  • @cecewinansfan that's definitely not true...read your word ...

  • I miss these days. We don't do this anymore, bring us back Lord

  • Soooo....did they get it?

  • I am in a church that still believes in Tarrying, which is right! Repeating the sinner's prayer will NOT save you.

  • @Cecewinansfan - That's not true. The bible says whoever confesses with their mouth and believes in their heart is saved. However we have to tarry for the holy ghost.

  • I believe if the church of today would learn to "give up" and spend more time on our knees, seeking the FACE of God, we'd be more effective. This video brings back fond memories of yesteryear.

  • Hey glorry Please somebody give me directions rrom Jacksonville This is what I need right here don't see this nomore but this is the old way and thats the kind of Holy Ghost I want not the one that can only fit certain needs but the one that can and will supply all of my needs

  • Im only 17 years old and this is the type of church i have been raised in. so many people are in too much of a hurry but when you take time, and tarry, and call on the name of Jesus you will recieve the holyghost !!

  • WOW! I so remember this experience. It was priceless!

  • i love this

  • Amen...this is how I received the Holy Ghost calling on the name of JESUS!!!

  • Its so hard for the church to get on one accord because NOBODY wants to spend time on ur knees. A church that speaks in tongues is a church thats having revival EVERY week!!! I'm lovin'this!! Rev.Sean Spearman P.S. Every COGIC doesnt have service like this!! yall know what i mean!

  • Oh my! my ! My! Bless the Lord today!!!! This is an example of what is missing from some of our churches today...

  • @anthsmith2006 I agree. That is my prayer that we go back to seeking God instead of our next blessing - because God is the blessing. To have Him is to truly be blessed. Ministry is another name for career and personal ambition. We have to die to self.

  • The Holy Spirit is ready when you're sincerely ready. And you must be saved to be filled. To tarry means to wait. They did it on the day of pentacost because the Holy spirit hadn't arrived yet. Now days it does little if anything for most people. It's just a "church folk" thing. Not scriptural at all. You can be filled in you living room. At home, by yourself.

  • Me too. Where is the terrying today? Lord help the church.!!! I want to see so much more of this. It's better when you work it out for yourself instead of someone telling you got it.

  • i love this!

  • i love it like this, and this is what it is going to take Calling on the name of Jesus greetings from Hightower Memorial in Douglas, Ga, the home of Eld. Raymond Carswell. Call him Saints!

  • Aint nothing like a good ole fashion Tarry service. Like I say and will continue to say, TARRYING STILL WORKS. That's the way I got it!!

  • lol, i grew up on this stuff... Hahahaaaa. Wow. Alrighty... get it in chirren

  • There are those who don't believe there is a bible basis for tarry services. The Bible says the 120 waited for the Holy Ghost. It does NOT say what they did while they waited. I know this, our churches today are too worldly and don't fear God or praise and worship like we used to.

  • It really shouldn't matter how u recieve the Holyghost just RECIEVE IT! Tarrying isn't where it stops cause if you dont recieve down there u should continue at home to seek the Baptism of the Holyghost.

  • holinesstruth tripod com

  • But you do find in the scripture where it says Seek the LORD while he may be found, Call Ye Upon Him While he is near, Let the UnRighteous forsake his ways....See if you can find that one....We need to Seek the Will of GOD and not stuff...Most of the churches are carnal today, thats why that Anointing is not in full effect....Sin and GOD cannot, and will no abide in the same place.....

  • Actually rvvr the only commandment to tarry was given by Christ to the apostles in Luke 24:49. Acts 1:14 says they were praying. I agree 100 percent "tarrying" is a practice that the traditional Apostolic church cooked up and is not supported by the Word. I too was first saved down at the altar all those long nites. But thank Jesus that i have come into the fullness of his knowledge.

  • Tarrying is a form of prayer, viz. waiting or praying for the gift of the Holy Spirit. . In early days of this season of Pentecost, tarrying was done quietly. Standard practice at Azusa was quiet prayer in literal upper rooms; those tarrying were former Methodists, Quakers, etc.. The loudness of modern-day tarry services, where some call on Jesus or shout praises, likely reflects Pentecostalism in general. Loud or quiet, the end result is still the unusual behavior recorded in Acts 2!

  • RV VR, I believe many of them refer to Acts...when the 120 were in the upper room for about 50 days (tarrying) waiting; and the scriptures speaks of that they were all filled with the Spirit and began to speak in other tongues????

  • were they in the upper room? I can't find that

  • Nowhere in the bible does it speak of 'Tarring for the Holy Ghost'. Where does this doctrine/practice come from, for you cannot find it in the scriptures?

Are we not to do as the bible commmands?

1 John 4 [1] Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

1 Thes.5 [21] Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

2 Tim.4 ... make full proof of thy ministry.

  • @rvvr It's apart of our (Church of God in Christ) doctrine, according to Acts 2:4.

  • I Love My Church Butts Miracle Temple COGIC!! Glory!

  • PRAISE GOD!!!

  • YES LORD!!

  • Take us back to place the place where we first believe.

  • yes lord feels just like my church

  • Yes this Is the Way Cause the Bible Says For whosoever Shall Call Upon the name of the Lord Shall Be Saved. His Name Is Jesus!!!! I got Filled the Same Way Calling On Jesus I Didn't Know Cogic Tarry Like this I come From the P.A.W

  • Me too, That's the way I received the holy ghost too!

  • I'm 21 years old I come from Under Bishop Charles Edward Poole and Evangelist Mattie Belle Poole. I remember hearing stories of how People would come in with a repented heart get convicted go down in jesus name and within 15 mins recieve the holyghost While they were tarrying. Many would get the holy ghost when they were standing in the line to be baptized In JESUS name Not too much of that going on now adays Now people are more title hurngry than God thirsty Get back to the OLd LANDMARK HELP US

  • @anthsmith2006 Yes. It is true. The power of God rested upon Bishop & Mother Poole. HUUUUUUP!!!!

  • @anthsmith2006 Not tryin to sound rude w/this response but there are too many youtube videos that prove all over the World churches are still carrying on in this manner (seeking God, not just a good time in service). There are even children getting filled in today living the life 4 Christ. In reading many of the comments bout this vid, seems most came through or brought up like this. If any 1 desire this type of presence w/God, pray & let God help you find a church that does. Amen

  • No not Just CoGIC style BEcause us APOSTOLICS STILL DO IT YESSS. NOW THIS IS HOW I GOT THE HOLY GHOST IN A TARRYING SERVICE. Keep up the old way where are my church mothers coaching the sinners into salvation non the less they are seeking God right.

  • I agree this is the same way I received the holy ghost. It is good to see people still seeking to do it the right way.

  • COGIC STYLE!!!!!!!!!!!
