  • been rendered senseless in a temple made of gold

  • why is atlanta ripping the entire rock n roll underground a new asshole lately?

  • Check out the two Black Lips videos I posted.

  • well, irrespective of contemporary music, do you genuinely think Americans invented all music? The Mersey beat style, so-called because of the city was distinctly British. And what American bands had an obvious influence on the Smiths and the Cure? You seem unnecessarily disgruntled about things that have nothing to do with you. Contemporary music is pretty much wholly shitty anyway.

  • and im from LI cjmooney. im just giving credit where it's due. Maybe if you lived on an island that invented most true american artforms you stop making up fantastic bullshit and be comfy with the truth.

  • britans got a much better scene than america now, u can play wot u wont and still get an audiance everything new is coming from here. in america it seems u have to play eather pop rock or rap to get big its all a buisness over there

  • um, not true. Britian does have a good music scene but so does America. Portland, Omaha, New York, Atlanta. If any coutnry has a better music scene than the other, it's Canada.

  • well i hope you enjoy your cold weather, bad food and nasty grills over in england you limey fuck

  • why this hate, Canada has good music scene in many its cities. it may not be more popular than the scene in the United States. media coverage is why the US music is so big. the us has a population 100x bigger then Canada. the US has kept control over the people by making them think they are free and can make all there own decisions, but the decisions are pre-set CHOICES of freedom that have been set in place. it allows for the creation of classes and government control via media. corruption.

  • be careful dude, the rothschild family could be reading your comments.

  • Oi bozzer, I'd like to point out that the London has more Michelin star restaurants than New York, the capital of food in the States. Mostly, American food is famed for its quantity over quality - large portions of bland and flavourless food. But New York is great.

  • Crabman your a twat

  • you know a band is good if the can capture you in the first 4 seconds. the black lips do just that with the opening riff

  • Nu Rave ? This is fucking american GARAGE PUNK. Period ! There's tons of bands like them all over North-America and Europe...What's the fuss about ? Never mind the trends...Do you think The Mummies were trendy in the '90's ???

  • these dudes are from atlanta mooney.

  • Test Icicles are British you fucking idiot.

  • In fairness, they're both American and British. I think it's Rory who's British, Dev and Sam were both born in the US, and moved over to the UK later in life.

The band was formed in England though, and that's where they played their early gigs.

Either way, they're kind of a mix of both!

  • Yeah okay, but the point is, is that cjmooney is wrong. He goes round every music video claiming that the Americans invented everything. He claims that Test-Icicles are nu-rave, have he ever actually listened to them? Or does he just look at what clothes bands wear and then make his judgement? I think Rory is actually Irish by the way.

  • basically your a fucking prick.

  • you're

  • Good work!

  • thanks.

  • anyway this lot are fucking awesome!

  • utter crap mate, the libertines are nothing like the strokes............ foals/battles not really, the klaxons/test iciles, hardly. blur and pavement come on................

  • the black lips have came to the u.k for there tour and smashed the whole country up with there gigs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    fucking class

  • klaxons and test icicles are both uk bands...

  • well to begin with blur formed before pavement and your form the uk anyway

  • I suppose the sex pistols, the clash, crass, the buzzcocks, the stranglers, the rolling stones, the beatles, led zeppelin, the cure, pink floyd, velvet underground were all just poor imitations of american bands, I apologise on behalf of the UK

  • Sorry but the Sex Pistols were a poor imitation of The Ramones, Sid Vicous (attempted) played bass in the same style as Dee Dee and even went to the extent of wearing the same brand padlock round his kneck.

I'm British and i'm proud of the music scene but like everything we've copied from American bands and American bands have copied from us. It's the way music works.

  • The Velvet Underground were from NYC :D

  • Thats only sid vicious being influenced by the pistols. The sex pistols were their own shit. Watch their documentaries and see how influential they are.

  • Velvet underground is american the beatles started pop and sex pistols changed music. The rest is right on.

  • this is a sad point of view

  • mooooooola

  • your having a laugh surely?

what kind of music you into?

  • great song, great band. they have an awesome original sound. the whole album is great and their great live.

  • Hey! I heard this on Indie 103. I luv this song!!!!F@#K Yeah!!!!!!Thank You Joe Escalante.....

  • their playing at coachella fest their the shit

  • I agree with yipppyyy , this song is too fucking catchy. Just got into these guys and got to say one of the best bands I have discovered out of the blue.

  • the drummer's movement inspires me more than a drummer's movement should inspire someone

  • Seriously, lots of energy from all the members and catchy music... what more could you ask for? :D

  • this song is too catchy. it should be outlawed.

  • omdz this bands on crack love it

  • i love this song because i find my hands are often cold

  • I like this comment.

  • me too

  • still good, one year on.

  • Who cares what they "are"? People seem so obsessed with immediately labeling a band with some subspecies-level genre. Bands make music. Listen to the music and like the band or don't. Who gives a shit how image-obsessed friends decide to pidgeonhole that music. What would The Clash be labeled these days I wonder, over their entire career? About 14 different things? Be a lover of good music, don't categorize eveything. That's something tiny children who want to fit in do.

  • Dunkeon, your a dumbass. ALCUS52 was justing making a statement that they sounded like Psychobilly (an awesome genre I must add). He never stated: "Is it me, or is this quite Psychobilly AND IT MATTERS ONLY WHAT GENRE THEY ARES!!!!!" He just said they sounded like quiet Psychobilly.

So chill out and shut your trap Dunkeon.

  • HAHAHAHA too bad they don't sound like Psychobilly in the first place. But I suppose I could see how the untrained ear or an idiot could think so...

  • LOl my uncles from the FUCKING METEORS. This doesnt REALLY sound like Psychobilly but its got some of its aspects (guitar and drums mostly)

  • They seem to care.

They repeatedly refer to themselves as flower punk.

    And I'm in total agreement.

  • I understand your thoughts, I use to feel the same way. But describing the way a band sounds by subgenres is a perfect way to literally describe the way a band sounds. There is a difference between using labels as a way to describe a sound rather than use it to be an exclusive hipster music snob.

Labeling is important; i'd be offended if someone ignorant labeled the black lips emo. As far as the clash goes, I say PUNK. I can't think of 14 different things/labels. Can you?

  • Wicked!!!! Go

  • psychadelic surf punk lives long ion the west coast

  • cool song..

  • Oraleeeeeee.

  • i missed their show in nyc!

    ...im so mad

  • kick ass song

  • these idiots remind me of cowboys and the cramps their preety fucking good

  • man this song's the shit

  • Awesome. Rock and roll never die.

No sex we are brittish. we can play.

    Ari Suomesta

  • see them live!!!!!

  • wow this band rocks :D

  • Hell yes, their drummer!! o.o

  • does everyone agree that this is their best song of all time?

  • I think they have some equally amazing tracks. . . and a few that surpass this one.

  • I just love this song. I just saw them and they were great.

Vote Ron Paul for a strogner america

  • No one died? Guitarist Ben Eberbaugh died in 2002.

  • were they better with him than now?

  • Why isn't Cole singing?

Jared remember when you stole my bass amp in 10th grade?

  • Wow! This sounds really 60's garage punkish. It's an awesome sound.

  • who is the guy that died??

  • still lovin' it.

  • This song will stay in your head for DAYS! :)

  • love love love
