this is my teenage anthem, I was like 13 when this song came out, just hearing the opening chords takes me back. The 90's where awesome, and all I could think was how I couldnt wait for the future, lol, well the future sucks infinitely more than I could have imagined. The 90's god if I could go back, there was still an energy of change, rebellion and Im rambling like the burnout I am... Kids, stay off drugs.
Ok i understand growing up in a certain generation makes you particular to the music it created, and i have to say i grew up in the late 80's/early 90's. Do kids that were born in the 2000's really like all this pop shit thats coming out? (bieber and all that other shit). Because if you do like it, than i am no better than my father and mother, they saw smashing pumpkins and nirvana as a no talent shit band and i thought they were gods.
@airmanfair , what you wrote is great, I always wonder the same thing. its all in the eye of the beholder. These songs were my best times, careless, working 12hrs a week and had nothing but time. This era was my time, I miss it.
I graduated High School in 1979.....think they're definitely trying to recreate the feel of that era in this video, and they did a very good job getting the whole "vibe" of those times!
Hey these are great times were living in Bros. Were jolly green giants, walking the world, with GUNS! These people we wasted here today are the finest people in the world. When we rotate back to the real world were not gonna have any body worth killing! The 90s were great, but this is our time now lets make the bets of it. Wishful thinking wont bring us back. The closest we can get to the 90s is by remaking it, and listening to its music. Im gonna fuck the shit out of the 90s.
I was born in '79. Went from Ireland to San Francisco for 2 months one summer mid nineties. First album I bought. Still amazing to this day. So was San Fran!!!
I was born in '79. Went from Ireland to San Francisco for 2 months one summer mid nineties. First album I bought. Still amazing to this day. So was San Fran!!!
I detest this video showing teenagers breaking the law and wreaking havoc, ladies and gentlemen, these juvenille delinquents are the failures of tomorrow; they'll either be in prison, dead, or working a job that pays very little and on welfare, or not even having a job. Someday, they'll regret it!
@thehoosierfortheUK hey, dont dis the vid, this song is a recollection and an overview of peoples youth, and it is supposed to be beutiful. and who made you superior enough to judge us all of the sudden?
The song and video is about life in an era when we had freedom to enjoy being alive and carefree times, Life after 9/11 has changed for the worse. The 70's & 80's were the best!
There couldn't be a better song for an 18 year old to enjoy his last summer before college. This song just shows how teens just don't give a fuck sometimes. Haha In a good way, of course. I'm sure you've had those memories that can relate to this song
Hey guys! If you could please check out my band's cover of this song (: It's instrumental, and we sped it up on accident by starting too fast in the beginning. But all would be appreciated :P
This song was cool because it was for kids born in 1979 who were teens in the 90's. I lived this video a hundred times over. Now it's all about impressions and who has accomplished the most and who is skinniest at the reunion. Back then it was friendships and the park and the gas station and hot tubs and kissing.
I was born in '83 so i was able to experience the 90's as a kid and a teen. As kids we were very impressionable to good music. I mean the music in every genre was just amazing. What a time to live through!!
It was a beautiful time of fond memories, laid-back atitudes, GOOD TUNES, good tv shows. Nothing beat growing up in the 90's... as biased as that sounds. :)
@Beier99 i did and fukin thank god i did...janes addiction, nirvana, smashing pumpkins, sonic youth...they just dont make em like that any more....start prayin a band comes along thats is even half as great hey
To all the kids complaining about how they hate school dances and stuff because of the awful music. Do something about it. Sitting on youtube and complaining about it isn't gonna help anything. Do what my friends and I do. At every school dance we go to we always request a few good songs and they usually will play at least one. The last dance we had they played Give it Away and everyone had a fun time. You CAN have as much fun as 90s kids did, but you have to try at least.
i wanted this song so bad that since i couldn't afford the album, i spent half a day listening to the radio to record it onto a blank cassette. now i got it on my ipod! if i only had one back in 1995.
You just nailed it right on the head. You know your from the '90s when you have a mixtape with the end of the radio DJ's voice over the beginning of every song and a cut off song at the end of each side of the tape.
@MrSomename89 i think it was better, cassette were something personal and that you had to work on it, people was really loving the music they listened to. nowadays they just tell you "check this band" and you download the whole discography, the magic was lost together with cassette...
Just a good song. In MY opinion most music is garbage these days and by that I mean mostly the new "pop" Artists. There is probably a million comments like this but i just wanted to state that this is a good song :) and i wish there was more music like this these days on the radio and t.v :( This song just makes me feel good. haha.
This song takes me back to the days when I was a kid growing up in the 90s, hanging out with friends on school afternoons and sitting in my backyard with my family every summer night looking at the stars. Life seemed so much happier then.

MTV's never played music. It never was a radio station; it was a way to bring commercials to a captive audience. It always sucked, sucks now, and will suck tomorrow. Youtube is what we alway wanted and finally got.
pitch in 20 quid each, buy a banger , fill it full of cheap fuel, and rally it , see the country side , live life, bend the rules, be young........ the good aul days.
aah, this song is just aching.. Sad but happy. Makes you long for times past
