  • Best teacher ever...i´m learning more watching this videos than going to class (and i`m from Argentina, so i don´t speak the same lenguage!) You realy can tell the diference between MIT and the rest...

  • lol, in mit they teach like "students are learning it for first time.". I mean this is all basic. even our high school teachers dont teach this way and this is at UG level. ...

  • the best schools have the best teachers. how fair is life. i can't understand shit that my chem teachers says.

  • @edscottable Luckily we are in the internet and information age, and you can watch the lectures of Ivy League professors for free online. I believe that information and education should be as freely available as possible in a civilized society. I really appreciate how many Ivy League schools are making lectures available for free online. I really can't say enough how thankful I am for this.

  • wow i would have him as teacher who agree:)

  • Carl Sagan reference :D

  • he makes learning handsome.

  • lol im only 16, but this is really interesting! but a bit to advanced for tomorrow's GCSE :p

  • I was considering applying to MIT as an international applicant, until I realised just how much it would cost.

  • @limetang Out of curiosity, what is the cost? I wanted to go to UC @ Berkeley, but couldn't afford it

  • @vk92007 When I checked tuition for internationals was about $30-40k a year, which compared to tuition fees of just over £3000 in the UK (which get covered by loans anyway) I figured it would be too much hard work to get the funding for the US.

  • @limetang

how about applying for financlal aid?

  • basics!

  • thank you MIT!!

  • im studying this at high school 0.o WTF?

  • @TheThePunkgirly doubt it

  • hahaha "this isnt med school" wonderful

  • VERY NICE

  • lol "this isnt med school" 02.10

    scary prof

  • he is just pointing out the basic knowledge in organic chemistry.I think it`s not in UNI level, isnt it?It`s really easy.Btw,he is always walking in a high speed,so tired for the students.

  • lol this is the closest i will get to an prestigious university

  • The speaker says, "Do you think, I am going to let you use the 'aid sheet' to copy from the aid sheet to the test. No I am not.

This isn't pattern recognition. This isn't Med School."

    My reply, "What about EE?"

I remember 1 time in EE the teacher said, "No formula sheet."

Luckily I played it safe and made a formula sheet.

Ironically EVERYONE in the class made a formula sheet.

Ironically the teacher was tired and everyone used the formula sheet.

In EE we laid down the law.

  • this guy is a kickass teacher with a unique sense of humor... it seems like it scaped his students, but to me he was great :)

  • Boss lecture that la

  • MIT people seem to be good at teaching

  • The Numbering System is Greek, not Latin !!!

  • seriusly?? woudn't have guessed it...

  • no one dared to correct him in the middle of the lecture haha

  • So much easier than U Toronto. No wonder MIT ppl are so smart, they're taught like a baby which ensures they know everything!. MIT is great.

  • the student body is comprised of 75% THC

  • thc??

  • tetrahydrocannibinol

  • The active ingredieant in marijuana

  • lol how is this solid state chemistry?! I suppose organic molecules could be solid at low temperatures.....

  • am I the only one who didn't understand any of this?

  • much more in depth than my professor explained it and it is very clearly presented.

  • chemistry suckx

  • man i wish i had studied harder and been accepted to MIT my ochem teacher is not nearly as engaging or informative as this guy. Good Job please post more.!

  • dont worry man, maybe if you work hard you can get into MIT grad school..

  • Although roughly 10:50 into the video, when he was talking about the Latin prefixes, he forgot "octa-" for eight. He went from hepta to non.

  • Very clear at explaining the material. Interesting to listen to.

  • nice ,..but is it is what they teach in colleg we study it in school in lower high school in 10th standard...

  • is there a video of the chemical reactions of ethers and so on, like the types of rxns they can undergo?

  • wiked teacher

  • @dangflo Yes I agree, very wicked

  • noob

  • stanford chemical engineering lectures have more bounce

  • thanks for this series. the captions are out of sync.

  • he's a genius I'v seen almost the complete course until this video and i'm going to see them all (except the things I really don't like, like diffusion and those things) but most of the lectures are so informative and well taught.

I really love this series just like the 8.01;8.02;8.03;5.111 and 5.112 courses

  • Holly cow, what a great teacher!
