  • All "at sea" shots show the Research Vessel "Beaufort" which had been chartered as test platform in the Baltic and later North Sea. The aim is not to increase a vessel's speed but to reach the same speed with less power output on the main engine resulting in lower fuel consumption.

Whenever the Kite was finally airborne the engines were usually reduced to idle in order to test different flying patterns. But for details you would have to ask one of the test engineers.

  • i think this dont increase speed very much)))and ships crew have more problems due to this "innovation"

  • Very nice!!

  • I am surprised that no green group or person has commented on this video? I think it’s going back to the future. In a goodway. Keep it up!!!!! The kite I mean:)
