  • Great to see her running again!! also, do you speak german?

  • @MrSiner09 Thanks, thought you might like to see her running again, no I had to translate the German. :-)

  • @Bevoin1970 ah right

  • Great machine Paul..

  • @aid2003 It will outlive me thats for sure.. ha ha - Thanks Andy :-)

  • Good to see that you have still got your toys to play with this winter LOL,have to get out with my camera sometime..........John

  • @johnwood57 Only reason I made this was because I was bored.... LOL Come back the summer, all is forgiven.. Thanks John :-)

  • nice video Paul

with a little patience your green friend still run like a new one

    have a good weekend

    Pat

  • @7784Patrick Thanks Pat, Im hoping I get more work, and therefore wont be playing in the shed, killing time with these engines.. ha ha.

Thanks for watching, you too have a nice weekend.. :-)

  • Very nice Paul. That engine runs fantastic!

    Really enjoyed the video.

    Jarno.

  • @hanomagman It didn't to begin with, the slider valve in the carb, was sticking because I made a gasket for it last year, Once the engine fired up, she ran too fast, so I removed my gasket, and all was well once again.

Thanks for watching Jarno, Im glad you enjoyed my little film.. :-)

    Have a nice weekend.

  • Great. Specially the rain! But don't you get the urge to DO something with it? Make some electricity, boil a kettle (!!) or something?

  • @balmesh Yes I do actually, I do have a small compressor lying around, but it wont load the engine very much. I need a BIG dynamo, but to date, I haven't come across anything like that. I always keep my eyes open as you do. Cost is another issue, sometimes I will find something suitable, but cost or distance are usually a problem.

Course once you do get these things, storing them is the next issue, I've already outgrown the space that I've got.. ha ha.

Thanks for watching and your Q

  • To Bevoin1970

Thanks for replying. Is it possible to convert an electric motor into a dynamo? They share the same characteristics and I remember being told that an electric motor is just a dynamo reversed! If you could, then an old fridge or washing machine would provide?

  • @balmesh Yes I think it is, but I wouldn't know how to go about converting one, thats a little above my head. I could do it if I had clear instructions and diagrams. You may be onto something there, thanks. :-)

  • To Bevoin1970

Well, Paul, if there is a decription with diagram available it'll be on line somewhere. Ask our dear friend Google!

  • @balmesh I bet your right there too.. ha ha Thanks :-)

  • nice lister a! but be careful with the magneto in the rain

  • @zuigerspeling Why what happens? - I had no choice in this case, the weather was fine when I set out to make this film, then it just turned and began to rain, too late for me to cover up by then, so had to ride it out... Thanks for watching :-)

  • Another fascinating video Paul, with superb camera work highlighting every detail, and on top of that, a very interesting story line, including the cuppa, which as would be expected, is also made with precision.....10/10....Bob

  • @robmasterman The cuppa was an unexpected side avenue, as they say rain stopped play, so without wanting to disrupt the film I simply carried on, and you guys got to see me make a coffee.. now theres a "Wow" moment.. ha ha

Its all good fun eh, and it adds to the viewers fun too. I enjoyed that drink too.. :-)

Thanks Bob as always, you do say such nice things.. Your a star!

  • i have a question? what's is the purpose of those machine?

  • @vinxxx22 Back in days of old, especially on farms, they didn't have electricity or electrical motors like we have today, so engines like this would be hooked up to generators, or water pumps, milking machines and such things, using a flat belt to drive the machine that was needing power. As time progressed, more modern machinery came along, engines like this were no longer needed, and so ended up as scrap.

What you see here, is a survivor from those days... :-)

  • What is this ? Perpetual motion ? Some like that?:DD

    Greetings from PL :))

  • @malydth I wish it was Perpetual motion, but it uses Petrol and so costs money to run..LOL

Its a single cylinder Petrol engine.. :-)

  • @liam21157 Thanks Liam :-)

  • Well done. She needed it this run Paul. The same thing the my Petter AP1 did to me after 1 month, I cant believe. Only a new plug. If I was there I will get my silver "carb" tray to have coffee one it, LOL

  • @enginelover1 Yes your right, she did need this run, it had been a long time since the last good run. This engine never starts up first time, I always have to tinker around with it to get her going. Not like the PAZ1 at all.. ha ha.

Yes I needed your silver tray to take my coffee down to the shed... Thanks Joseph :-)

  • Welcome

Most probably my friend you have little ride: / but the Junior also requires a bit shining a light and the time, is beautiful.

And probably I will move to the GB since looking at the weather at you at once a smile appeared on my face.

    Today at me -14 C..brrrrr :/

Now he only stayed for me the tea and waiting till spring

    hold on warmly :D

  • @bibula83 Hello and good morning, Im happy that I was able to put a smile on your face.. LOL me too look. :-)

-14 sounds very very cold, this is alien weather to us in england, maybe -4 but thats in extreme places like in Scotland.

I'll make you a coffee next time.. ha ha - take care out there in that cold weather...Paul :-)

  • excellent video Paul

  • @pwalpar Thank you Walter nice of you to say.. :-)

  • two sugars in mine please...

  • @geezah22 Ok coming up.. ha ha :-)

  • born in the days where things were built to last now that i finally have a decent sized garden im thinking about looking for one of these old antiques

  • @weirdstuffanimation7 Ah! now your talking, invest in some old iron, you wont regret it, play with it, have some fun and then sell it on again when you've had enough, hopefully for a little more than you paid for it. They make lovely garden features too.. ha ha.

I can see you on ebay now as we speak... :-)

  • great video there Paul well done sir. the engine as usual running sweet as a nut. puts my A to shame. again well done.

  • @mrstuart143 Nah your Lister A is just as good, just different thats all. They are all unique in their own ways.

Thanks for watching and commenting.... :-)

  • Your a star Paul....really enjoyed this, two vids of them in one week...how lucky are we! You have some great angle shots of it, and we can really hear the great sound...even loved the making a coffee shot .haha. Thanks Paul. :-)

  • @007vauxhall I never intended to make coffee mid flow so to speak, but rain forced the event, so why not add a little coffee making to the story, it all adds to the interest for the viewer I hope. When I watch other peoples engine videos, I always want the camera to move like my eyes I suppose, looking here and there etc. This is what I try to replicate when I make my own films, I know there are viewers out there looking at the nitty gritty parts of an engine, "is it like mine" etc...

    THX Paul

  • I remember when you got this engine,I bet the old boy who owned it before you is looking down now with a smile, thanks to you for bringing her back to life. She sounds good Paul, nice video.

  • @firglenchainsaws No that was my other Lister A, I sold that to a chap in Germany. I never got on with that engine, it had one or two issues too, and so I parted with that one.

This Lister Junior, I had to have new valves and guides made, cost me a packet, so no way was I going to sell this one, plus because of her original look, I always loved this engine more.

Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it. :-)

  • what a beauty

    Lovely

  • @odzadze123 Thank you, thats nice of you to say so... :-)

  • It's about time you treated that old van of yours to a new engine Paul, you may get you deliveries done on time now lol...Nice video mate. Norm.

  • @drummingriffin Yeah Im thinking of dropping the Lister Junior into her, but then should I go for the Petter diesel??..LOL

Thanks Norm, Im glad you enjoyed watching it....Paul :-)

  • love the flywheels on this one paul . out of interest what type of plug would this use ?

It is a treat to hear them as always , where else can you hear one of these on a regular bassis apart from Bevoin1970 ??

nice one Paul Keep em going

    Terry

  • @terence20001 I switch from old Champion 8 com to NGK to Lodge, whatever I have to hand really. I bought a few old plugs from ebay, just to make it look authentic, this engine never starts first time, the plugs get wet and so I swap the plug over, hopefully the engine fires up and runs, I then leave that plug in till the next time, repeating the process once more.

Suppose the engine rally's are the place to go see many like this one on show during the summer months.

    Thx Terry :-)

  • Lovely original look. Right down the original crushed exhaust. Always good to see the working clothes look... never to be painted I hope.

    Dan

  • @MO3MINI Thanks thats what attracted me in the first place to buying this engine. I just loved that original look. Mind you it wasn't quite like this when I got her, I had to have new valves and guides made too which wasn't cheap. I have a photo slide video on here of how she looked when I first picked her up.

No way would i paint this old girl, never in a million years. She looks to good as she is, and its her true look too, even down to the battered exhaust.. :-)

    Thanks Dan :-)

  • It has a bit of a damage.. I really like the sound coming from the Lister haha. Doesn't you neighbours mind the noise?

  • @MANTGXV8Fan I bet this old lady could tell many stories about her life if only she could.

I usually wait for my neighbours to go to work before I start them up, they don't appreciate the noise and smoke like i do... ha ha - plus they think Im crazy, so I don't encourage them in there thoughts of craziness... LOL

  • She seems to be running quite nice once you got her going! looks wonderful to in its origonal paint. =D

  • @crankupchris Last year I made a gasket for the carb, but it ever so slightly fouled the the sliding mechanism of the carb butterfly thingy. The governor was sticking, and she began to run at high speed, not good.. ha ha

I removed the gasket and all is now well. Once she warms up properly, she seems to settle down to a steady chug.

Yeah all original paint on this baby, she looks great. I would never paint her... :-)
