Incidentally, I've since gotten both a way better time and a way better score legitimately on this. Switching back to red is not at all necessary (an empty block is enough to bump the red block up enough).
Actually, this level's not too nasty in my opinion. Once I figured it out, it's not to shabby. Not to mention that the level's short.
Now, stage 5-7, that's my pick for the nastiest level of the first half of the game. I had to save once during that stage to prevent me to fall down and start the stage all over again.
Those were some MAD reflexes at the beginning.D_D
Would it be sad that I actually got stuck on 5-2?

I just played through 5-7 again, and I see what you mean, but to me, quicksaving is less of a big deal than facing a speed/timing challenge.
