  • right when it gets to the part i need....curses... -__-

  • "I'm just gonna roll into a guy's privates here..." (hehehehehe!)

  • You have to make a living somehow. You shouldn't blame folks for trying to make a living off of their craft.

  • I make videos teaching shit for free and there are plenty of people on Youtube who do the same for drawing. This seems like a solid tutorial but you might as well put up complete videos as samples instead of cutting it off mid-video; no one can learn from this and it feels like a lame cash crab.

  • this guy is actually not too skilled nor talented....he's just depending on technique he learned at school...maybe. But he's too eager to SELL not SHARE.

  • @vamprix2 he is pretty tallented. he has a nice clean style and has a good mental grasp of the 3d form unlike a lot of people. all art is executed through techniques we have learnt, either from experimenting or being taught. you cant criticize for "depending" on them.

  • YOU ARE FUCKING AMAZING!

  • @garysquirrelreviews you have a pretty ugly body

  • @garysquirrelreviews you only see the raw line..now us who understand art see the finished product before it has gotten the finished polish and it is outstanding. this is not supposed to go by your taste in women but to show you the basic idea of the form and the construction to the body that you simply cannot grasp.

  • When the hell did we bring economy on this video? It's about how to draw the male torso NOT money. Take your arguments to the inbox and leave the comments about the drawing to the video.

  • great talent. Thanks for posting.

  • great artist

  • You are amazing..

  • Knowledge should be free. Economy is based on greed; that's why communism doesn't work.

  • Is that guy a Family Guy ?

  • I <3 your pencil

  • I watched alot of yor videos and have always wondered what type of pencils do you use?

  • Can't we just appreciate these great skills of proportion and contour and not argue!

  • 'Roll into a guy's privates' :'D

But yeah, nice proportions! They help alot.

  • Come on... you have to know that not everything in life is free... if you do not want to pay for the DVD, then go to school and let the government pay the classes!

Also... he mostly gave you all the information that you need to know about the torso... geesh!

And a little comment about your drawing, I just love how organic your lines are... just love them!!!

  • "drawing" not "dwarn"

  • I'm sure someones alrdy asked this question, but i cnt be bothered to scroll and look for the answer coz ur comments feed is fckd. :/

What you using to draw? Charcoal pencil???? :)

  • jzluver99=racist

  • i love his style it goes smooth

  • its joke that you so much slow draw it?

  • HE DREW A FAT CHIK

  • @MokoruBano Uhh I don't know what you're talking about... if he added shadows, the body is quite slim. Are you even artistic? Or just looking for a naked body?

  • White women have ugly bodies :(

  • @JZLuver99 ..huh?????

  • @JZLuver99 sad and untrue

  • @JZLuver99 I have to disagree with you. The good thing is that they dont have BO

  • @SuperARandall Yeah, they do and they're ugly too.

  • @JZLuver99 So who isnt ugly

  • @SuperARandall People with nice pigments, nice hair, nice noses, nice bodies, Etc. Not Whites, I think you guys are melanin deficient, pale, no lip having, shapeless human beings. You guys have limp hair and transparent skin. I think you guys are the Albino version of what true human beings look like. Lol

  • @SuperARandall

Jesus - what the hell are you going on about sperm and sucking cocks for on a drawing tuition video? What an exhibitionist.

  • @2Touchstone Look, im sorry for the level of conversation, but i never started it. i tried to raise a debate on the issue of life sketching. I have been in dispute with a few people on this and they are making this horrid comments. All i was doing was sticking up for myself. I shouldnt have exposed my sexual experiences but i lost my temper. Im sorry if i have offended you and would welcome any positive feedback from you. We can be become friends. Look forward to your reply :)

  • @JZLuver99 Thats cuz you like your women to to swing thru the trees with their tails! lololol oh and don't forget the horrendous smell!!!!

  • @reesetook Lol And Yours eat shit, fuck animals, and birth incest children. That's why your bodies come out looking that way, because most of the time your mom was also your aunt. Lmao! Us horrendous smell?? I wouldn't touch you with a 10 ft. pole if I were being paid by the second. Your people do the nastiest things. Shouldn't you be at home making a video for the BME Olympics or frying your sperm into a pancake and sharing it with your mom/aunt??

  • uugh. i hate it how you have to pay just to leaarn some things about drawing on the intrrnet. i mean i would pay but i only need to know a little bit of things

  • thanks for the knowledge dude...

  • he looks like the outline of a dick hahahaha did any one else notice

  • Sorry but I don't get it, where should we draw the penis ?

  • @pierrickz wherever your boyfriends is... not that complicated

  • what's kind of pencil is it ? cause it's really soft and hard in the same time. please tell me ^^

    Thanks,

    L.

  • Thats a charcoal pencil. Their really sharp like that when their brand new. The brand on that one is General's charcoal. Most people I know prefer the soft.

  • The femal torso looks so....old and short. oO

  • Willhudski,

What's wrong with someone referring to their web-site? He's giving good information here on YT for free. I get something out of them & I'm grateful. Don't you think he deserves to make a living? There are 5 thumbs down on your note right now, so there are a few folks out there who strongly disagree with your comment. Furthermore the YT people don't have a problem with him or the countless others who do the same. What's your beef? No angst here, I'm just wondering.

  • Well here he's pretty much getting free publicity. He hasn't paid for youtube to host his video, so why should he make money off of the advertisement revenue that Youtube creates? Moreso, I could probably create the same tutorial and not charge you for anything at all.

    And that's my beef.

  • Willhudski,

Thanks for the reply. If you, or anyone else posts a video on YT that's helpful to other folks and you don't expect any kind of remuneration for it, that's great! Many people do exactly that & I'm grateful to them for it. However, making videos takes equipment, skill & time & if your doing demos of some skill you have, it's not unreasonable to plug your revenue making web-site.

I think the biggest strike against your position is that YouTube encourages what Matt is doing.

  • Knowledge deserves to be shared and not sold for profit.

I draw. It's a hobby. I don't charge you to look at my pictures, I don't charge anyone. I draw peoples' characters for free, I'm happy to share my talent.

People like this really irritate me. :|

  • Hi, Willhudski,

That's a very utopian view you have. I personally think it's good to eat & have a roof over my head. If I put years in to learn a craft, I think it's reasonable to ask for a bit of compensation to pass that on. Art's your hobby, but you make your living at something, people pay for the product or service you're involved w/. Why is that different? Information is a commodity, a product, & teaching is a service. Getting it for free is great, but I don't take it for granted.

  • so because your art is a hobby for you it should be for everybody else too??he doesnt charge for people to look at his pictures, he charges for the time and effort he put into making it easy to understand for hobbists like you.

yeah it'd be nice if knowledge was free but its never been. you're still happy to pay for your books, astronomical fees in ateliers or universities yet people who asks something return for their efforts irritate you..this so much cheaper than any uni u shd be grateful.

  • I don't read illegible responses. Sorry.

  • yeah its probably too articulated for your level of education. sorry about that..next time ill write a dumb reply like this one so you can understand it more easily.

  • I don't really think you have the grounds to question my education considering you can't spell at an adult level.

  • "Knowledge deserves to be shared and not sold for profit."

With this phrase you´ve just killed the world economy. Just watching matthew39arch draw you can see that the guy is incredibly skilled. Knowledge and skills have always been the basis of any economy.

Firms offering expertise, consultancy, services, professional guidance, etc.. etc..

Whatever they call it, it's knowledge. Maybe they should all be free too.

I'd love to see law firms giving away their knowledge for free.

  • I'm skilled as well, and I don't charge people for critique and 1:1 tutelage.

  • your comment kinda confuses me (sorry?)

I mean, don't school teachers get paid cuz teaching requires skill/time/work? And i sometimes i pay about $10-20 for a couple of hours of art lessons from professional retired people ~ I think i kinda know what you mean. Like; I guess some people see drawing as a hobby, and some as... a business?

  • @Martolov Knowledge deserves to be shared and not sold for profit...

not in this world my friend, that was before money was invented...

  • @Martolov you also have no videos my friend, matthew is giving out some information for free, is he not...

  • @Martolov ergo economy is bad

  • @Martolov He said "deserves", not should.

  • @Martolov

I cheered for Trent Reznor when he encouraged his fans at a concert to illegally download his music rather than support his record company with money. More of us should be willing to bite the hand that feeds like that (har har). If information was free, it would travel much faster throughout the world, end up in more people's heads, and will ultimately benefit more people with such skills and information.

  • @Martolov People don't give away fre knowledge (especially a law firm) because people pay good money to go to schools to learn this knowledge. That's more jobs for the economy therefore helping the wolrd go round.

  • @Martolov To hell with the world economy because that's where it's all going anyway. Anyway love mathew39archs channel.

  • So you theoretically could do the same thing? That's the basis of your argument? We could all make videos, but the fact is most of us don't, but those who take time out of their own day to do so and help others in the process deserve the reward. If you want to go earn money doing the same thing then go right ahead, but don't sit here and complain to someone else for taking advantage of it.

  • Thanks!

  • Do you think that studying Bridgman Anatomy book is good?

  • thanks

  • thanks for half a video...

  • *lol* u stupid man XD

  • excellent

  • wow you're really pro, dude, it's so neat that i actually needed this sort of tutorial recently XD

  • really good video, was that charcoal you were using?

  • I need to learn that peanut shape thing, what kind of books would you recommend to learn the anatomy?

  • in another video he told us about "the complete guide to drawing the human figure" by brigman..i`m sure about the author and that the title starts with "the complete guide"..i guess u enjoy watching him so you can watch all his videos and find the one where he presented the book :)

  • Okay thanks ^^

  • thanks for your generalization on all the different shapes of the male form :)

  • looks coool and thank you really helped
