It's not that we don't want to talk about, I think it's just one of those "What could have been" kind of moments. We all loved their music, but the thought of such a gifted young artist and how his life was taken, just brings back bad memories.

We'll never know what Nirvana would have been doing nowadays, but it's safe to say that they could have been one of the greatest bands ever in the history of music.

Well the rap part is something we can agree on, but I'm telling ya, Hip Hop is just a bit... well, easy. The main thing is that there aren't that many instruments in HipHop. Therefore, any nut with a computer, a voice and to much spare time can make 'music'.

I agree about MAKING it. It IS easier, Usually. But some Emcees use REAL insturments. And some sample rock/funk songs, which actually is pretty hard. I guess it really depends on what your good at. If your good at rock, its gonna be easy. And if your good at writing longer songs, and making computerized stuff, then its gonna be easy.

It just depends how you look at it all I guess.

Any band from the famed Seattle scene is worth checking out. My personal favs are Mudhoney, Melvins, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and so many more unknowns. Try to look for subpop cd's from the late 80s and early 90s for the best sounds of that era.

Cobain also express a particular fondness for Jhon Lennon whom he called his "idol" in his journals and even admitted tha his song "About a girl " was essentially his attempt at writing a beatles song. he wrote this song after listening to the beatles on repeat for hours.

Don't worry, I was in my thirties when I heard Nirvana and it was a revelation. I had not liked music since about 1980, just a few decent bands and then those dewd big hair bands-Gah. tt sucks being a teenager in general so just listen to Nirvana and some old punk bands, whatever you can find that doesn't make you hurl. I don't expect to ever like another band more than Nirvana in my lifetime- just glad they were here at all.
