  • We're playing Cyrus The Great this year at Atascocita! I love being a Bass Clarinet and playing Low Brass parts >:D

  • ANYONE ELSE<MR.WARD

  • Alan, do you have a performance of this drill with flags that you can upload? Maybe UIL or something?

  • @Silvercrystal77 I'll have to look next time I go visit my parents.

  • I remember someone left the flags back at the school....

  • I'll never forget the two WWII bombers that happened to fly over just as we were playing the Air Force song when we performed this at UIL. That was awesome.

  • your lines suck

  • What state are yall guys from? My band used to march military, but it was the high knee style. We switched to corps after the judges at the UIL contest gave us a division II after a pretty much perfect performance.

  • I like how at the beginning it's shown there's no fans in the stands, but at the end you hear a roar of cheering?

  • @AllStater09 - That's because the video is shot from the second tier of the stadium. The crowd is on the first one.

  • Yea, the upper level kind of covers the lower. My HS always went there

  • @AllStater09 this video was shot from Northwestern State U in Louisiana and it was a practice stop for the band on the way to competition. No one at firt but the crowd came from students in the dorms and folks around campus. Nice performance and at the end the crowd was around the fence and not in the crowd. Put that in you pipe and smoke it!

  • @tigerband84 If I had been a student in the dorms there, that would've DEFINITELY caught my attention and I would've probably been one of the first ones outside that fence!

  • @tigerband84 Good job, by the way!

  • Now that's marching... use of the entire field...WOW!

  • its a bit symbol heavy at times

  • Woot! Go my school!

  • I was in this, sorta. This is only sophomores-Seniors. Freshman band was separate this year, i was part of the voluntary load crew for this ha!

And we didn't forget the flags, they were left out on purpose for something to do with rules of nammb.

  • That is incorrect. There was no rule preventing the flags from being in the performance. They were accidentally left back in the band hall.

  • This is a high school!?

  • yep... Thats how its done in Texas

  • my sister was on the marching band Lisa Cole you might have known her

  • @llama1264 Yes i did know lisa cole... Good friends with her.. Still Miss her

  • Cyrus the Great is patriotic? lol wow.

  • although they did forget the american flags. oops. haha

  • why were there so many holes that year?

  • NAMMB was held on the same day as the homecoming game and dance... and the flu was going around

  • it was the whole band. Freshman to senior. Long trip at the end of the season. Some people couldn't make the trip due to grades. The drill was very complicated and ward didn't want one alternate screw up to cost the competition. It was harder then. You had to work to be on the field.

  • Were r u guys from, you guys are awesome....:)

  • Houston Texas

  • Thanks

  • Just out of curiosity, is this your first year when you stopped marching freshmen?

  • freshman were made into there own band in 2000

  • Freshman band wasn't formed till 2001-2002 school year.

  • I love the Drill. Haven't seen a military style band do a field show till now and im WAYY imPRessED with Kingwood. LOVE the Flutes and Piccolos. YAY!!

  • lol i think it was only one piccolo! lol she was a bad ass

  • Hey Alan.

Thanks for posting these marching videos! I like nostalgia.

And you might remember me, although we never chatted (I'm Collin Simpkins).

    toodles

  • hey was that veronica? yes, she was a bad ass!
