  • thats wat you cauld maniac style

  • Cesar, I like your videos, and nice explainations, for beginners.

Can you make some videos, to show how to do transitions into these positions to actually pull off the moves? Thanks!

  • old book showing the existance of leg locks in judo, titled "Higher judo ground work; Feldenkrais, M and Kozumi, G". also type k. mifune, he is a legend in the judo community. prior to ww2, mifune was an instructor of the kodokan. mifune also knew mitsuyo maeda, who was the founder of brazilian jiu jisu. point is that mifune taught leg locks. judo schools should re focus classical old "skool" judo cause IJF is fcuking garbage.

  • Beauty and Deadly.

  • He has it exactly backwards. Leg locks work better on someone with shorter legs than yourself.

  • lol bjj fighters would watch this with their eyes getting big "JUDO HAS LEG LOCKS?"

  • Rofl Exactly what im thinking ;p I do Bjj and judo never head of a leg lock in Judo O.O

  • lol ok

what dojo are u visiting haha

btw leg locks are inofficial, so arer strikes from judo. ancient warriors primarily learned judo throws, armbars and chokes. they were also trained some basic strikes and leglocks too though. in competition and randori its not allowed, i know that, but they do exist...just sayin

  • ashi gatame

kuzure, leg lock variation variacion de retencion de pierna. o hiza gatame rodilla

  • I personally know Cesar, he does BJJ as a part time hobby, and leg locks ARE taught in judo, just illegal in tournaments, so...

  • good job bringing kosen judo back into modern judo.. old school judo

  • also i'll share you the awareness why we don't use them.

this move wears out your miniskus, when you do it.

it already wears it out at an early stage, the miniskus is already a fragile body part when you look at the amount of elders and atleaths who have it operated.

i find it hard too belief that kano founded moves like this when his study was about the human body.

  • Judo teaches leg locks....but not in competion........

  • no its not in the basics of judo.

its brought in because judokas were intrested in it.

and its bieng teached by school that find them interesting, the moves don't exist in judo and its not named in judo as a judo move.

  • it is

go sit a black belt in judo and find out :)

  • if judo teaches leg locks can you give me the japanese name of the technique?

can you also tell me at what dan you should know a leg lock?

because i was always thought that a judoka should not learn something that they don't need.

  • @mightymk japanese names for leg locks can be found on judoinfo.org or com.

also, there is an old book, downloaded on their website that show judo leglocks. sambo, catch wrestling and the gracie marketing scheme, all derived their leglocks from kodokan judo.

  • @moelicious416 where is this evidence that sambo and catch wrestling derived their leg locks from judo?

  • @kempobrad first, old school judo comprised of leg locks and all submissions in sambo are dervied from judo. catch wrestling founder karl gotch was a freestyle and greco roman wretler. they do not comprise of submissions. fujiwara was co founder of catchwrestling where fujiwara taught karl submission moves. he was himself a judo / jujitsu master. sambo founder himself was killed cuase he refused to deny judo's influence in sambo. folk wrestling that influenced sambo does not have submissions.

  • @moelicious416 catch was around long before karl gotch, or fujiwara, and it did contain submissions. its simply silly to say all submissions came from any singular source IMO.

  • @moelicious416 you're right about the (one of) originator of sambo being killed, but that does not mean that every submission in sambo came from judo.

  • @kempobrad name one folk wrestling that got incorporated into sambo that has submissions? none. uzbek kurash is similar to judo without newaza. georgina wreslting, well, they like to shoot for the legs similar to freestyle wrestling. mongolian wrestling, nope. judo leglocks, yes,

  • first off judo comes from ju jitsu so ovo the leg locks will be there,, its a form as well as in a kata, judo has katas fighting agaisnt knifes and guns.......but do we use them in competion?

th leg locks liek ashi gatame and hiza gatame as well as many other leg locks exsit for kata purposes

  • you are obviously not qualified to teach leg locks.

  • Although your correct in a way since leglocks aren't allowed in modern judo sport competition; leg locks were still taught historically in Judo as in other arts. Some traditional dojos still incorporate banned techniques - this is Kata-Ashi-Hishigi.

  • Judo does tech leg locks friend. In competition they don't use them because some are banned.

  • @Brisks sambo learned their leglocks from judo. wrestling, both freestyle and greco-roman do not incorporate leglocks, nor does any other folk wrestling that sambo incorporated into their art.

  • This has got to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Long legs, short legs, leaning back, blocking the body? Who is this guy and who taught him leglocks because they should be shot. Not to mention Judo doesn't teach leglocks.

  • @Gandp1120 actually judo is the reason for sambo, and bjj. judo does teach leglocks. check out judoinfo.com.
