  • Omg. Watched beardyman because of the comments. That dude is absolutely incredible. This dude's got some skills, but beardyman is a prodigy

  • Seems a little out of sync.

  • Next time TED wants a beatbox mini show : contact Beardyman.

  • This is awesome

  • What does being white have to do with anything? What kind of a racist comment is that?

  • it suckes because he's white

  • Comment removed

  • I'm white, but I'm agree with you, respect and big up for black people, man :)

  • so i'm not the only one who thought this sucked. far better out there. this guy might sound good on the street corner but he has no business being on stage and in no way deserves to be on ted.

  • Ok, so a bad impersonation of any number of beatboxers who came before him. Why? There were better in the 80's.

  • Have you seen The Amazing Beat-Box Kid. I beg to differ on that 80's comment

  • what the hell trick was that at 2:53 it sounded like one of those Australian wood insturments

  • man.. this was not entertaining for jack. what a misery man.

  • Hats off james !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • guys don't be so harsh he's just a stinkin' beginner!!!

    peace out dudes

    -luca (puppydoo)

  • i would battle this dude on teds show.. or show down!!!!

  • Far below TED standards.

  • Agreed.

  • he's not that good..

    but opinions are opinions..

  • that rocks

  • he probaly gets headaches from dat shit

  • :(

  • he ownd

  • uncle "audiopoet" Jamie! Damn, I am so glad I came across this performance. What a brilliant, imaginative talent. I am very impressed. I hope your doing well. Peace

  • not so much impressed. usually i am blown away or really inspired by ppl and performances on TED. he isn't quite an amateur...but definetly not a pro by any means...

rahzel, killa kella, faith fx - maybe they should of got one of these guys...?!?!

  • this guy's really good, like holy shit he has like 8 different sounds at once from one mouth.

  • actually its 2 different at once if not just 1 sometime

  • then u should check out my videos!

  • roxorloops destroys this dude

  • what is TED, i lov what it shows!

  • As a fellow beatboxer, I found this to be terribly entertaining and I think the Invisible Turntable idea was brilliant. I have since incorporated it into my performance and...yes...I do cite you as the inspiration.

  • i thought it was good

  • Don't use retard as an insult it's cruel to people with disabilities.

  • A retard huh? (Hey, It's not my fault you were teased in school for excessive drooling...)

  • You were in my schooling classes? Quite strange I do not remember a person by the name of AudioPoet206. Stalking is creepy, try to lay off the rude words. Thanks.

  • hahaha

  • ☆☆☆☆☆

    Burchfield

  • i've seen a lot better, how is this sharing an idea anyway?

  • TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design.

    This is the Entertainment part.

  • Did not entertain me... I have seen a lo A LOT better on youtube.

  • OH ^^ THX

  • How very 1990's

  • I thought it was annoying but...as long as the people at TED liked it.

  • this guy is ok, but check out ROXORLOOPS. ten times better.

  • does he say "Sesin" around 1:45?

  • orgasmic

  • disappointed aren't you?

see the real thing and not an emulation.

    youtube search: Qbert on G4TV

anything qbert is usually good btw.

  • Scratch from germany is pretty good beatboxer.

  • OK he's great but i don't understand why this is at TED?

Ted is supposed to be about ideas, theories, and explainations of our world. This was just... i dont know.

  • They always have some kind of random entertainment-like performance. idk why either though.

  • Technology, Entertainment, and Design... this guy falls into the center of these three categories

  • Oh hahha wow i didnt even know thats what TED stood for. That does make sense now thanks

  • hes alright but I think think TED is lowering its standards lately .

  • Lately? This video is from 2003! The "Entertainment" catagories was represented. I didn't ask to be apart of this amazing group of people... they asked me. (And I'm grateful...) Maybe you could step outside of the box for a second, and stop worried about the $700B Bail-Out. I comment ALL of the ARTIST and great thinkers of TED.

  • Alright AudioPoet, I stand corrected. Fine Job in 2003. I usually check TED for groundbreaking and profound concepts and ideas. My comment wasn't aimed directly at your BeatBoxing, just Some of the lackluster folks put on the stage . Nothing personal man. At least its not the Apollo.

  • This just means you need to watch more TED. ;)

  • if you want to see a REAL human beatbox search:

Joseph - The Best Beat Box

  • 2good

  • yea, thats beatboxing!!

    by

  • his sound textures are fully realized goes hes not using a proper mic setup. His bad

  • Another Justin Timberlake

  • i couldn't sit through the whole thing. was ok though. I saw a guy named Kenny Mohammad live in NYC supporting Squarepusher a few years back who was much more a.d.d. and inventive with his beat boxing. if you like this guy, check him out.

  • correction: his name was Kenny Muhammad

  • thanks... wow Kenny Muhammad is unreal.

  • Damn this video is OLD! Wish you would have seen the set when I opened up for Lucky IAM..

  • He seems to make more sense than McCain or Obama

  • "You kno wha mm sayin'? You kno wha mm sayyyyiin'"

  • sounds like the noise I call the cops on every weekend

  • I can't be what you want me to be.... sorry. Hopefully there's someone for you in...San Fransisco.

  • It's amazing how many strangers suddenly become pretentious and judgmental when you put a computer in front of them. Anonymity does terrible things to folks' manners.

Ignore the haters. Best policy on YouTube.

  • will i never live that innocent comment down? =(

My bad audiopoet. much style kid.

  • This guy is allright, but Beardyman would have met TEDs level of quality and entertainment much better I think.

But always nice to see beatboxing brought to the people!

  • I see all the n00bs don't know about TED's other artistic acts.

For my part, faved and ☭☭☭☭☭ed, if only to compensate for others' ignorance.

  • They seemed to enjoy it, you need a bit of fun every once and a while, right? :)

  • TED isn't all about science and intellectual discussions.

Like Rantandreason said, it's about inspiration and ideas. Besides, I'm sure this was a well-needed break for all the people in the audience ;D

  • Why are you people so ignorant. TED is about IDEAS! Just because you don't enjoy it, or don't understand what he's doing, doesn't mean the idea couldn't inspire someone who's there to do something incredible.

  • umm

    this guy performed at TED?

    ....

  • He's mimicking a turntable performance to people who are still pondering about the meaning of the word 'HipHop'. I find this highly enjoyable, but I wonder why they got this on ted. Nonetheless, 5 stars :)

  • There should be a TED junior for this sort of thing.

  • This dude sucks, check this guy out:

    watch?v=CTUpTJyjUp0

Seriously if anyone from TED is reading this, check out the above video.

  • good noises but seriously wtf

  • T.E.D

    R.I.P

  • what the fuck

  • brilliant!
