The only thing that i don't like about any ford truck is that the gauges are way too small. I have a 99 sierra and the gauges are nice and big and easy to see. But i love the raptor and i'm a chevy guy... Now that's saying something! Can't wait for the gmc all terrain though... :D

@94Johnnyboy1 I don't mind the gauges, its the annoying BLIIIIIINGGGG chime that the Fords makes (excluding Expeditions). Silverado's chime is way to soft and quiet to be on a massive truck like it (almost feminine if you will) and Rams are..- well lets be honest, nobody likes Ram's.

@pantsparty193 What do you want? If you want a new truck, the Raptor is the best way to go. If you want to cage an old beater, thats the way to go. For what it is the Raptor is a very good deal. And the frame "issue" is just something that happened to a few owners who have never been offroad before and didn't understand the trucks limit. And they were on a unfamiliar road going 80+

@ mjbrown. Well i would hope its a lot better... It six years newer than my truck.. And the raptor is a 50,000 $ truck as mine was around 38,000 at the time. I was just suprised at its 0 to 60. I thought it would be faster. Ive also heard there have been issues with the raptors frame when offroading. But dont get me wrong. The raptor is a sexy truck.

Hey if the manual says run 93 octane, then you probably NEED TO RUN 93 OCTANE. Seriously, if you use the low octane stuff, then in a high compression engine like the 6.2, the gas will start combusting before the spark plug sparks. That can cause all sorts of stuff to go wrong on it.

@yournamehere832 Modern Cars automatically adjust for the Octane your running... Does this mean you SHOULD run 87 or lower all the time? No! But it won't cause all sorts of issues if you do. At most you will just have a dirty engine since lower octane gas isn't as clean. if you don't have 93 where you are run 91... Many modern powerful cars say 93.. but here in CA there is only 91.. and it's shitty 91 at that. But all modern cars have at least 1 low octane timing and fuel map in the ECU.

@frankd14321 Yes I know they can adjust most of their components to lower octane, but unless it has a variable compression ratio (which only one engine in the world has, and its only in certain saabs) then it will cause it to combust due to it being compressed and not from the spark. As in it can combust while it is in the compression stroke, not top dead center or the power stroke. And when it does that, it can mess all sorts of stuff up. But if you can only get 91 then run what you can.

@FishHuntCook You can think of octane as somewhat of a flame retardant. If you use gas with a high octane level, you can get a higher compression before sending in the spark to ignite it. That will give more power on your combustion stroke, allowing for more power, which is why you use 91-93 or higher octane gas for high-performance motors. If a motor is designed to run on regular 87 octane, putting higher octane gas in it will do absolutely nothing other than drain your pocket faster.
