I have loved the Beatles for as long as I can remember, and to hear, see Nirvana, Kurt incorporated with this song, his favorite song, brings a tear to my eye everytime I see it! Nirvana also one of my favorite all time bands ever. WELL DONE!!!!
@shadow6543 I'm sorry but your generation never had a John Lennon. You can't compare Kurt to John. Yes, Kurt wrote some great songs and was a tortured soul, but he never wrote anything approaching The Beatles. And if he was alive, he'd agree with me.
there will never ever be any other another band like nirvana..."kurt was one of those people who the heavens bless us with every once ina while" - unknown source
This song was played at Kurt's funeral. It's my fav from Rubber Soul and in my opinion it's one of the most beautiful songs which written by John Lennon.
Amazing... i've made several videos myself and posted them on here a long time ago but they got banned and i cant put them on again. And as popular as they were, this beats them all, this is great dude, keep it up.
well done it's emotional great choice cause kurtloved the beatles and he got the inspiration to write the song "about a girl" by taking one day just of listening to the beatles and wrote about a girl for his at the time girlfriend tracy marander. im not trying to boast with my knowledge of nirvana but its a pretty coool fact if you didnt already know it
Sometimes I think about stuff like "why dont grown ups wanna talk about Nirvana" , and "how could everyone forget about Nirvana" I mean damn Dave Grohl who was the drummer dont even like talking about it. WHY!??
It's not that we don't want to talk about, I think it's just one of those "What could have been" kind of moments. We all loved their music, but the thought of such a gifted young artist and how his life was taken, just brings back bad memories.
We'll never know what Nirvana would have been doing nowadays, but it's safe to say that they could have been one of the greatest bands ever in the history of music.
dave dnt talk bout it cos he explained in an interview that "I lost a good friend and I want to remain respectful to him, remembering teh good tims i had with him in private"
Hiphop is no different from rock except the sound. It expresses problems commonly faced by those in urban areas, and not only that, but some songs have lyrics so real that they could just as easily be converted to a rock form.
Now rap, (Soulja boy, Lil Wayne, etc) is SHIT.
but yeah dude I love rock. Lynard Skynard, Slipknot, The beatles, Offspring, but you cant just go dissin hiphop.
Well the rap part is something we can agree on, but I'm telling ya, Hip Hop is just a bit... well, easy. The main thing is that there aren't that many instruments in HipHop. Therefore, any nut with a computer, a voice and to much spare time can make 'music'.
I agree about MAKING it. It IS easier, Usually. But some Emcees use REAL insturments. And some sample rock/funk songs, which actually is pretty hard. I guess it really depends on what your good at. If your good at rock, its gonna be easy. And if your good at writing longer songs, and making computerized stuff, then its gonna be easy.
Any band from the famed Seattle scene is worth checking out. My personal favs are Mudhoney, Melvins, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and so many more unknowns. Try to look for subpop cd's from the late 80s and early 90s for the best sounds of that era.
yes man. this is from beatles museum in liverpool:
According to his Aunt mari : he was singing song since he was two . he would sing songs like HEy JUde.
Cobain also express a particular fondness for Jhon Lennon whom he called his "idol" in his journals and even admitted tha his song "About a girl " was essentially his attempt at writing a beatles song. he wrote this song after listening to the beatles on repeat for hours.
I am so happy to be 40 and back when i was 22 Nirvana and all of the other Seattle movement bands were just making it big. I saw them in November 1993 in Miami and it remains to this day the best show i have ever saw.
i'm as jealous as jealous can be. it sucks being a teenager in today's shitastic musical era. i mean it's not impossible to find great music today but it sure takes a lot of effort.
Don't worry, I was in my thirties when I heard Nirvana and it was a revelation. I had not liked music since about 1980, just a few decent bands and then those dewd big hair bands-Gah. tt sucks being a teenager in general so just listen to Nirvana and some old punk bands, whatever you can find that doesn't make you hurl. I don't expect to ever like another band more than Nirvana in my lifetime- just glad they were here at all.
DO you get Kurt? Let down so many fans? He lived for himself & unfortunately that led to his death. He couldn't see anything but pain. Was tormented by the commercialization of his music & by lunatic fans who raped people while playing his music
Kurt didn't owe you anything. All you can say is how his fucking death let you down? For fuck's sake, no wonder he hated many of his moronic fans. See haricougar's remark, and please try to not be such an ass.
