WOW hard as hell to make the details with printer paper, but thanks to your tutorial I managed to just do it; the video was informational, informative, and creative. Well done! Subbed :P
!?!?!?!?!?!?!?This is litterarlly R.J. Langs KNL Dragon in the origami design secret book( the book is so long!!, took 4 months to comprehend the whole book but it's worth it.)
THE END RESULT IS SO FREAKIN EPIC! IT LOOKS LIKE ONE OF THOSE PROFESSIONAL DRAGONS WITH COMPLICATED FOLDS BUT ITS SO FREAKIN SIMPLE! I LOVE YOUR WORK DUDE!
It's really nice how you published your technique that you invented on the internet after you made a book. It's pretty altruistic, and very nice. It's probably the best origami dragon I could find on the internet thus far. Thanks for showing us this!
@Origamispecialist That's a deep question. I'd say it's no so much about math as experimentation and enjoying the process of creating. You gotta enjoy the process because in the beginning your efforts might not be so fruitful -- I know mine weren't. I'd just create creatures with lots of arms and legs... I didn't care if they looked messy and like nothing real. I did enough of that that I finally started being able to make animals and things. Just takes practice I think.
@sonicboom592 Ha! Just knock it over and it will stand on all four legs! No but really, just adjust the pleats on the neck and tail and I think you'll have what you're talking about.
and Flasher Hat all in your book Origami to Astonish and Amuse? I was thinking about buying it, but I wanted to get an idea of what models are in it before I do. Thanks!
@jonahrulez Yes, they are. If you look up Origami to Astonish and Amuse on Amazon, right on the picture of the book you can "click to look inside" and you can see the contents pages.
@jeremyshaferorigami One thumbs up from me, will you consider it, now? Other people requested on other videos too! So Nail Clipper tutorial, please think about it!
Very very easy... try making a tutorial of the ancient dragon by some japanese girl forget her name... id love to see a tutorial for that. since ur instrucktions are so easy to follow
@MrPieLover1001 Well that enough dragon for a while. 45 minutes came out to almost a 2 GB video which is the size limit for YouTube. So that's as complex a model I can teach.... unless I want to start getting into multiple videos. Not saying I won't... but I think I like teaching the easier models more.
@jeremyshaferorigami Just was wondering can you make the origami Ancient Dragon? ive seen videos on it and it said it took them like 6 hours to complete. also i enjoied makeing the venus fly trap and the squishy blob they were kinda easy and good for intermediate origamists... keep making videos im enjoying them and so is everyone else!
@kiwication Thanks for the feedback! Glad it wasn't that hard. I think this is about the max of complexity that I should aim for... at least until I can afford to buy a better video camera!
@faboulasjoelle Well, thanks for trying. You know, crap isn't so bad! The more you attempt something, the better it will look. My first attempt at designing a model usually looks like crap, but after trying over and over again it usually ends up evolving into at least some okay-looking crap.
@faboulasjoelle Star of peace... I don't think so. But I would be happy to do the peace sign. We could use some peace in this world! I'm working on the Pyramid and Eagle now.
Duh! It crossed my mind when doing the quick water bomb base from your skeleton hand video that that technique might work for other bases. But nothing came to mind! Guess that's why you are the one doing origami books! LOL!
You need to get your face in more videos. I think it makes them more personal and you have a very expressive face. I can see why you'd be good at entertaining kids!
@rgg3 You know I really like this comment. Yes, I need to get my face in more videos; I've sort of been lazy that way.... and shy. But I think you're right and I will from now on.
15:30 , (an hour later, and still didn't start learning for my test) damn it!! my paper is too thick!!!

will an 8 inch square work?
GalacticWarrior77 7 months ago
@GalacticWarrior77 I've even done it from a 6-inch square... but the larger square the more crimps and pleats you can make.
jeremyshaferorigami 7 months ago
@GalacticWarrior77 Thats a bit too small trust me i tried it before you should use a 10 inch square

wtf is that crap with the tail?!!?
slamdunker555 8 months ago
@slamdunker555 It's just a bunch of reverse folds. You can certainly omit it and leave it like a crane's tail.
jeremyshaferorigami 7 months ago
@jeremyshaferorigami i spende a lot of time in the tail and i finallyu made it couse your comment
thx thx ty ty =)

I'm guessing the sponge technique is putting paint on the sponge and dabbing it on the paper, right?

Is this a complex model that i will need 10 inch or can you standard size kami? What would you recommend?
Origamispecialist 11 months ago
@Origamispecialist I recommend 10-inch paper or foil, but I've folded it many times from 6-inch paper/foil as well.
