her as the closest thing to Dana. So I thought she was a good match for Peter.
