I remember the ending of this video. I think there were 170 people following the training and only 60 succeed. And before you can follow the training you also need to do a test for 2 day's. I don't know how many people did that test.

DopestMC that's ridiculous. Do you know how much the French forces bled in WWI? In the Napoleonic era? 38% mortality rate in that conflict does not sound like they were afraid to get stuck in to me.

It's not about the schools. It's not about the training. It's not about the uniforms, or the weapons, or the gadgets, or the boots. None of that matters.
The main thing I try to say is. They don't bitch at eachother who is better. Their all equal in their eyes. They've ALL passed the training and all have respect to eachother. If it is the English, the Dutch or the Americans. We're all colleagues. And share the same goal.
A old Marine wich in our barracks told that they had exchanged Marines with the US to compare training. And according to the Marines who came back. The USMC is more heavy then the Netherlands. Although it's shorter. But what does it matter really? And ofcourse every military knows how to work with a compas. That's bullcrap that the USMC don't know that.
Since also American and English people watch this I'll do this in English. Alright, why is there always such bitching about whom's better or not? over 90% don't even belong to the Marine Corps. Not from the US nor the Netherlands. So you're basing this on speculations and rumours? Or just what you've read somewhere? It doesn't matter what training the USMC has.

usmc marines dont know how to work with a compass or other standart things a real marine most know...they only train their body but the rmc and rnlmc are really good trained in their skills so thats a big difference + ofxgaming is right...we fight with 30 man...they with 60 with the same result
the RNLMC ( dutch marines ) work very closely with the RMC ( british marines ) and the USMC, but esspecialy the british: this alliance of the RMC and the RNLMC is used as a model for NATO how units should work together ! :)

In the second world war, in the beginning just 100 Dutch Marines ( only half trained and not having the barret jet) hold of tousands of german paratroopers for the 4 days defending rotterdam ^^
40 half trained marines held the bridge of Rotterdam against hundreds of Germans. They were called black devils by the germans, who just couldn't get rid of them. Also, the Dutch capitulated because Hitler said that, if they didn't do so, they would Bomb the large cities of the Netherlands, starting with Utrecht (they had already bombed Rotterdam). The government didn't want much citizen casualties, so they capitulated. But the Dutch didn't have tanks etc, nowadays they're much stronger ;-)
yeah but in those3 days we put a good fight up against the germans with our ww1 equipment and u know that dutch airforce shot down over 500 german planes? the german luftwaffe could never recover from that blow also reason whythey lost battle of britain
@WestPlatteCrossCount In the middle of rotterdam lays the Maas with several bridges connecting both parts of the city. These bridges are like bottlenecks and relatively easy to defend. However, the german paratroopers ( of whom i know that they are elite ) supprised the Dutch forces in the city. It was considerd to be a quite front and only navy sailors, half trained marines and some fully experienced marines were in the city. to be continued.
@WestPlatteCrossCount Some brigdes were defended by only platoons facing a battalion of Paratroops ( not thousands ). The marines reacted by crossing the river in the night and attack the flanks of the germans ( i dont know anymore the size of the forces involved in this counter attack but i believe 1 company of marines) resulting in heavy hand to hand fighting ( navtive east indian troops like the gurkas also serverd with the marines ) and some succes. to be continued.
@WestPlatteCrossCount In the end the Marines succeeded in there objectives and tacticly won at rotterdam ( so did dutch forces at Ypenburg but that is another story ). After there surrender they recieved millitary respect from the paratroopers for there magnificant suffering AND unjustified bombing of there beloved city ( wich still is nomore along with parts of other dutch cities such as middelburg ). Well, what a great advert. It really sums up why I am rejoining, not the RNLMC but my own countries forces, albeit reserves for the moment - the things this video shows, camaraderie, challenge, pride, are universal to all troops.
It is shared hardships that bind friendships; or, in this case, comradeship.
Here's to troops doing their thing wherever they may be. And here's to the Dutch, a great people and a great ally.
They USMC isn't effective, they use about 1.5 times more soldiers then the Dutch/English troops to reach the same goal. The make their advantage with advanced weaponry, instead of the Dutch/English troops who make their advance with tactics and skill.
Nothing against the USMC though, they also did many good things (!!!)
I don't think you should say that the USMC "isn't effective". The Royal Marines are commandos, idk about the Dutch Marines, whereas in America, Marines are the elite, not regular, but not special forces, it's different than in the RM. dutch english marines are more commando based infantry that what is effective about the marines there heavily trained troops and normally they come in big numbers..bu usmc is more liek infantry i dont think there aswel trained as brits or dutch
the dutch marines work closely together with the brittish royal marines and the brittish sas works very close together witht he dutch KCT (Korps Commando Troops) (dutch special forces)

je kan idd als burger de opleiding commando doen, er zijn bij de opleiding 2 groepen , mensen die al in het leger hebben gezeten , en de burgers. die in het leger hebben gezeten kennen de basis al. de burgers moeten die daar dan doen. dan ga je verder in de opleiding. je fysiek goed zijn maar ook vooral geestelijk. en of de commando's nou beter is dan de mariniers zou ik niet zeggen , ze zijn allebei keihard, en niemand is slecht in dienst , ze doen waar ze goed in zijn.
kct is niet beter want als jij een commando bent ben je geen marinier en er lopen veel mariniers rond die de commando opleiding hebben gevolgd en dus marinier en commando zijn dus ben je beter als marinier want dan kan je altijd nog voor die extra optie kiezen dus lul niet uit je nek
Ze zijn beide kick ass alleen korps mariniers is elite en daarom moet je lichaam close to perfect zijn wil je erin komen bij de commandos zijn de eisen iets minder streng

Ik heb 6 jaar mogen dienen bij het Korps van 1989 tot 1995. Ik heb super veel gedaan, super veel beleefd en super veel geleerd.
Schotland, Engeland, Wales, Noorwegen, Cambodja, Curacao, Martinique, Amerika zijn een paar van de landen waar ik naar toe ben geweest met de baas.
Er gaat bijna geen dag voorbij dat ik er niet aan denk en in mijn huidige werk kan ik nog steeds putten uit deze bron.

In the second world war, in the beginning just 100 Dutch Marines ( only half trained and not having the barret jet) hold of tousands of german paratroopers for the 4 days defending rotterdam ^^

40 half trained marines held the bridge of Rotterdam against hundreds of Germans. They were called black devils by the germans, who just couldn't get rid of them. Also, the Dutch capitulated because Hitler said that, if they didn't do so, they would Bomb the large cities of the Netherlands, starting with Utrecht (they had already bombed Rotterdam). The government didn't want much citizen casualties, so they capitulated. But the Dutch didn't have tanks etc, nowadays they're much stronger ;-)

yeah but in those3 days we put a good fight up against the germans with our ww1 equipment and u know that dutch airforce shot down over 500 german planes? the german luftwaffe could never recover from that blow also reason whythey lost battle of britain

@WestPlatteCrossCount In the middle of rotterdam lays the Maas with several bridges connecting both parts of the city. These bridges are like bottlenecks and relatively easy to defend. However, the german paratroopers ( of whom i know that they are elite ) supprised the Dutch forces in the city. It was considerd to be a quite front and only navy sailors, half trained marines and some fully experienced marines were in the city. to be continued.

@WestPlatteCrossCount Some brigdes were defended by only platoons facing a battalion of Paratroops ( not thousands ). The marines reacted by crossing the river in the night and attack the flanks of the germans ( i dont know anymore the size of the forces involved in this counter attack but i believe 1 company of marines) resulting in heavy hand to hand fighting ( navtive east indian troops like the gurkas also serverd with the marines ) and some succes. to be continued.

@WestPlatteCrossCount In the end the Marines succeeded in there objectives and tacticly won at rotterdam ( so did dutch forces at Ypenburg but that is another story ). After there surrender they recieved millitary respect from the paratroopers for there magnificant suffering AND unjustified bombing of there beloved city ( wich still is nomore along with parts of other dutch cities such as middelburg ). Why? first because of there bravery and such, AND because they were issued black coats. I dont believe the nickname is honored nowadays.

the netherlands surrendered completly may 15th. and started capitulating may 14th after the german air force attacked rotterdam. so sorry mate. you just made that up.

some even speculate the germans bombed the city out of frustration because they couldnt get rid of the marines holding the bridge..
even when low on amo they did a al out charge on the german with knuckles and bayonets..
and in the 70 s terrorists highjacked a train and a school.
the dutch BBe nowadays the Unit intervention marines.

Well, what a great advert. It really sums up why I am rejoining, not the RNLMC but my own countries forces, albeit reserves for the moment - the things this video shows, camaraderie, challenge, pride, are universal to all troops.
It is shared hardships that bind friendships; or, in this case, comradeship.
Here's to troops doing their thing wherever they may be. And here's to the Dutch, a great people and a great ally.

They USMC isn't effective, they use about 1.5 times more soldiers then the Dutch/English troops to reach the same goal. The make their advantage with advanced weaponry, instead of the Dutch/English troops who make their advance with tactics and skill.
Nothing against the USMC though, they also did many good things (!!!)

I don't think you should say that the USMC "isn't effective". The Royal Marines are commandos, idk about the Dutch Marines, whereas in America, Marines are the elite, not regular, but not special forces, it's different than in the RM. "....use about 1.5 times more soldiers than the Dutch/English" Well pardon us for living in a large country....

dutch english marines are more commando based infantry that what is effective about the marines there heavily trained troops and normally they come in big numbers..bu usmc is more liek infantry i dont think there aswel trained as brits or dutch

je kan idd als burger de opleiding commando doen, er zijn bij de opleiding 2 groepen , mensen die al in het leger hebben gezeten , en de burgers. die in het leger hebben gezeten kennen de basis al. de burgers moeten die daar dan doen. dan ga je verder in de opleiding. je fysiek goed zijn maar ook vooral geestelijk. en of de commando's nou beter is dan de mariniers zou ik niet zeggen , ze zijn allebei keihard, en niemand is slecht in dienst , ze doen waar ze goed in zijn.

kct is niet beter want als jij een commando bent ben je geen marinier en er lopen veel mariniers rond die de commando opleiding hebben gevolgd en dus marinier en commando zijn dus ben je beter als marinier want dan kan je altijd nog voor die extra optie kiezen dus lul niet uit je nek
