This chokes me up a little every time I hear it. <:,) Carreras is apparently moved by the spirit of the Lord; just watch his facial expressions and listen to the emotion in his voice. His voice sometimes moves me a little more than those of other singers I heard. What an inspirational performance.
I think my mother nearly cried when she heard this. :) This is beautiful. God bless this great singer. And thank God he is still alive after suffering from cancer. :')
Maybe the clapping is to praise God or the spiritual feeling they get from the song. after all he is singing to express in a way that god gave him. Think outside of the box please. We are not in a 15th century catholic church
if they clapped for saint Mahalia, and she did not mind, they might as well clap for this. God doesn't mind people clapping for the talent that He gave the performer(s).
