@qwertyuioas8 well the same thing happened to me. I also noticed that when i downloaded the file and had to use the x64 folder... it only had 1 .dll file in it instead of 2. Maybe this is causing that error message, I'm not sure. Varinderrocks asked about this 4 days ago, but I don't see where you responded. What do you suggest?

@MCHCSaint Agreed. It's not proper to do it this way. In my own honest opinion, I wouldn't recommend doing it. A graphics card is what makes the game have dazzling effects. Simply fooling your PC with a software isn't a good idea and does not work the same way that a graphics card does.

Well I tested this out with the Portal mod, Blue Portals, because in the videos I've seen the gun looks SHINY!!! I loaded it up and put the DLLs in the bin folder as well as the root directory (just in case), game loaded up and I saw all the details I had seen in the videos, and my frame rate was cappin' out at 2. My response? "Wow that's incredible! Worth it? No!"

I downloaded the file off of swiftshader's site. there are folders for x64 and x86. both folders have d3d9.dll file. that's the only file from the folders

First of all, every computer has a video card. Without it, you wouldn't be able to see anything at all on your monitor, the title should be changed to "How to play any game without a decent video card". Secondly, from the footage I've seen, the game looks almost unplayable, its pretty much a slide show (3 frames per second), and this is only the opening sequence.
