Bernadette Peters on Regis and Kathie Lee August 1996

Well, it didn't last. Michael Wittenberg died on a helicopter crash in Montenegro during a business trip in 2005 almost 10 months before their 10th anniversary. They didn't have children and Peters hasn't remarried since. Today at her 63 years of age is very unlikely that she ever will.

Yeah. . .9 years later he died. I mean - she went over 50 years wthout REALLY falling in love - and shortly after she does, he dies. Must've been heartbreaking. . .poor Bernadette! :(

I know - apparantly it was a plane crash, I'm not sure if it was heading to his destination or back home from it, but he was on a business trip. Of course now I'm finding a lot of pictures of them together and it just makes me sad - they looked so GREAT together!

You must be very young. This show was called Live with Regis and Kathie Lee long before and for a lot longer than Live with Regis and Kelly. Kelly Ripa became co-host of the show in I believe 2001 or 2002. This video is from 1996. Kathie Lee Gifford was the co-host for I think around 15 years before Kelly came on board.

Kelly started in 2001 ... I'm not sure what date ... I think it was late summer. Kathie Lee was on the show since it started in 1980something when it was only on ABC owned television stations. There are only around ten in the US. In 1989 it became syndicated and was put out across the nation landing in our tv sets (if you didn't live in NYC or the other 9 cities) and Live was not born but rather reborn ...
