Thanks for the comments. I rarely use onion skinning in my animations, often only in situations where very fine movement is required. I didn't use onion skinning in this one.
I guess that was an ambiguous way of describing it. I meant very smooth or accurate animations that require very small, precise increments to complete effectively. When working at the scale of lego minifigs, this can mean very small increments indeed!

ok , I'm guessing you're using anasazi?? thats the only program I know of that uses onion skinning.
