  • Hey, I wholly advise taking lessons with a private instructor for all percussion as opposed to watching a video on it. That way the instructor can talk with you and see what you are doing and comment on it and give pointers and correct you personally. I'm taking lessons right now myself and they really help

  • Its probabbly the timpani, for the most part.

    For me though, I'm unable to get a good tone with those kinds of dead strokes.
