  • 4:07 we see the colorful sloughs and salterns at the southern end of SF Bay. I think these colors are indicative of salinity in the salterns - caused by algae of varying colors. The redder, the saltier. In the saltiest ones, the water is allowed to dry and the sea salt harvested.

  • 3:40, that looks like Shiprock, in New Mexico - seen from the ground, it appears like a distant ship in the mirages of the hot expanses all around it - standing completely alone.
