I bought one from the Philippines made by him.. I'm shocked it was a professional drummer who made this kind of drumsticks... Mine is a 7A with a nylon bead...
Drum Set: American Classic 5A, 5B Rock, Metal (CM), SD1 Bolero, Jazz Brushes
Concert/ Orchestral: T1, T2, T3, T4
Marching: Ralph Hardimon Signature Snare and Tenor Sticks
Vic Firth makes the best sticks ever. I am proud to say that whenever I pull out a stick or mallet out of my stick bag, I know I count on it to get the job done. I am with Vic ALL THE WAY!!!!
all the times I've met & talked with Vic he is always one of the nicest and down to earth guys. Been playing Vic Firth since he was burning his signature into the timp mallets with magnifying glasses.
vic firth makes the best nylon tip sticks. they dont shatter like any other nylon tips. i had a pair and it lasted me for 5 months, thats how amazing these sticks are. i want to meet vic firth though and his factory that would be an amazing experience
My brother used to work near Vic Firth and says that he loves all music. He remembers him listening to Crazy Train and saying "That's beautiful drumming! Subtle beauty! It's great! Nothing like that Ulrich fuck on most of his songs. We get it! You like your double bass!" My brother says he's so varied in his personality but always generous. Also, ONLY FIVE MONTHS? Easy on the rim hits, there.
I studied timpani with Vic Firth from 1966 to 1970 and witnessed his stick business in its infancy. Vic had a commitment to excellence in everything he did from playing timpani to his business. I saw him last summer and he has always remained the consummate gentleman. I can't think of anyone whom I admire more!
Great feature on a great man & great company! Representing the foodservice industry, we love the portion on the wonderful line of peppermills from Vic Firth Gourmet 3:56
Absolutely the BEST drum sticks...I don't know what it is about them, the balance or the wood or what, but they just feel so much better than other drum sticks do...I even tried Zildjian and they don't compare...
Vic Firth 55a are the best. Trust me
